Gentle silica based scrub

I tried this product for free in exchange for my honest opinion. I'm a huge skincare buff so this scrub was right up my alley. I love some manual facial scrubs for exfoliation if they are not too abrasive & thankfully, this Olay cleansing scrub was gentle since it is using silica and not glucose. Format itself is that of a cloudy white with a thicker gel undertone. The lather actually surprised me quite a bit and it did a great job of dissolving the "scrub particles" which were not abrasive and overly jagged causing micro-tears. Formula does contain fragrance and the scent is very noticeable upon applying, however, it isn't overwhelming. This cleanser does its thing using silica microbeads and salicylic acid. Its base is a rich, creamy gel that feels similar to a thick body wash. I don't often use physical exfoliation, because I go way too hard, but it is useful when my chemical exfoliants leave me a little flaky, or a quick scrub to make my foundation lay better. I have mature, aging, premenopausal skin and this cleanser is exactly what I want in a face wash. I feel like I could use this cleanser everyday without hurting my skin too. This product falls right in line with all other Olay products that I have ever tried and is definitely something that I will buy for myself in the future as well as recommend to friends and family.

This is supposed to foam and act as a cleanser, but I didn't find its foaming capability to be very good. My pores look no cleaner (just broken out now!) and if this is supposed to detox my pores, it didn't do its job.Ultimately, I wouldn't recommend this product unless you can try some first.
