I bought this a month ago and it is dodgy straight out of the box.It makes so much noise you can't have a conversation in the room when it is turned on. The fan is on low and it is loud. It sounds like a jet aircraft when it's on high.I smells of melted plastic whenever it's turned on. And even if it's turned off but plugged into a power point that is on, it still smells of melted plastic. The instructions don't tell you how to remove the filter cover and I can't work out how to remove it short of taking an axe to it. A few basic instructions regarding this would help.It doesn't remove much water. I have it running in a bathroom that is about 10 foot x 7 foot. A few basic instructions regarding this would help.It doesn't remove much water. I have it running in a bathroom that is about 10 foot x 7 foot. The unit is a 16 litre per day model, which should be ample for that size room. The bathroom door is shut and the humidity in the room is about 80-90%. I leave this dehumidifier running for 24 hours and get half a collection container (less than 2 litres) of water.I have the humidity level on the machine set at 40% because I am trying to stop mould growing in the bathroom. It does this because there is no window in the bathroom, and the roof of the unit has no ventilation so the moisture just builds up. The dehumidifier is set to 40% but I can't get the room any lower than 55%. It simply won't dry the air out anymore than 55% humidity. I even had it running 2 days in a row and didn't use the bathroom. 55% is as low as it can go even though it's meant to be able to get down to 40%.It comes with 2 feet of plastic hose, which is useless. If you want to use the hose for the water to drain out of the dehumidifier, you need to place the dehumidifier next to a sink. If they gave us a meter or a meter and a half of hose, not a problem, but 2 feet, what are we meant to do with that? We can't even hang ourselves. What a waste of money. A $250 heater that makes lots of noise and stinks the room out. All it does is warm the room up and a dehumidifier is not meant to warm the room up. This thing is seriously dodgy. Look for another brand.
