Good game for the right people, if you can get it on discount and like a magic style game - go ahead and give it a shot.
Line battlers are really fun, forcing you to play a number of tug of wars. Games of Omen are tense and close, adding some really good tactical decisions to every game.
My only gripe about this game is that the cards become familiar very quickly and I wish there were a bit more "content" in this installment. That's more a me thing, though. The game isn't super balanced, especially if you're lucky enough to get Oracles out fast, but it's still fun and it's not so swingy as to be aggravating. I like the art, the components are good, and it's a fast two-player game that's worth catching on sale. I'll keep my eye open for additions on sale as well to keep growing the cardpool.
This seems like a much better version of the classic card game "war". In the classic game it is all luck, which is not the case for this game. There is a bit of luck with the Oracles' abilities, but it's the perfect amount in my opinion. In any case, you build up your side with cards that have an attack/defense value and unique abilities (which can trigger at varying stages, depending on the card) and try to best your opponent when a war breaks out. It's quick to play and a great game to play a few rounds of in a row if you're not up for a heavy game.
