Love these running shoes. I've bought 2 pairs in different colors. They're featherlight, springy, plenty of cushion for short to mid-length runs (1-5miles), and look fantastic. The only downside - it's hard to clean inside the sole holes once you get them dirty. Oh well, time for a new pair!

I was walking around New York City last weekend in a pair of black low hiking shoes with black socks. They're very comfortable, but my spouse and daughter said I didn't look very hip. We stopped in the Soho REI, and I let them pick a pair of shoes they thought looked 'cooler.' My only requirement was that they fit and feel good and would be comfortable walking several miles. They picked these out, I tried them on (definitely worth trying on, they run small), and I walked nearly 20 miles in them over the next few days. The Cloudflyer is comfortable for a lot of walking and relatively roomy - I swapped a pair of custom orthotics for the stock insole, which is forgettable. The shoe vents heat well too.

I have been suffering from plantar fasciitis for the last few months. I have not been able to walk more than one or two blocks before the pain would make me have to stop. I bought the On Cloudflyer 4 shoes because they were recommended for plantar fasciitis. Wearing them, I can walk for 3 miles with only minimal discomfort.

This is my first pair of ON’s, I have been loyal to another brand for about 25 years. I tried these because they were on sale. Out of the box, they felt comfortable but not great. They felt like they had more stability than cushion. After 1 day at the gym, they felt much better and on the second day of gym an cardio, they felt GREAT. So good, in fact, I bought another pair. I plan on switching my running shoes to ONs from now on.
I have had these shoes for roughly 3 months. My activities have included mostly casual wear. I’ve gone on approximately two or three runs of less than 2 miles duration I’ve played roughly 10 hours of Pickleball in them. However, they have multiple failures. Both shoes now have a tear in the material at the outside flexion point where the fifth toe meets the foot both sides have an opened tear. Also, the black tread on the bottom is peeling up on the right shoe. On the inside of the left shoe, the On logo is peeling up. Three months of casual wear, and only minimal exercise should never, in any case, lead to this much damage on a shoe.Furthermore, running in them is uncomfortable.
I stopped looking for a new running shoe when I found this one. I just buy the same shoe once it wears out. Each pair lasts me about 6-8 months running 2-3 miles a day 5 days a week. It’s a treat when they are brand new and super springy, but over time they do lose a little spring towards the end of the running life. Even after I don’t run in them they are still in good shape on the uppers, so now I have a bunch of different colors I wear for just every day activities. I highly recommend these shoes!
Can’t say I’m happy about spending $170 on these. They are comfortable but not durable at all and these were just a daily shoe. Within a month I began to get a tear in the fabric at the heal of the shoe. By month three I had a large hole in the heel of both shoes and the foam coming out. The rest of the shoe held up okay but at this point they aren’t even wearable with just three months of regular use. I’ve had ASICS, Adidas, and New Balance and Nike and have never had this issue even when using them for running and daily wear.
I run 20 races a year, a mix of 5k, 10k, and a few half marathons. This year I am trying to run 26 races. I am 66, 5ft. 11in., between 193 - 196 pounds. On the positive side the shoes fit without restricting or pressing on any part of the fit. Though cushiony they don't feel heavy. The outer material doesn't retain water which is great as I run in the humid south. The one negative is the gaps on the sole easily get large risks and seed balls stuck in them. A seed ball is like a walnut with spine stickers on the edges. In one race I got a stone stuck in the center and ran the race with the rock. I sounded like a tap dancer running. In another race a seed ball got stuck and I had to stop to dislodge it.Is this a major problem? Depends on if you run competitively or ... MoreI run 20 races a year, a mix of 5k, 10k, and a few half marathons. This year I am trying to run 26 races. I am 66, 5ft. 11in., between 193 - 196 pounds. I have 5 pairs, 2 of the lighter models for walking and working out. So I think not. Love the shoes and recommend you try them out. Also become a VIP member. Been one since the seventies. Save money and get some great perks.
I purchased a pair for my son $160.00, didn’t last 90 days before the sole fell apart. I would expect this from a cheap $50.00 pair. In addition the REI manager gave me some big story how they are past their effective life and only last 400 miles. Like my son has an odometer attached to his feet. REI would not exchange them and won’t stand behind the product. Fro now in you should how miles you can do in a pair of shoes you buy from REI. I won’t be buying shoes from them again!!!
I've been buying On for 3 seasons so far.Calling this season 3, I have noticed that it feels like the shoes have gotten a bit tighter. I've had to size up by half or a full size so far.Otherwise, everything remains awesome as expected from On and their quality and comfort
