These shoes were great for the first month. I do some light running and wear them to work some as I’m on my feet throughout the day. After a month they lost a lot of their support and the inside lining was disintegrating. I continued to wear them and telling myself it was ok but they just really start to fail me. 6 months in and the shoes feel completely dead and the toe box on one has fallen apart completely. My wife got Ultras the same day I bought these and she runs a lot more than I do and her shoes still look new and are in great shape. Bummed that $140 shoe didn’t last hold up.

I purchased a pair of Cloudvista shoes on 3-25-22, and was hoping they would serve as my trail running shoe. After putting about 30 miles on them running on a treadmill, last week I decided to use them for a road/trail run. When I completed the run, the white shoes had some mud spray that was on the exterior of the shoe. However, after several attempts to clean the shoes, I am unable to do get them clean. With the cost being what it is and the shoes being advertised as trail shoes, I would have thought this would not be an issue. It's unfortunate, the quality is lacking particularly because I like the color scheme of the shoe.If you're wearing them inside and not on the trail - Get them. Bought this shoe for kicking around Denver metro and Colorado over the summer. Within two weeks the fabric around the front of the entry was frayed on both sides. I've never seen a shoe wear in that location before. The shoe was not that comfortable and the fabric micro-fine mesh upper would trap dirt inside of it that was impossible to remove or wash out. After about a month it had collected dirt and debris that could not be removed. Overall, very unhappy with the On shoe's. This was my first try with the brand. Won't be buying again.

Given the hype around ON shoes and seemingly every other person is wearing a pair, thought I'd give the brand a try. Big mistake. These are not only the worst running shoes I've ever worn but close to the worst shoes I've worn. First, the shoes run extremely small. Had to size up a whole size, Even then the shoes are narrow and the toe box is crowded. Second, as others have mentioned, the shoes start to squeak within a couple days of wearing. Lastly, the quality is terrible. Walked through a couple airports and the materials started wearing out even before I hit the trails. Would never trust these on trail. Luckily, REI has a great return policy and I was able to exchange for Brooks Cascadia trail shoes, which are tried and true trail runners. Skip these and look ... Purchased two weeks ago through a non REI store. While the shoe is categorized as a Trail Shoe, it is far from a trail shoe. The shoe is a minimalist shoe and does not have a rock plate. This means your feet will feel every ground irregularity, pebble or rock. I did a couple of 2-3 mile hikes on a packed gravel roads and my feet never hurt more. In my opinion the shoes are better suited for Mall walking.
I've been a loyal fan of ON for many years, and I am so glad they finally came out with one in muted colors. These have significantly more cushioning compared to the Cloud X and Cloud Flow. I've only used these for casual daily wear since the MIDNIGHT/OLIVE color goes with pretty much everything; I also prefer wide-toe box trail running shoes. I have not experienced any deteriorating fabric issues mentioned in other reviews. Still, that issue could be related to an individual's walking/running mechanics. ORDER A HALF SIZE UP. I am a 9.5 in every pair of ON's I own except this one.
These shoes are absolutely terrible. The upper is 2-layer mesh, which makes them breathable, but also means dirt immediately gets trapped and no amount of washing will get them clean. After the first trail run these white shoes were brown from dirt. Then there’s the comfort. First, the band across the top of the foot, over the tongue, is far too tight. Also, even with the band across the foot they don’t lace high enough to lock in your heels properly. Combine that with the oddly-padded rear support covered in a slick leatherette-like material, and you get a shoe that fits like a floppy slipper and the rear end rubs blisters after any serious usage.
This is the quickest I've ever decided to return a pair of shoes. Within just a week of wear, these shoes have developed a terrible squeak each step I take. Embarrassing for me, and disgraceful for this company to be selling such a low quality show for this price. I feel scammed. I ignored the other negative reviews (silly me), when I should have trusted other peoples' bad experiences. Don't make the same mistake I did... look at other options. I am very thankful for REI's return policy, but it would be better if they didn't sell junk like this in the first place.
Things I love about these: the really thin tongue and upper that make these feel lightweight and breathable. Upper fits nicely on my foot.Things I'm not sure on: the heel cup feels kinda low vs. other shoes and my heel slips a little at times despite being almost certain these are the right size for me. Still trying out different ways to tieing and lacing to minimize this. Grip on slick rocks is just OK.Haven't been using these to run just yet, hiking only so far, but did alright on some Vermont peaks this summer.
Different feet, different reviews. I walk about about six miles per day. From REI, I’ve purchased three brands: Brooks, Solomon and Cloudvista. Brooks gets a one star; lack of quality. Solomon fit best; I did not need to buy an insert arch support. Cloudvista fit my feet just fine. However, I needed to buy an insert (Super Feet) to keep my heel positioned. That was the only reason I gave the Cloudvista four stars.
