Our softest, max-cushioned running shoe is ready to hit the road. Featuring a double layer of CloudTec Phase for a smooth, plush ride. With our thickest midsole and softest cushioning yet, the Cloudeclipse takes your comfort levels to new heights. As your feet land, the double layer of CloudTec Phase cushioning collapses in sequence to absorb impact. The result? A smooth roll-through from heel to toe. And a plush, pillowy ride. The Cloudeclipse isn't just eye-catching. It's also water-saving. That's because the shoe's yarn is dope dyed, a coloring process that uses 90% less water than standard dyeing techniques. For bonus points, the yarn itself is made using 100% recycled polyester. Win, win. Made using Helion superfoam, the ultra-thick midsole protects against heavy impact without weighing you down. This means happy joints and fresh legs – even on the longest runs. A flexible Speedboard adds stability and guidance, while the engineered mesh upper delivers a breathable and secure fit.

Lots of cushion. Since the speed ordinance is on the bottom of the sole it lets a lot of compression to occur. I use a semi flexible semi custom cork insoles and the are very comfortable. Much softer than the monsters.like this heel drop too. Don't think I would have enough control though to run. Feel as though they would bottom out. I am 235. The sole is the same durometer regardless of size I am sure. So if you are lighter they will definitely feel and perform differently.

Great Shoe.Had the Cloudmonster version 1 first (highly cushioned, fast and comfortable neutral shoe, also recommend). Almost bought the new version of CM but then got convinced to try this Cloudeclipse version 1.I like it slightly more than the cloudmonster 1 because:+ more responsive+ also more cushioned+ better laces + stronger hold+ fast feel

I was lucky and found these in Re-supply 2 weeks after they released for $72.84. They replaced one month old Asics Gel-Excite 10's which I thought were soft and cushioning, there's no comparison in terms of comfort and the amount of joint impact these have reduced, the difference is huge. I went from running 5k before I felt hammered to 2 - 10k runs this past week. In the short time I've had these I already put 70 miles on them in less time than the Asics. The Asics will become my walking shoes.

These replaced my Hoka Clifton 9s because they have toebox space without sacrificing the lockdown. I found the hoka tight and my feet were sore even though the cushioning was good on the hoka. Now with the eclipse I get actually more cushioning and stability due to the speed board. My feet no longer are sore and therefore I’m able to put more miles on these with ease. I’m a fast walker and steady jogger and do a minimum of 5 miles daily. I noticed that my stride was straighter with the eclipse, in my hoka I seemed to have to correct my stride every now and then. The eclipse in my opinion is better looking so it is my all day shoe, a lifestyle, walking, running, and gym shoe. I’ve put about 350 miles on them and they still look great.
I'm coming off of injury and 3 weeks of Covid, so I'm still building my miles. However, I'm getting close to base-level and feel I can rate these shoes now. I've run in softer max-cushion shoes, but the fit and sole shape makes this pair the smoothest-running shoe I've had in recent years. The quality is excellent, and the fit of the upper is perfect for me. I'm currently rotating with a pair of Vomeros (trying again after several years) and the On shoes, although not as soft, are more comfortable on my ~5.5 mile runs. I will buy these again.
I am serious runner and this is a legit review. After much reviewing and analysis I landed on these shoes. They are worth every penny out of the box they fit like a glove but wide enough toe box for most people. I am a midfoot striker and like shoes with a low heel to toe drop even though these shoes are at 6 mm they feel like 4 or less. Actually running you pay for ON technology and these shoes have it. First run was 6 mi and a fartlek rebound was superb even on the hard/fast efforts next was a 20 miler all on pavement. Awesome. These are truly excellent recommend to my fellow marathoners.
As an older runner who has had recurring injuries I purchased the eclipse with some skepticism. The reviews I had read—almost all of them were very positive. I’m thrilled to report that On Cloud have given us a seriously good running shoe. It has a softness on landing but you also feel a great connection to the surface. In addition it provides excellent support and stability. The eclipse has now replaced my Brooks adrenaline as my go to running shoe. Wearing the eclipse has renewed my passion for running.
I used my Anniversary Sale coupon for this item and was very excited to receive them. Unfortunately, upon opening the box, it was extremely clear that these shoes had been used. I know shoes occasionally get worn in stores and receive some light dirt pick-up, but these look like someone took them out for a 10k and decided to return them. The soles (see photos) are clearly dirty. The bright orange color the bottoms are supposed to be is brown with dirt. Even the mid-bridge has dirt on it. Highly disappointed in this purchase and will need to reconsider ordering shoes from REI. With great customer service policies unfortunately comes people using them to their full advantage. I am very disappointed REI would sell this as a 'new' item and hope they can help me resolve ... MoreI used my Anniversary Sale coupon for this item and was very excited to receive them. These are very comfortable shoes and I really like the look, so I purchased two pairs (Light Gray/Neon and Gray/Black). This is my first purchase of OnClouds after all the positive feedback I've heard. After no much use at all, one pair is beginning to wear a hole by my big toe and already wore through the sock liner. There is plenty of room in the shoe as I bought 12's vs. 11.5s and fits fine. Toenail is also short and not causing the issue. I'm worried the other pair will start to wear a hole soon. They also squeak. For $180 each, you would think the quality would be better and they would have found these issues in testing before selling them to the masses. I won't be purchasing any more OnClouds at this point unless I see a big improvement in their quality and ... MoreThese are very comfortable shoes and I really like the look, so I purchased two pairs (Light Gray/Neon and Gray/Black). Wanted to know what all the rage with on shoes was all about, and why are they so expensive… I tried different models, really liked the look of the cloud monster but since I started to pronate after an ankle injury they offered very little support on the inside of my foot. These are exactly what I needed. Much more supportive and soft. I needed shoes that would get me thorough high mileage runs (+20miles) and be easy on my knees. These do the job. I read some other reviews about a squeaking sound, I can see that happening due to the dominoes collapsing on the sole, but frankly I don’t care about that for what I use them for, long runs with music. Good soft support. Very true to size.
