Best vanilla protein I've had, vanilla is a hard one to get right. I use this to make Konjac Rice Pudding, just mix like 8 packets of Konjac rice (with almost no calories) plus some water and heaps of this vanilla protein. You'll know when it's ready when it gets really thick and goopy and almost impossible to stir, and all of the lumps have gone. BTW it doesn't form lumps in a shaker, just when I mix it this way by hand. This "rice" pudding is delicious and has helped me a lot in my weight loss goals. It's got a very nice vanilla and sweet flavour, the thick consistency is very good, and if you add lots of orange blossom water, lots of extra vanilla extract, and some rose water, as well as cinnamon, it's almost as good as real rice pudding. For too long I had relied solely on whey protein to help build muscle, especially after intense work outs. It definitely helped, but often times I would wake up the morning after not feeling that much better. In other words, I wasn't really recovering that well. I mix mine with soy milk (yeah, I drink soy, get over it) and shot of light cream, after reading that a modest amount of fats help the body absorb large amounts of protein. Anyways, the vanilla is a very deep and satisfying flavor. To change it up I sometimes add some cinnamon powder, or some nutmeg and ground clove. On top of that, I eat it just before bed, and I am never super hungry in the morning, and I have eliminated my midnight snack routine.I use a hand crank egg beater to mix this stuff up, because even a little bit quickly turns into a thick mixture, sort of like wet concrete. It needs way more liquid to dissolve into than whey protein powder. Sometimes I also throw in some Greek style yogurt, but this stuff is thick enough already. The labeling says something about how Casein behaves differently when it hits the acid in the stomach, and that it expands, and you see this when you mix it up.If you have been missing something in the protein department, I would absolutely try this Casein.

Best quality casein!

Such a great supplement for bodybuilding. Really pleased with the quality, having tried other brands like myprotein which are cheaper but very poor in quality compared to Optimum Nutrition. Blends well with no mess or froth. Great to have before bed for best use. Would recommend again! Strawberry flavour is amazing!

Delicious chocolatey taste

Optimum's chocolate casein has a delicious taste, take it from a chocoholic. Something special about the casein is it gives your shake or pudding a very thick texture. Much more than any other protein powder I've used. Best to use casein as a meal replacement or before bedtime snack.

Great taste

I'm relatively new to the protein powder game, but this stuff is great. Even with just water it has a nice creamy texture and great flavor. I usually mix it with coffee and oat milk though, and it's terrific. My girlfriend also made a protein dessert bar with them and it tasted really good. I don't know how to quantify the effects in all honesty. But for me this works and tastes great. Oh and I got the chocolate flavor just for reference

I've been using this product

I've been using this product for almost 5 years and it was the best casein I've ever tasted. Up untill the latest redesign of the product. The label is just a bit different so it's not that obvious, but as soon as you open the box you can notice a completely different product inside. _x000d__x000d_The powder is no longer a bit 'grainy', but smooth like wheat powder. The smell is almost the same. The old product you could mix it just with a spoon easily. In milk or water. Now with the new product it's almost impossible. Powder sticks to everything._x000d__x000d_I'll never buy this product again._x000d__x000d_Note: I'm from Europe and I know it's produced in the UK or Ireland for our market, so maybe in the US you're lucky and they didn't ruin the product

Loved it till they raised the price massivly

My son uses this to cook so many of his healthy foods with. He loves it only the last 8 purchases we wondered why it went from $39 to over $55 bucks plus or including tax. We are now going to stop buying from here due to the inflation and go with another product. Sad because we were an every 2 day buyer of this product.Like I said my son loves to be healthy and make healthy yet bad for you looking treats so we stick to healthy over junk. He is 17 and so into this product abd whey protien that he has taught himself so many cool ways to cook. Bake, and use this. Sad to have to go somewhere else for it.

Smells like SunBum spray sunblock

This smells like SunBum spray sunblock -- tropical, coconut-ish. It's not a bad smell (especially for sun block). But it's off-putting for a food item. It is easy to mix (much easier than the out-of-stock-for-months Beyond Raw ISO Casein PM). Flavor is okay, not terrible. And I could get used to it if I had to. The picture of the ingredients label still shows Yellow #5 but I don't see it on there now, so that's good. Am going to try something else (and since everything at GNC is out of stock re: casein that means a completely different brand). If I had to come back to using this I would.

IDK how this casein keeps getting such high reviews. Compared to Kaged Muscle (Vanilla) this is garbage. The flavor is just awful. It’s like an artificial vanilla almond? Also, the consistency in the of it (before mixing) is very fine; to ONs whey & and hydro-whey (which I use and enjoy). I’ve not had a problem getting it to mix. Either shake more or don’t use ice cold water! Add ice after it’s mixed....Bing search “consistency for casein powder:Casein protein powder’s ability to clump up is useful for more than just slow digestion. When the proteins in casein form a clump in the stomach, they keep you feeling full for a longer time. Works Great for Protein Ice Cream!

I’m getting into making my own ice cream and tried with their whey protein powder with almond milk. Something just always seemed off. I decided to try it using casein because I heard casein has a thicker consistency and omg! Game changer! The mix was nice, creamy and thick! With the whey, it seemed watery and the taste was a little off. With this, I honestly could not tell that it was protein powder. I let my husband taste the ice cream and he thought I bought it! Absolutely delicious. Who knew ice cream good be so healthy and taste so good!
