The On Cloudmonster is a neutral and all-round running shoe from On aimed at maximum cushioning and comfort for every workout. Whether you're planning a long run, a short recovery run or just your daily training run, the On Cloudmonster can always attract you. The On Cloudmonster is the superlative in terms of cushioning compared to the On Cloudflyer and the On Cloudstratus. This latest model from On has Max CloudTec cushioning, these are the largest CloudTec elements ever. This cushioning gives a soft landing and a lot of energy return. The Cloud elements, the "clouds" that you see in the sole, work together to distribute the pressure that arises during the impact of the landing over the entire foot. The CloudTec technology in the Cloudmonster works together with Helion superfoam and a custom Speedboard, which is a plastic plate, that provides stability and an explosive push-off to the forefoot. This push-off to the forefoot is also stimulated by the round shape of the sole. The upper of the On Cloudmonster is soft and pleasant. The thin shoe lip fits comfortably around the foot. The On Cloudmonster is made from more than 30% recycled materials. For example, the insole and the upper are made of recycled polyester.

Had to back off on my training to cure sacroillitis in both hips, but was looking for a transition shoe to help me get back up and moving again.Needed max cushioning to control discomfort and tried Hoka Clifton first. Loved the wide stance, and soft plush ride but it was too mushy. Full disclosure... there was also a vanity element to ditching the Clifton... to my observation, it has become the unofficial footwear choice of senior citizens. Please upgrade the sockliner to ortholite. I pulled, trimmed and replaced the original with the Clifton sockliner and it made a notable difference on step in feel.I have a few other pair of On shoes that I wear strictly wear just for casual, but the cloud monster if finally the first On product that I can actually run in. I strongly recommend this product and look forward to some productive miles to come.

Just buy them. Walking on an actual could. Iām not an avid OnCloud fan myself. Iāve had other styles and they were nice but not better than other popular sneaker/tennis shoe manufacturers. But THESE. NOTHING LIKE IT. Better than any Hokas or Brooks Iāve ever had. Just buy them. You wont regret it.

These super-buoyant runners are fantastic for long duration walks or runs. I have found myself not wanting to take them off. That said, there are a couple of things that you will want to know before buying them.1) They run about a half size small, so make sure to try them on and get a good feeling for them.2) Their heel incline is higher than most shoes and will work your mid-calves a little differently, so be prepared to āfeel itā.3) They are a little āsquishyā and provide a feeling of a little more horizontal movement than more stiff runners. In my case, the pros have caused me to wear the Cloudmonsters almost non-stop.

Nice shoe for long runs and walks. Comfortable to wear. You roll through the toe nicely. The cushion and bounce underneath makes for a comfortable ride especially when out for longer runs or walks. I did find I had to size up and the toe box is just barely wide enough for me. I am actually womens 9.5 and took a menās 9. It is just long enough and wide enough. I usually take an 8.5 mens in On in order to get the toe box wide enough so to me these fit just slightly smaller than other On styles on my feet. I do have a narrow heel and have had no issue with heel rubbing.
I'd waited to get some miles under my belt with this show before attempting a review. For trails I've been using Cloudultra as I like On's shoes off trail as they're a little more firm and therefore better feedback. When it came to the road this firmness translated to harshness for myself. Id been using Hoka but never really been the best shoe for me. I was very excited to read the reviews that this shoe was soft, especially with the weather turning and more road than trail work ahead.Great fit and feel straight from the box and much softer ride for my feet compared to On's other road shoes. The profile is noticeably higher than the road shoes but my foot feels secure, no bouncing or twisting going on. I'd read reviews that people had to change their running style in these but no issues thus far from myself. The outsole doesn't have those more traditional grooves that are characteristic of On, which thus far means less stones picked up, noting ore annoying to your cadence than the click click of stones picked up by that older outer sole.A light shoe for the degree of cushioning and a very secure toe box.So a thorough 5 star from myself. Apologies as I can't comment on how long they'll last but they seem to be of the same high quality I've found with On over the years.
Full disclosure: a member of my family works for On Running.I've been running in Hoka shoes (mostly Bondis and Cliftons) for 12 years. As a Clydesdale runner, I definitely tend toward maxium cushioning shoes. When the time came for me to retire my Clifton 7s, a family member recommended the Cloudmonster to me. Truth be told, I have always thought of On as more of a "lifestyle" shoe company. (Which is slightly ironic, because they have one of the top pro track teams in the world.) But I hoped to be swayed by this shoe recommendation.I paid the (very high) full retail price at my local retailer (not REI in this case) for this shoe in the "Undyed-White" colorway (which looks amazing, I might add, but is sadly not available at REI). The moment I slipped it on -- OH THE COMFORT! I hadn't gotten this excited about the comfort of a sneaker since the Nike Air Huaraches from the mid-90s. On top of that, despite my wide, high-volume feet, regular sizing worked out for me in both my actual size as well as my "half-size up" size. My hopes were high. But that's where the excitement ends. I did 3 5k runs in these, and my reaction each time was the same: they feel dead. I felt like I was doing extra work on each stride -- surprising, considering how light they are. Now, I'm not one to get too hung up on "energy return" and similar buzzwords, but I just never felt like these shoes were really helping to propel me forward, and as each run went on, the deadness progressively killed my motivation. So, despite really liking the comfort and aesthetics of this shoe, I returned them after a week, and went back to Clifton 9s. They may not look as good as the Cloudmonsters, but for my intended use as a daily running shoe, the Hokas continue to perform reliably for me.
These are the most comfortable shoes Iāve ever purchased. Right out of the box comfort! I purchased a size 11.5, and they fit perfectly with enough room for my toes to move comfortably. The sole on these shoes is amazing. Plush, but not too soft. You will not regret buying these. In addition, theyāre extremely light despite their bulky appearance.
I have previously suffered from compartment syndrome on my shins but have worn Adidas Boost for past years with no issues.I purchased these as I had tried in-store and the cushioning under foot felt great.Unfortunately the amount of compression in the midsole caused my compartment syndrome to return rendering me unable to run/walk. I have returned to my Adidas Boost without issue.Really disappointed as I thought the extra cushioning would improve underfoot comfort but it had the opposite effect. Now Iāve got a hardly warm pair of shoes that are of no benefit. š
This is the best ON shoe in a long time. Great roll through your gait, good cushioning, very stable and has a good range for training. I take these on my long easy runs, but, I also use them on my tempo runs. These shoes have a good range from 8 min mile to 6 min mile. I would go to your regular size on these. With the limited upper use a runner's knot for good lock down. I also use thicker socks as the tongue is very minimal. But, I rotate 3 pair and have had one pair last to 500mi. It seems they changed the heel cup a bit, the older version was a bit lower on the sides and seemed more cushioned, the newer models rub me a bit on my bony ankles. But, they are my go to shoes up to 18 mi. I'm a midfoot striker running about 38 miles a week currently.
Very light in weight and very comfortable. I had compliments from my colleagues and friends that it looks nice and comfy. I recommended them to buy this shoes particularly the On Cloudmonster model . I had my co-worker fit my shoes and have the feel of it and she loved it. So she said she will buy one for her and for her kids. I highly recommend the On Cloudmonster especially if youāre constantly walking and long standing at work. I just wish this model comes with more colors.
