This is some good whiskey but not worth the price you pay. There are some other whiskey out there that are just as good or better at a cheaper price. Save your money and get a bottle of Blantons or 18 year Jamieson at a quarter of the price.

I have wanted a Van Winkle product since watching ‘Justified’. Tried my state’s ABC Lottery with no joy. My daughter tried to buy me a bottle as a Christmas present at the local ABC store and they just laughed at her. So, I found Wooden Cork. The shipping was fast. The packaging was such I think it would have taken an explosion to break the bottle. Now I just have to decide when to open it. Thanks.
Thrilled to finally have 12-year-old Pappy. This almost completes my collection. I have three bottles of the ten years old, now two bottles of twelve-year-old, one thirteen-year-old Rye, and one bottle of twenty-year-old Pappy. All I need now if the fifteen-year-old and twenty-five-year-old. The super rare bottles are not for me.
Was a gift. He opened the gift but not the bottle! I declare all 41st anniversaries should be filled with Pappiness.
I have not opened this bottle yet but purchased it after tasting the 10, 12 and 15 year Van Winkle. These were not tasted blind but rather in a swanky bar in Aspen. That, said, they were all amazing. A friend and I preferred the 12, hence buying this one. The whiskey has intense complexity and a long, long finish. If you have the $$ ($$$$) it is worth at least the experience. As a side note, I once had Louis XIII and was not so impressed relative to many other Cognacs I've had.
The whiskey is delicious. People whine about secondary saying it should be cheaper, but the market has spoken. They’re so delusional to think they would be able to buy it at retail price if places didn’t charge secondary. Dumb dumbs
