Previous receiver was also an Onkyo and was very reliable and a great receiver. Newer features on this one. Was a great sale price so I bought it. This one does not disappoint.

Order the only piece BB received in weeks. Was swapping out an tx-rz920 that uses my outboard monoblocks and mult-ch amps in a 7.2.4 setup. Pretty much a pre-pro with inboards used only for heights. Got the speakers, sources, interconnects all working. Set all the inputs and renamed sources. I updated through a wired NET to latest FW and started my uncalibrated room with atmos demos. After about ~ 15 min into 2ch sources, the unit shutdown. Active hybrid light on, but doesn’t stay powered on. It seems a protection circuit was tripping. I tried to soft reset, then hard power cycle for a few minutes. Removed all connections and left off over night. With only power plugged in, tried to turn on with an instant shutdown. All other dealer have shorter return policies or high shipping cost to my geographically isolated State. I hope BB orders and receives new stock before x-mas. Convenient since BB has brick and mortar stores for return.
