I always have issue with regular shoes squishing my toes. My foot size is 8.5 E and I typically order a size 9D for regular shoes. I have a couple of On shoes which I sized up to 9.5 but for this model size 9 suffice.Have worn this shoe for about a month now with about 50k in mileage and my feet absolutely love them. Couple of people don't like the firm feel but for me it's firm in the right places. Might buy another one next season

Comfortable shoes to cruise around town in, however the tread structure of the shoe grabs loose gravel in my driveway before I ever go for a hike.With this shoe, I find a lot of random rocks inside my house, my car and on my sidewalk after packing my car.Hiking in these shoe isn’t bad/or great. Twigs and rocks get stuck in the tread which probably affects the way the shoe is suppose to flex.So for those reasons, these shoes are more about fashion and less about overall function.Overall, these shoes seem to be better suited for a hike around your neighborhood with, perhaps a few dirt trails and less about seeking out to hiking the Pacific Crest Trail.

The Cloudflow was my first entry into On products after sticking with Asics for years. A primary reason for leaving Asics was a sense of ever declining build quality, which at first pass at a local cycling/running shop, the On brand seemed to deliver. Immediately the shoes were noted as very comfotable, plush, springy, and wrapped my foot well. I have low arches and wide feet which admittedly this shoe was not ideal for but I was looking for a casual athletic shoe that was comfortable, offered good cushion, and looled great. Yes the outsole is an entirely different design approach but the fabrics on the Kayano are pilled but not worn through after way way more than 500 miles of mixed use.In summary, if you need a mild use shoe that is cheaper than an Ultraboost and looks just as good in the gym as as out in town than the Cloudflow is a solid pick. However for longterm durability and if you ever get within a foot of gravel, look elsewhere.

I went into my first pair of ONs with high hopes. I’m a long time customer of Brooks but I’ve seen many friends, family and co-workers love them. I purchased this pair in advance of a trade show where I walked over 50k steps in 3 days. Initially they were great. The first day was was quite happy. Once I get to day 2 and ultimately 3 not so much. I felt less support and my feet became quite sore. This may be something unique to me but I can only speak to my experience. At this point I’m not sure if I wills buy another pair but I’ll get the most I can out this pair.
I loved my on cloud running shoes that I have had in the past. They are instantly good and despite putting hundreds of miles on them a year they usually last over a year. When I tried these new shoes on they felt light like my other ones but really uncomfortable at first. I had to run a good 50 or 60 miles on them before I felt them getting more comfortable. I wasn't used to this. Even to this day they still aren't extremely comfortable and I occasionally have foot pain after going about 5 or 6 miles. I purchased new shoes just because these on cloud shoes still aren't the most comfortable.
I was so excited to get my first ever pair of ON branded shoes after seeing so many people wearing them and also hearing lots of good things about the company in general and especially of their comfort...I'm on my feet all day. I don't use these shoes for anything really but for everyday use and also work (Ocular Healthcare Industry)...so I would've expected them to last longer without the excessive wear that they're showing. Not even close to a year old... And the fabric is coming undone, the threads are loose and separating from binding two pieces of fabric on the shoe. And I'm just overall shocked at the fact that the cost of these shoes and the fact that they aren't used and abused as they're intended to be... I was the biggest ON avocate for years before the were popular. The cloudrunner (defunct line) was the thing dreams are made of. They took away my back and knee pain. Why did those not sell well? They were god aweful ugly. They then went to the cloudcruiser. These looked great and had the same some (different foam desity than the runner I believe), but the upper was so poorly made I would put dime size holes in them within a month (wore 3 pairs). I wore the 1st pair of cloudrunners for almost 3 years, well after I should have been out of them. The cloudsurfer survives, but only in look as the latest line fixed the issue of pushing your forward when standing and would tear out a front loop in a couple of months. None have succeeded and these are the worst of the shoes I've tried. The cloudace and cloudstratus are definitely for running only and you can tell as the stratus is slanted forward and the ace has a very curved bottom so you can't find a spot where much of your foot is sharing the load of your bodys' weight at any given time. At least those shoes had nice cushioned insoles (though insole material will break down quickly). These cloudflow shoes, like the title says, feel like walking on bricks. My wife also had a pair and said they weren't as comfortable as the old cloudsurfers (by a lot in my opinion) and they broke down quickly. I'm done with ON. I can't afford $150 for pair of shoes that last 3-4 months. I am a casual runner and probably 20 lbs over weight. I'm not olympic athlete. If you can't build a shoe for me I need to find a new brand that will.

To be honest, flip flops have the advantage of allowing the foot work the way it was designed and absorb the shock using the arch, metatarsals and musculature. (But no, I can't do the barefoot running thing, I need shoes for running) When you confine your feet into a restrictive shoe, your feet rely more on the engineering of the shoe. When restricted this way, my running shoes need more cushioning. To be fair, I am 6'4" and over 200lbs. For someone with less weight to move around, these shoes may have enough cushioning.
Bought these for a trip to Europe where I knew I would be walking a lot. They look nice and they are light weight, but aside from that, these are the worst shoes I have ever bought. These shoes made my feet, ankles and knees hurt like no other shoe I have ever worn. Thank goodness for the REI member's return policy.The more people I talk to who own On running shoes, the more that I find out that no one actually thinks they are comfortable. Somehow they have become super popular despite being terribly uncomfortable.
Buying my second pair. First pair i used on the daily for warehouse work. Yeah wasn't ideal but proved that the little pads on the sole degrade and rip off after a few months of heavy use, which sucks (maybe planned obsolesce or crap design/material). However for an everyday casual shoe these are awesome. I have high arches and the soft support inside was niiice esp with the minimal flat tongue design.. genius. Wouldn't say these would hold up for running esp not on pavement! Look for another brand if you're needing runners.. On's soles will deteriorate way to quick with the ridged foam cloud pocket designs and render these beauts useless after a few months.
