This kit is a good base. We added chicken breast, pepper and red onion to the sauce mix. The dry mix sachet goes into a pot of sour cream which you additional need to buy to add at the table. You can increase the heat individually with some chilli sauce. I enjoyed the flavour and the meal. I just was a bit confused initially what we needed to buy and add where.

We usually have the BBQ flavour and this was sent for review and I have to say when they tell you mild they really mean it. There's not even onion or peppers in the instructions and the sauce is so mild that it mutes the flavour of the chicken. In contrast they have a strange powder you mix into sour cream to add as a topping which tastes and smells like old socks. Utterly bizarre, surely no one who needs food this mild will like cheezy cream topping. I've never eaten anything like it.

Cant beat fajitas for tea when it has been a long day! Reasonably priced (although this bought in a promo) and reliably tasty, quick to prepare every time. Extra mild still nice flavour. Highly recommemded. Eye catching packaging which you can see ftom end of aisle.

Let?s not kid ourselves - this kit is literally nothing like authentic Mexican or Tex-Mex. The meat seasoning is like a very processed BBQ sauce in flavour, and really quite sweet. I added jalape?os and chillies to get more flavour. Despite these aspects, this is a fun, family-friendly meal and good for a quick lunch (as much as dinner) especially when during these Covid times, at-home lunches can become really very boring.
Im reviewing this product because I got a free sample from Ocado. Its a handy pack to have in the cupboard a family friendly, quick cook pack with all the bits you need. Flavour is a little sweet but mild. Quite saucy for a fajita, rather than the dried herbs and spices were used to. Not too much depth to it but you wouldnt with a stir in sauce. Im not sure about the topping mix is needed on the sour cream, it reminds me of the Pringles sour cream flavouring. Dont think I would buy again as I prefer other fajita mixes that use dried herbs and spices, even if I have to buy things individually but perhaps a fair option when cooking for those who dont like hot spices.
It?s pricey for what you get. The sauce for the chicken is nice and the tortillas are a decent quality but this powder you?re supposed to stir into sour cream is just a waste of sour cream. Don?t use it. It?s weird. The rest is fine but I think you could probably buy better quality tortillas and make the sauce with store cupboard spices and some inexpensive passata.
Had for review from Ocado; not a product I would have chosen normally, but was pleasantly surprised. I used half of each pack to make two separate meals. I used Quorn chicken style pieces for one and cubed tofu for the other; they took the flavour of the cooking sauce very well. For the drizzle sauce I used yoghurt and added strips of red pepper for garnish. The fiddliest part was wrapping the tortillas around the filling to prevent escape. In the end, it was a tasty, if somewhat messy meal in minutes. May purchase again.
The cooking sauce was far too sweet for a dish that is supposed to be savoury. However, an even bigger problem is that the tortillas are too small. The can't be folded as shown in the picture on the box, because all the filling would fall out when you pick it up. But the small tortillas are very difficult to fold like a burrito without the filling coming out. It would be better if the box contained fewer larger tortillas than eight small ones.
These fajitas make a great family meal, quick and easy to make. Just add chicken, a little salad/veg and sour cream and good to go! These fajitas suit my taste being extra mild. This product was purchased as part of a promotion.
I was sent this by Ocado to review. It does have a very mild flavour. However, I expected that as it an ?Extra Mild? Fajita Kit. It would be suited to anyone who can?t tolerate a lot of spice or perhaps useful as a gentle introduction to Mexican flavours for young children. I made chicken fajitas (suggested filling) and used the sauce as per the instructions. I personally thought the sauce had a slight chemical aftertaste. I made my own accompaniments guacamole and spicy salsa to kick up the heat. Otherwise it would have been too bland for us.
