This is my second pair of On Cloud 5 running shoes. I have many other brands in my closet but these are always my go to sneakers. Whether I am heading to the gym, going for a run or just heading to Starbucks for a coffee. They are so so light and super comfortable. I was going to try another model of On this time but didn’t want to get disappointed. The ol’ saying if its not broken then don’t fix it!!! If you are on the fence don’t be they are super awesome. As for size I typically wear a 8.5 mens and these are the same. True to size. Some refer to the toe box as being narrow. They are certainly not a wide shoe but I believe they are a regular width. My pair I am replacing developed holes on each side of the outer front near the small toe. Whether this is a common ... MoreThis is my second pair of On Cloud 5 running shoes. Whether this is a common quality issue. I did get a year of wear out of them so I certainly am not complaining! Thank you On for making the most comfortable sneakers that I have tried to date!!!

The On Cloud 5 is a great all-around shoe that is perfect for walking, and everyday wear. It is lightweight and comfortable. The shoe also has a breathable upper that keeps your feet cool.I have been wearing my On Cloud 5s for several months now and I have been very happy with how comfortable they are. I have used them walking around town and at work and they have always been comfortable for the entire day. If I had to give one con, it would be that you cannot wear these shoes if the weather is not warm and dry. If it is cold or rainy, your feet will be cold or wet since these shoes are so breathable. If you are looking for a great all-around shoe that is comfortable, supportive, and stylish, then I highly recommend the On Cloud 5.

For my use case (casual wear, light walking/hiking) I am finding this to be an very good shoe. One day out of the box I wore them for a 3.5 mile walk and my feet were completely fresh at the end. No sore spots or rubs. They came with the slip-on bungee laces in but I found them to be a bit loose so I put in the normal laces. I get some creasing of the tongue but it doesn't affect the fit. I do wish the collar was a bit higher and/or the draw around the collar was a bit more snug. Outsole is a bit softer than my Cloudstratuses. Good breathability for a waterproof shoe. Run about 0.5 size small. Haven't worn in wet weather yet so cannot speak to the quality of the waterproofing.

I bought these shoes after I’d read reviews of people raving at how amazing they are. In reality, I found them to be a bit more on the mediocre side. Mind you, I’m not a runner, I’m just a fan of comfortable shoes. With that being said, I just don’t feel like these shoes should be able to command the price tag that they do. I would say a more fair price to pay would be in the $80-$90 range. On a positive note, they do look nice, are decently comfortable, and are very lightweight. They came with the cheapest shoelaces I’ve ever encountered. They were so bad that I threw both sets away and ordered new ones on Amazon. All in all, I wouldn’t recommend these. There are much better options out there (i.e. Hoka, New Balance, etc.).
I got these as a casual, everyday walking shoe - something I could slip on and go without worrying about anything. After living with them for a few months, I'm not a fan anymore. The sole catches rocks and other debris like a car tire - I'll have to stop walking and remove whatever it's caught, or the floor of my car accumulates the debris I don't notice. And then what finally did me in was the insoles. Initially they would stick to my feet when I took them off, so I'd have to put them back in place every time, but now they squeak with every step. I can't wear them out anymore because it's so obnoxious and embarrassing. Thankful for REI and being able to return footwear!

If you’re into your eco stuff the upper shoe is 100% fully recycled. As it stands, I would recommend On footwear for the reasons explained above and I look forward to putting them to the test over the coming months from coastal walking, beach coming and general sports.
Having owned a pair of Cloudflyer's for about a year, I had high expectations for this more casual wear shoe. It wasn't to be.First off, throw both sets of shoelaces in the trash. Depending upon multiple factors (time of day, thickness of socks, etc.) the elastic laces (speed-laces) were either too loose or too tight, but rarely just right. If you trim those laces, the ends unravel and after a few days are a hot mess. The more conventional laces do NOT stay tied and I found myself constantly having to tie them over and over and over again throughout the day. Double knotting would solve, but who wants the hassle on what should be a casual wear shoe.Probably, due to the minimal cushioning in the tongue, I often find that shoes are uncomfortably tight until I'm ... MoreHaving owned a pair of Cloudflyer's for about a year, I had high expectations for this more casual wear shoe. As many positive online REI reviews of this same model attest - your mileage may vary.On a positive note, they look great, are very lightweight and other than pebble retention in the wide tread, I remain a fan of ON's CloudTec cushioning.
I bought these shoes due to all the hype and talk about their comfort. It was mostly true, they were comfortable but not $150 worth of comfortable. Prior to that I had been wearing a two year old pair of Reebok sneakers that I paid $75 for that were more comfortable and still look better than these shoes that I purchased almost four months ago. I wear them to walk my 13 year old lab (, i.e. NOT fast, at all) and to work in an office. I take them off once I'm home and repeat almost daily. On occasion I have to wear dress shoes but for the most part, I wear these. Not anymore. They are literally, falling apart. As you can see from the picture, they're not even fully laced, which gives the material plenty of room to expand and flex. DIn't matter. As you can see from the picture, they're not even fully laced, which gives the material plenty of room to expand and flex. DIn't matter. I am beyond disappointed with the quality and lack of durability, especially since I wear these while walking my old slow dog then to my car, a few steps through a parking garage and into a carpeted office. I'm not hiking in them, running or doing anything strenous. Just walking. And this is the result after four months! Granted, I'm a heavy guy at 225 lbs but come on! I cannot and do not recommend these shoes. Maybe a different model will last longer but at the prices they sell for, I'm not taking the risk.
I liked these shoes right away and though it had found my favorite brand. Unfortunately there is two major problems for which I will not order this brand anymore. The first is a general annoyance: these shoes collect pebbles and gravel more than I thought. My car’s floor mat if full of gravel and small rocks at the end of the week from these shoes collecting them on the bottom. Second and most important: they lasted 4 months! Just walking around the city, they both have holes on the side where the shoe bends at every step . So the quality here is very poor. But as I mentioned very light and comfortable.
My husband and I both got a pair of the shoes (the women’s one for me) and initially it seemed it was perfectly fine. About a couple weeks and we realized that we needed both of our feet were hurting. I had an experience this before, and everybody raves about them so I kind of just brushed it off thinking it would go away. However, my heel pain started to get worse. My husband continuously complained about his feet as well. So we decided to test other shoes out and miraculously the pain went away. So I gave the shoes a second chance, and once again my feet were on fire again. These are definitely going back. My husband is not happy, especially given the cost I would’ve expected the quality to be much more than what it was..
