I do not normally write reviews ... but as this is an expensive product which along with the marketing spiel, produced high expectations, I feel compelled to review as the results left me completely disappointed.Firstly the cap was impossible to open, the instructions are simply to "Twist". After 5 mins of struggling, my husband suggested we cut the corner of the packet - which is what we did. We are then given the problem of how to store the remainder.2ndly, neither my cat or my dog would touch it. So this was a complete waste of money. The only positive was that I no longer had to worry about how to store left overs as it was tipped down the sink.

We add a little splash of broth to the Open Farm Rustic Herring & Mackerel blend for our kitten's morning and evening feedings. He knows when it's time to eat and lets us know. He licks his bowl clean so I assume he approves. When we tried to give him his old food we still had he left it in the bowl. I guess the shelter will benefit as we'll donate his old leftover cans of food to them. We also give our senior lady a splash of broth. She'll have some but being as old and inactive as she is she doesn't have a big appetite.

Great Product

Great product..HORRIBLE PACKAGING
23 April 2024

The bone broth from OF is a fantastic source of everything it should be. Problem is every order I place is a large order of 4 or more 33.8 oz of broth and 22 lbs food. Open Farms does not seal the smaller box of broth they combine all that weight into one large box and ship. Every order has 1 or more cartons of broth broke open and it’s a mess. Don’t think I can continue to place $250 orders and not have usable products.

I love the bone broth
8 December 2023

I love the bone broth from open farm! The price point is great and my dogs go crazy over this. I use the broth to hydrate my dogs kibble because when I use water they don’t love the soupy taste. The bone broth has my 3 dogs drooling. When the weather is yucky I will add some bone from to a west paw and freeze for enrichment.

Love, love, love!
20 December 2023

My dog absolutely loves all of the Open Farm products, but I especially love adding the bone broth to all of her meals. I like to hydrate her kibble, and it's a good source of nutrients which also contributes to joint health, digestive health, and a shiny coat! I especially love the variety of bone broth flavours offered as a complete solution to enhance her overall well-being.

My cat loves it!
5 April 2024

Adding these broths to my 15 year old cat's pate has really improved her eating. There's no way she could finish an entire packet within the alloted freshness time, so I pour out enough for the first week and keep it in the fridge, pouring the remainder in an ice cube tray for the freezer. Then we defrost another portion as needed. Works well in this house. We're fans!

My dogs like the turkey
7 March 2023

My dogs like the turkey bone broth. However, the design of the larger containers is questionable. I am not comfortable with it. I changed companies before for the same reason the containers were leaking. Please see the picture. I twisted the cap off and did not realize it twisted it loose I began to poor and a good bit poured on my hand and the floor. The design is not good. Sorry to tell you that. I have two containers left and I hope it doesn’t happen again. I worry about the freshness of the product with a faulty container design. You will see in the picture how the cap lifted up from the body of the container. I pulled it up more to take another picture.Dee Siat

No More HGE Flare-ups
26 June 2024

Our sweet senior pittie mix is on palliative care for her cancer. Over the past 2 years, she had suffered from HGE flare-ups that would land us at the vet every couple of months, scared that this was it for her. She has many food allergies and sensitivities. She is horribly allergic to chicken so it took us 13 years to finally try giving her turkey, but in a moment of desperation last year, we gave it a shot. We've had her on Open Farm Turkey Bone Broth with whitefish based kibble for the past 6 months and she's been steady going, no digestional distress or flares. I swear this bone broth has healed her guts and given her the extra bit of umph she needed. She loves her new kibble too, we switched her from Acana to Open Farm two months ago and it was the easiest food ... MoreOur sweet senior pittie mix is on palliative care for her cancer. WOW!! Food you can trust!
30 October 2022

Our Yorkie loves it! We heat 30 ml in microwave for 9 seconds then dump it on 30-45 ml of freeze dried chicken topping. Let it soak for a few seconds then dump on a small amount of dry kibbles. She thinks she is a queen! Well, I guess she is and she loves the food. And her seizures have so far completely ceased since switching to open farm and she has gained a little weight which she needed. Best food we have ever fed our Yorkies. Do you research, Open Farm is just one of a few that you can actually trust the ingredients listed on bag! We highly recommend them.
