I am not a stranger to OOFOS. I have purchased 7 pairs for my family and friends. The ones purchased have usually performed satisfactorily...until now. This may actually be an intentional design "feature", but seems a little illogical at best. If the original "slides" get wet, they behave like you are on a moving "slip and slide". For those of you that are in the dark, the surfaces that contact your feet become slippery and dangerous. With the slides, once wet, I can almost push my foot thru the opening up to my heel. My feet slide left and right, until I'm pretty much walking on the strap...not the orthopedically engineered soles! " I'm thinking, this is a foam sandal, similar to a shower shoe, and you aren't supposed to get it wet? And it isn't a traction issue, it's a surface and safety issue. My overall evaluation on the original slide is, value is good, durability is good, engineering is poor. Why would you wear socks? Recommendation, size very, very carefully (straps definitely stretch, a lot). Don't wear them anywhere you might get them wet...unless you want to take a tumble. Get the shoe and avoid the aggravation.

I have been a passionate, longtime distance walker and yogi. On 8/27/2020 I took a hard hit to my knees, by a wave, that hyperextended my knees and legs. I started have a lot of pain aproximately 5/15/2021. On 1/12/22 I had ankle reconstruction on my right foot, while recovering, I tore meniscus in the left knee, (surgery will be 10/2022) that has now led to issues in my left foot that will be operated on 7/20/22. By the end of 2022 I will have had 5 different surgical procedures as a result of the injury. While my feet and knee are either painful or sensitive all of the time my Oofos are the only shoes I wear. I have 3 pair of flipflops and 3 pair of the shoe style. My feet and legs will be 'recovering' for a long time.

I don’t think it is possible to make a unisex shoe. I have never had trouble buying flip-flops before, but the straps on these are way too loose. Unless you are woman with a fat foot, these will not fit well. I put weatherstripping inside the straps. They are very comfortable, but I am concerned they will not last long. The material does not feel very sturdy for the price. I wish they had a better sole so that I could wear them outside the house. These shoes would probably not hold up well at all walking on pavement.

Ok, won’t lie. I JUST got home from purchasing these sandals, put them on... and after a brief moment of adjusting to the unique feel of them... well, WOWZA. I’ve never had a pair of sandals that are so comfortable as these OOFOS ORIGINALS. When initially buying these I waffled between the slide and the flip-flop, and went with the latter. Absolutely no regrets!I generally wear 5.5-6 (my adult feet began their lives as size 5, but time changes things) and so went with the ladies 6. Yes they look a tad wee “large” around the edges, but it is a good kind of large, like good hiking sandals which give you a bit of room to help prevent you from stubbing your toe. The degree of arch support offered in these came as an absolute surprise; I was afraid that the cushiony foam would indent as some less expensive foamy types do, but nope. These babies hold their shape. I plan on wearing them around the house, and maybe running errands; as I am an avid hiker I honestly don’t think they’d hold up to hard trail-trekking. But afterward? OH yeah! SO - this is my 5-star first impression. I’ll be back in a few months with another review about the sandal’s durability! But so far so good!
I have very wide feet and very high arches -- when I can find side 7-4E or 7-Xwide in hikers, it's great. These are very nice for cushioning after a long day on your feet -- hiking or working. I love the arch support especially. I disagree with the recommendation to 'size down' for women. My usual non-hiking boot size is 6.5 and these *just* fit my feet. If I had sized down from the mens 5/womens 7, then the sandals would have been too short.Oofos makes a version of these thong sandals for women -- and specifically says that it's narrower than the unisex version. So if you are a woman with wide feet, my recommendation is for the original sandals and to order your usual size.
I have plantar fasciitis. Finding the correct shoe can be a long costly process, especially if the shoe continues to cause pain. I saw an advertisement for OOFOS, read the article and decided to get more information from the company's website.I was very impressed with the company, the video and the various styles of OOFOS and of course, the reviews. Never read so many 5 star reviews. I decided to give the OOriginal sandals a try. The sandal is comfortable and no pain throughout the day's wear. I now have happy feet wearing my OOFOS sandal. I will be ordering again.
I have a fixation device in my left ankle and I can’t wear just any type of shoes. On a trip to Hawaii, my feet and legs became swollen so badly on the long flight that I could barely walk when we landed. At the hotel I stayed at, a shop had these funny looking sandals. I asked the sales lady about them and she said they were called Oofos. I tried them on and she explained they were great for people who were athletes, or had foot or leg problems, or for anyone who just wanted comfortable shoes that were good for your feet and legs. I bought 2 pair of them and never looked back! I’ve got clogs, sandals, etc. Thanks to my Oofos, I had a wonderful time in Hawaii and now can go shopping in comfort and be pain free!! I was skeptical about whether or not these would look anywhere close to fashionable… I was pleasantly surprised! Yes they are expensive, but I wear flip-flops year-round and these are super comfortable, supportive, and most important! I manage swimming pools for a living and they Have excellent traction on a wet pool deck. For reference: I am 511, 195 pounds and 51 years old. Others were never as good, and the material, quality, and craftsmanship has deteriorated since. Esp.this last pair, feet stuck to them, never experienced that before, getting a little better with wear, poor workmanship, smaller than 4 other pairs in same size. You can tell they are outsourced and the manufacturer has decreased standards or it's a different manufacturer. Even the 2 thongs had slightly different navy color. Look at the cut out triangle on sides, jagged edges in the newer pairs. Older pairs smooth. Not important but it tells me the quality is not as important as in the past and that things have changed. I tried the all enclosed shoe but they were terrible in cushioning and I felt like I would fall over due to them pushing me over like rocking or something. They went back.
