The fabric on the top of the shoe immediately wore through. REI did not replace. Unfortunately, as we all have seen, REI's return policy does not cover "wear and tear" so even though this was a manufacturing issue and the shoe can be resold as worn, REI would not accept it.Moral of the story: We were an REI family/ co-op members for over 30 years but today, the store offers no value. The same products can be found significantly cheaper online. You are better off buying direct from ON.

Very stable platform without forcing your feet to align a certain way like the other stability shoes. It's protective from all sides and the tongue is thick. I feel the weight of them but for a slow to medium pace they are great and for short accelerations during HIIT sessions I didn't notice that I am slower in them. Probably too heavy for fast pace long distance runs.It fits my style of training - slow/medium pace 5 mile runs and short distance accelerations. Excellent fit and comfort was the main reason for purchasing them but if most shoes fit you well and your feet don't hurt then you should buy a lighter pair.

These shoes are perhaps the best shoes in the On Cloud collection. They have good stability system in the medial section of the shoes. Balance cushioning so that the heel does not sink on the shoes. The rocker for quick start is not very aggressive. The heel to toe drip does not seems crazy. Over all I like the fit and ride of the shoes. The upper is high quality with good lacking system and tongue. The outsoles seems good and this version has been cleaned up to avoid small stones to stuck in the cloud pod empty spaces. The shoe is not narrow and gives a nice and stable fit lots of space in the tie box area.

Yes, you may have read this review before, because it applies equally to a pair of Cloudflyer 4's I purchased at the same time. The good is these Cloudrunners instantly accommodated the shape of my foot, plus they are supportive, responsive and comfortable. The bad is that the heel cup (Achilles area) material split open after barely 100 miles. I always tightly cinch lace them and loosen them fully when before putting on or taking off, so it's not from misuse. The fabric in that area is simply not durable, proven by the same problem recurring in the two different shoe models. Only just now getting to reviewing them, but when I called RRS to seek a remedy they said I was one week past the 6-month warranty and thus would not help me. Really??? Won't buy ON shoes ... Won't buy ON shoes again, nor anything from RRS; lots of good alternatives to both.
This is my 5th pair of ON shoes so you could say I love them! That said, I only gave these 4 stars because the don't offer the same support under the ball of my foot as my two pair of CloudSwift running shoes do. I love the look, the heel support, the arch support for my high arches and everything else, but I really need cushioning under the balls of my feet. I have a bunion and although I wear a medium width, the front of my foot is wide. The toe box is great for me on every pair I've tried. I am usually a solid 6.5 but I always go up to a 7 in ON shoes and they are a good fit.
Stay away from On shoes, especially this line of shoes. Although advertised as the shoes with a lifespan of 100k miles, it torn after just over a year of low-intensity use. I wear this shoe about 2 times per week and only for casual walking and not for jogging because I have chronic pain in my left knee. And that's also the reason I chose to buy this shoe because I saw the advertisement as the most comfortable shoe. More than that, I have already recommended this brand to my wife and family. I have 2 pairs and my wife has 4 pairs of On. As you can see, The price of 1 pair of On shoes is not cheap compared to other sports shoe brands. However, the quality is disappointing. I have more than 10 pairs of other brands and none of them have had the same issue even though some I have used for more than 3 years. I checked the On Shoe's warranty and found out that these shoes come with a lifespan warranty except “defects due to the wrong fit, normal wear and tear”, so I'm not sure if they will take care for my case. From there, another problem arose. On only warranties shoes are purchased directly from their website, so On shoes purchased from other stores they are not responsible for. I went to the REI store in Olympia to ask about the warranty for my shoes but REI refused because their policy is to only guarantee products purchased within 1 year. So even if the product you buy has a lifetime warranty, REI is only responsible for 1-year warranty. If so, why should I buy from REI when I can buy the products for the same price elsewhere with better warranties? So I decided not to buy On and REI products anymore. Moreover, As you can see in the pictures, my wife's shoes are also damaged even with occasional use for daily activities. On need to improve on their product quality.
These are my second pair of ON sneakers. First pair I bought started to fall apart at less than 1 year after day of purchase. These ones are falling apart after less than 7 months, the inner lining and padding in the heel are already torn apart. I am not precisely the most avid and active runner. Certainly, there is no reason for these sneakers to fall apart so fast. Definitely, the materials used are of extremely low quality. I went to my nearest REI store (NYC), I was told that this is normal wear and tear. Thus, I was not entitled to any kind of refund. Clearly, REI is responsible and should be held accountable for selling a subpar product. We the members deserve better.
I was pretty excited to find out that ON was selling wide sizes, even if the color and style options are very limited. The shoes were just simply ok from a comfort level. They provided enough cushion for me to be happy with comfort walking long distances, but for some reason I found them difficult to get snug around my heel and ankle. The biggest issue is that after less than 15 months of occasional use (defined as wearing maybe on average 10x a month and only for walking), there's a hole in the fabric where my left pinky toe is now peaking out. The fabric should be better reinforced there considering it should be expected that there would be some outward pressure there.
Disappointed with the quality of the upper part of the shoe, with plenty of life left a tear appeared on the side. I used these occasionally for walking and running for less than a year and as a travel shoe before the hole appeared. Looking at reviews online I am not the only one who has experienced this so I cannot recommend these shoes and question similar styles by the same brand.I attempted to bring this to the attention of REI at a store and they considered this normal wear and tear, they were not interested in collecting any information and would not exchange or refund these shoes. Be aware if you experience a similar defect in your shoes from REI there is a chance you might be stuck with them, even as a member. In my opinion it is not normal for the side of ... I bought this shoes about a month ago and have bought other On shoes from REI or On Running’s own web site. I walk outside for exercise and walk indoors for work on average I walk about 12500 steps a day. I try to have couple different pairs so that I don’t wear out one shoes and compress the soles completely if I wear one pair of shoes but On’s are so comfortable that I wear them out. For the money it is expensive I try to buy them on sale. Only model that I punched a hole in it was the cloud monster 1st gen but wear out mark on the bottom of the soles wore pretty much gone at that point. Brooks and On are my go to for now I tried Altra they don’t last that long and Nikes hurt my feet. I would buy On again.
