The On Cloudmonster is a neutral and all-round running shoe from On aimed at maximum cushioning and comfort for every workout. Whether you're planning a long run, a short recovery run or just your daily training run, the On Cloudmonster can always attract you. The On Cloudmonster is the superlative in terms of cushioning compared to the On Cloudflyer and the On Cloudstratus. This latest model from On has Max CloudTec cushioning, these are the largest CloudTec elements ever. This cushioning gives a soft landing and a lot of energy return. The Cloud elements, the "clouds" that you see in the sole, work together to distribute the pressure that arises during the impact of the landing over the entire foot. The CloudTec technology in the Cloudmonster works together with Helion superfoam and a custom Speedboard, which is a plastic plate, that provides stability and an explosive push-off to the forefoot. This push-off to the forefoot is also stimulated by the round shape of the sole. The upper of the On Cloudmonster is soft and pleasant. The thin shoe lip fits comfortably around the foot. The On Cloudmonster is made from more than 30% recycled materials. For example, the insole and the upper are made of recycled polyester.

These shoes are great! My introduction to On Cloud was the CloudUltra 2, which were OK. I decided I wanted more cushion for everyday running and decided to give these a go. The height felt interesting at first, but I quickly adjusted and I'm in love. Just be mindful of sizing, as these run on the roomier side. In the CloudUltras, my usual size 9 was rather tight. In the CloudMonsters, I was swimming in size 9. I switched to an 8.5 and they're so perfect that I ordered a second pair in white for the summer. Highly recommend!

These are great, and super lightweight and comfortable out of the box! They even performed great on the trail. Also that white and orange color scheme looks absolutely fire, and I love the polka dotted shoelaces!I'm not usually into maximally cushioned shoes, but I honestly really liked these. They are super light, but have tons of support too as another Gearhead mentioned - a nice stiff sole with a cushy footbed. They were even supportive enough for my feet and ankles to hit the trail. Not rock plate needed with that thick cushioned, protective sole! On Cloud has extensive tech in their air light sole - they are known as a top designer in this space for a reason and where they get the name from! My feet never got too hot. These Monsters ventilate and breathe super well, which is important for me. They are also very responsive, so I was able to be precise on the trail. Also great for just strolling around the neighborhood. Did I mention how fire they look? I mean, just check out the pics! Also run true to size for my size 10 foot.

I thought these shoes would have to be comfortable with that big cushion but when I first tried to wear them the left shoe hurt the ball of my foot. It felt like a lump that was a defect of some kind in the shoe. Then I decided I had to wear them anyway as they cost too much to just not use. So I tried again. I got on the treadmill. They kill my Achilles tendon. My heels hurt so badly I literally can’t walk in them. So I thought ok maybe just try to wear them out casually. Nope same thing. They just hurt so bad I can’t wear them at all. So now I’m out $180 for a pair of shoes that are just setting in a box and I had to go buy another pair of shoes to actually use. It’s been 4 months since I purchased them so nothing I can do about it. I wish ON would accept them ... MoreI thought these shoes would have to be comfortable with that big cushion but when I first tried to wear them the left shoe hurt the ball of my foot. I wish ON would accept them back as defects since I just can’t wear them at all, but they say you have to return at point of purchase. So I’m out of luck. I just purchased some new ASICS gel nimbus 25’s. They feel much better straight out of the box. Hopefully I can get back to my treadmill workouts now. I gave 2 stars because they have good color choices and are nice looking shoes, but if you can’t wear them I don’t know what it matters. I do not recommend these shoes to anyone.

I am a recreational ultra runner, so far I only took these on a 5 mile trial run so these are initial impressions. I have wide yogi feet, for road running shoes I usually get brooks or Hoka and for trail running I wear Altra. Pros on this shoe: very lightweight, springy soles that are not too squishy so they still feel stable. I think the padding will be nice on my feet on long runs. Tread feels better than I expected but I haven't tried it on wet pavement yet. The big downside to this shoe is that the heel doesn't feel structured/grippy enough, so it's a potential hotspot for longer runs. I don't have skinny ankles or a narrow heel so this isn't usually a problem for me. I'm going to get some heel grip inserts to help this. I think if I were going to buy a road running shoe in this price range again I'd probably just get Hokas. But overall not a bad shoe! And if you want them for a job where you're on your feet all day I think they'd be perfect.
I continually purchase the Monster style of OC. They are extra cushy and easy on my joints. I use them for running on roads and paths. They are very comfortable and bouncy. I don't do any worrying about my feet hurting because they fit well. Before I found these I had joint and back pain during and certainly after my runs. I've been using them for about five years now. I do compare them now and then with the other major cushioning brands. I keep coming back to monsters because the others hurt my toes. My only complaint would be the open tunnel along the soles. It collects rocks and mud. They are kind of hard to keep clean if you get off the pavement.
I'm definitely a fan of these shoes after recently starting to run on the treadmill with Brooks Glycerine and on the trails with Hoka Speedgoat trail shoes. I was fortunate to have the chance to acquire several pairs of shoes after committing to this journey, and even though I enjoy my Brooks Glycerine, I later tried on the On Cloudstratus which seemed to be a game changer for me, so much so that I did a little more research and found that for my criteria (I'm a heavier runner) I might benefit even more from the Cloudmonster.I am convinced that this shoe is the *only* reason I am able to be participating in my "couch to 5k" efforts again. Running with these has me running without knee pain, without blistering and without as much effort as I had perceived in the past. As I move through some milestones, especially the weight loss milestones, I believe that almost any shoe would be way greater than adequate for me as a runner. For reference, I am 6'3" and I weighed 260lbs when I started. I'm now just over 250lbs hoping to move closer to 220lbs over time. Whether this happens or not, the fact that I went through so many running struggles prior to finding On shoes leads me to believe that On was my solution for the given situation I am approaching from.I had a several years old pair of Brooks (Ghost) that is a size 11 and fits great. After running for the first time after the fact several years later in those shoes, I found the cushioning to be inadequate.I stopped by Fleet Feet and found some amazing Brooks Glycerine, but the size of this current lineup for me was a 12. My Hoka trail shoes are also a 12. For On, my size is 11.5. The point of this is that you should absolutely stop by your local Fleet Feet to try some On so you can find your correct fit as it could vary slightly from the other brands you might have already Once you find your size in On, you can order online and the sizing is consistent across the brand. I now have Cloudstratus, Cloudmonster and Cloudaway in my lineup and every one of those shoes has helped me to ease into running a bit more quickly than any other brand so far.I look forward to my continued experience with these shoes! If you are a heavier runner just starting out, you may want to start with these. You can even do a bit of research and you will find that quite a few "on their feet all day" professionals wear On shoes just because of the level of comfort they provide from even just standing in place for a significant amount of time. To me, that translates into "these *also* make quite a difference when running on hard flat surfaces and/or the treadmill."
These shoes are amazing. I have always purchased this brand for all my running shoes. I thought I would try the new cloudmonster 2 as I had the older model. I have to say first impressions were good! Super cushiony, responsive and light in comparison to the older version. However, this shoe DOES run big! I had to exchange to half a size smaller. So I am usual a size 8, I went to a size 7.5 - I had no troubles doing this with Sportitude, but I wished they had mentioned this in their description. I went into the brand's website and it is actually suggested by them to go a size smaller. Otherwise, I can't fault them. Another thing to mention is they fit my custom made orthotics with no issues at all. I would definitely buy again from Sportitude.
The BEST cloudmonster!!! I’ve tried on the original cloudmonster as well as the cloudmonster hyper. Neither worked for my feet. I also didn’t like the feel of the cushion in the hyper.But. These cloudmonster 2 shoes are easily my favorite of the shoes I’m running in now. Love the cushion. They are wide enough for my feet. And there is padding around the ankle and heel that makes them comfortable. I can run slow and easy. I can also pick up the pace and fly. Love these shoes. For reference I’ve also run in Cloudstratus 3 which fit great and the Cloudsurfer which I liked a lot but were a bit narrow. Cloudsurfer were good for shorter runs on cooler days when my feet don’t swell. But the Cloudmonster 2 I can run long or short and in any temperature. I never bought real running shoes. It does make running comfortable. I would always get blisters or even feel rocks in my runs using new balances or nike (they weren't designed to run long distances but of a casual shoe). I was really debating on spending almost 200 on these shoes but I defineitly recommend! They felt weird at first. I am not used to the rolling forward design but as soon as you run, you feel lighter and faster. I get anxious on what size I should get. Usually I run in between a 5.5 and a 6. I got the 6 and the fit perfect! Exactly the right size! If you are looking to commit to running. This is the shoe!
These shoes were super comfortable. Very cushioned footbed. Ample room in toe box but not sloppy. Does not feel like toe area drops off when walking, if you know what I mean. My only problem was that the heel cup was too deep for me. After wearing around the house they started to rub on ankle bone area so I had to return. I also had to size up half size from my normal size. I ordered 2 other OC at the same time. The Eclipse, which was too spongy and sloppy feeling and I also returned, and the Cloudsurfer, which I absolutely LOVE and kept.
