At first I was surprised at the consistency, for my pallet I needed to add a touch more water. I found it very sweet to begin with, but the taste has grown on me and I love it. It will taste delicious with raspberries blitzed in with it.

Love the shakes but i wasn't that impressed with the extra protein optifast.. don't take my word for it.. it could just be me!!
OK. First day was super sweet bit got much better after a few days. I also blended with a bullet and with ice cubes added. Much better. High protein is very good for your diet however I'm not sure it was worth it. Didn't taste as good as the plain Choc.

I was given a sachet of the new Protein Plus Chocolate shake and tried it today. I am having extra protein as part of my Optifast intensive program, so being able to have some extra protein through a shake helps in preserving lean muscle mass which is important when on a VLCD diet. I made it up using 200mls of cold water, plus 9 ice cubes and then blitzing in a blender. For extra oomph I added a teaspoon of coffee granules.The taste was pleasant and I enjoyed the creamy consistency. Yes it does have slightly more calories compared to the regular Optifast shakes which have 201 calories. The Protein Plus has 250 calories. Protein is 28g compared to 20 grams, sugar is less in the protein plus at 1.9g per serve compared to 9.5g in the regular shakes.
