If it ain't broken, don't fix it. These are an amazing pair of shoes. They have the right amount of plushiness with the right amount of responsiveness. They are better suited for tempo runs as you need to keep a good cadence and form in order to maximize the spring board in them. They are also very comfortable with a wide toe box with its very important to me.

I purchased the shoe for a half marathon. I wanted a cushion shoe that was lightweight. I recently switched to this brand after wearing Brooks for the last 3 years (On Cloud short distance). Not unhappy with Brooks, just wanted to try new technology. I like the lightweight shoe and thought I might like the version with more cushion. Plus with the RRS 90 day guarantee you can't lose! This was a good decision as the feel and cushion are perfect. I am 5-10, 190 pounds, and run mostly 10k or half. I am also 65 years old so protecting against injury is a priority. My only negative is the shoe color is kind of ugly.

I'm an athlete and have done quite a bit of research on my next running shoe. On cloud kept coming up and after purchasing these and getting my feet into them for my first long walk and a 5 K run, I now know why. From stability to comfort hands down the best I have felt. Altitude sports got them to me in next to no time and I've been in them every day ever since. Great buyThey are true to size and for wide feet, these are great.

These are one of my favourite runnings shoes! They feel comfortable out-of-the-box, with a quite wide toe box and a very breathable upper material. The heel cage is sturdy and offers a lot of support without hurting my feet. The double-layer cushioning helps a lot with the mitigation of pain during very long runs. These are not the lightest shoes (the weight on the description should state 305 g, in accordance with On's website), because of its deeper midsole (8 mm). It also looks quite bulky. In comparison to other shoes I have had (e.g. Kinvara 8 and 9, Nike Free Run 5.0, ASICS Kayano and Mizuno Wave), these ones were the ones that lasted the longest: I have just made 800 km with my current pair, and only recently I felt that it is time to retire them. For the first time, this has not happened because of wear and holes on the upper or outsole. Half of the lifetime of these shoes was spent on some quite rough paths and during Montréal's salty wintery sidewalks.A last point: that larger space in the outsole of these On shoes tends to pick up larger rocks, and it can become annoying. These are OK for gravel, but with time, you will see yourself avoiding larger crushed stones on your path.
Definitely recommend going a half size up for these. The shoe has great cushion, and the colourway is really nice to look at aesthetically. Alas, I ended up returning them instead of exchanging for a half size up - after trying them on at home I realized that I would likely prefer another pair of Saucony shoes to use as my daily work horse runner. These are definitely nice though and I look forward to trying another pair of on shoes, though I'll likely be purchasing them as a casual daily shoe.
I have wide feet and plantar fascitis and these shoes have been the only pair that have worked really well for me. I can run without getting that pain in my foot and the toebox width is really nice for how wide my feet are (Nike's are painfully narrow, New Balance E width is only okay). The cushioning on these shoes aren't super squishy as they claim, but it's a comfortable firm. If you're looking for Ultraboost levels of cushioning, this isn't the shoe for you. What I found interesting is that the upper has a remarkable quality of being able to reflect the color temperature of the light you're in. Most times it reflects a blueish hue of daylight 5600k temperatures.I would absolutely get these shoes again especially since On Cloud seems to be the only shoes that works with my plantar fasciitis.
Excellent fit for my size 13 wide feet. No problems with taylor Bunions I usually have with many shoes. Not as cushioned as I would like but still felt pretty good on a 7 mile run( 8.30 pace w/ mix of hills and intervals to test). Prefer lots of forefoot cushion for 62 year old knees. I prefer my Hoka Bondi 6's and NB Fresh Foam More a bit more. Definitely not too soft, good protection in the forefoot. The lacing system is strange but kept me locked in fine.Surprised there is no removable insole just a very thin glue in one. There is room for an added insole which I require and used in test.
These are my second pair of this Cloudstratus model since I loved the first pair so much I got a second pair in this new color. These are the best stability running shoes I have owned. Used to run in only Nike's and I am thankful that Road Runner introduced me to On's. They are truly worth the price.
The shoe has a bit of a hard feel to it on strikedown. But I like the firmness in the forefoot. It has a better arch than most other brands. The sizing issue was the width. I found it too narrow and had to return it to buy the wide width only available from the manufacturer. Its peculiar because the waterproof version was plenty wide. But in the non-waterproof I needed the wide fit and the 2 shoes seemed to fit differently in terms of width.
The Cloudstratus has been my to-go running shoes for the past 4 years! The previous model felt comfortable out-of-the-box, had a wide toe box and a breathable upper material. Because the outer material of the toe-box was made of a thin plastic layer, it was also resistant and offered protection when hitting my foot onto something hard. The shoes were not the lightest but the cushioning was excellent, and it was great for long-distance runs!On recently upgraded the shoes and launched the new generation of the Cloudstratus. When I heard they had removed some of the protective and stability material to ditch some weight from the shoes, I was a bit skeptical and afraid that my new pairs would last less and that I would not like them anymore. So far, I stand corrected: ... MoreThe Cloudstratus has been my to-go running shoes for the past 4 years! The previous model felt comfortable out-of-the-box, had a wide toe box and a breathable upper material. When I heard they had removed some of the protective and stability material to ditch some weight from the shoes, I was a bit skeptical and afraid that my new pairs would last less and that I would not like them anymore. So far, I stand corrected: these shoes are still very comfortable, out-of-the-box. The heel cage is a bit shorter but still offers a quite secure feeling. The upper material is still very breathable but is now covered with a bit more resistant lining. The combo with the double CloudTec cushioning (the two layers of holes that you can see) and the sturdy Speedboard offer a cushioned, yet responsive run. There is less rubber in the outsoles than in the original version of the Cloudstratus. I always used all the rubber in the front and back of the shoes, but this happened beyond the time I had to switch them for new shoes.I purchased the new White - Green - Black colour and it looks super pretty. However, it has gotten stubbornly dirty after a few rainy and wintery runs.I highly recommend these shoes if you are looking for cushioned and comfortable long-run shoes.
