Peach lemonade is slightly sour/tart/bitter in a very good way - almost too easy to drink! The green apple was a bit sweet and almost too much like green apple candy which might be nice for some people. We've also tried gfuel and I feel like this isn't as powdery, doesn't settle as quickly and is easier to drink. The caffeine hit isn't as pronounced as a coffee but I've definitely had days where I've only had this with no coffee and it's been fine (not jittery or anything). Highly recommend!

For those who think these products sold on iHerb are fake, you are completely WRONG. I have been buying Optimum Nutrition for years and iHerb carries and sells products by the manufacturer. Now for the product - I mix this product with the Optimum Nutrition Collagen + Hyaluronic Acid in the Watermelon Citrus flavor and it taste amazing. I use the combination of this product every day - even on days I do not workout. I highly recommend all of these products and have seen and felt the difference these products have made on my daily fitness life style. If I really like something - I will buy it anyway after trying it first, so will most of your target audience…. It just makes no sense to open the container and see it half empty….. It has nothing to do with the product itself, however… just seems odd….

This is a pre-workout. First, I love pre-workout, and anything with Beta-alanine in it. And often I need something to give me an afternoon boost when I'm working (and I don't drink coffee). Optimum Nutrition's AMINO Energy I often choose because it does not contain creatine. I'm not actively training anymore and I want the energy without the water retention creatine gives. The instructions on the pack guide you from mild to intense effects (2-6 scoops). The grape flavor is also my favorite, but others are also available. Good price point as well compared to some others.

I have been purchasing the optimum 100 whey goldstandard protein from Sportsfuel when a deal popped up that included the optimum amino energy sampler. I needed to get some more whey any way, so never one to turn down a good dea!? I got the sampler and trialled when best to take it; before workout, after workout; with mixed results, however with only a few servings left I tried it during my workouts, as part of my hydration. The difference for me was startling, it improved my energy levels and focus during my workouts something chronic. For me, I sometimes struggle at the start of a workout to get "into it", with this stuff, that problem no longer exists. Everyone will have different results and like me I would trial what and when's the best time to take it, but for me this will become a permanent addition to my supplement regime, thanks Sportsfuel.

This product works great for someone who wants an energy boosts before workouts but doesn’t enjoy the traditional side effects associated with pre-workouts. I have tried a variety of brands and pre-workouts over the years but had trouble becoming loyal to one product. I’ve now been consistently using Essential Amino Energy for about half a year and never felt the need to stray. By evaluating it on its: effectiveness, taste, and price, I regard it as the best value pre-workouts I’ve encountered. Effectiveness As a pre-workout, this provides consistent energy without bringing on the twitching sensation that many other pre-workouts are known to. It tends to be most effective when drank about 30 minutes before starting a workout. The caffeine kicks in subtly, giving you gradual sensation of focus and heightened awareness. So by the time you’re starting to workout, you get that ā€œin the zoneā€ mentality a lot of people look for in a pre-workout. The effects of a regular serving tend to wear off within 1-2 hours. The lower dosage of caffeine makes it easier to come down from if you’re someone who works out at night and doesn’t want to have trouble falling asleep. Taste While the energy and amino acids provided is effective, it’s the taste of this product that impressed me the most. Other pre-workouts can have a very artificially sweet taste that is hard to enjoy. Someone with a sensitive stomach like myself may also find that this doesn’t give them a stomach ache like other pre-workouts might. While I’ve only tried three flavors, I’ve enjoyed all of them. Peach Tea: Someone who has a sweet tooth would likely enjoy this one as it tastes exactly like a gummy peach candy. Blueberry Mojito: This is also very candy-like, with a similar taste to a cotton candy sucker. Pineapple: This flavor is not as strong as the other two, as it provides a more subtle tangy taste. It’d be a good option for someone who doesn’t prefer things too sweet. Price Compared to other pre-workouts, this is likely one of the least expensive you’ll find. Other pre-workouts tend to cost around 30 to 40 dollars compared to 19 dollars for this. The fact that it also doubles as a dosage of amino acids only adds to its value. Overall, this would be a good option for someone new to taking energy supplements for working out, or just someone who doesn’t enjoy the effects of traditional, highly-caffeinated pre-workouts.

I'm giving this 3 stars because while it tastes great and is easy to use I didn't notice enough of an increase in energy for my workouts as I would have liked. Pros: It tastes great. I personally love fruity flavors and blue raspberry is a favorite of mine. It mixes very easily. I used 3 scoops and then put in 3-4oz of very warm water, swish it around for a couple seconds, and then add ice cubes and 8oz cold water. No grit and no clumps. Again, I really enjoyed the taste - it was like drinking a treat, almost felt like an indulgence for me. Cons: Overall, I just wasn't impressed with the level of energy I got from it. I followed the instructions and drank it 20-30 minutes before a work out. I do a rotation of HIIT workouts one day and then strength training the next. It suggested starting out with 2 scoops and adjusting from there. I noticed nothing with 2, went to 3 and felt slightly more energy than I had with 2. Perhaps if I experimented with 4 or more scoops I would notice a more significant increase but I'm hesitant to have that much caffeine in a day since I am a religious 3 cups a day coffee drinker. Bottom line is I wouldn't purchase this or recommend to a friend. It may be I'm just not the best fit for a product like this but it didn't give me enough of a performance improvement to warrant a purchase of this product.

I usually drink the amino energy carbonated cans and love them. So I thought I’d give the powder a try and was extremely disappointed. I purchased the peach lemonade flavour and it tasted so terrible I only had half a serving and have not touched it since. Therefore I unfortunately have no idea wether it has a stimulating effect or not. However it mixes well and has natural ingredients which is always a plus for those that do decide to consume it.

User Audience For this product, I tried the flavor of Concord Grape and it was phenomenal. It was my first flavor that I purchased for Optimum Nutrition Essential AmiN.O. Energy. Since using this product I have found that the ideal user can be anyone wanting a morning booster, a pre workout or an afternoon pick me up. This provides a great alternative to coffee as it keeps me alert throughout the day while not having any tingling sensation or jitters that coffee causes. It can be used by audiences of all kinds, including the average person or an athlete who would get its nutritional benefits of having amino acids in the drink. Since this product is a supplemental drink with caffeine, I would not recommend that children should be users of this product. Rating Criteria The criteria that I used to evaluate this product are the following three things: taste, endurance, and focus. The reason that I chose these three evaluation criteria’s is because they serve as the essential use for the product. First, a good tasting product will allow the user to enjoy drinking this over the standard coffee flavor or pre-workout drink that sometimes tastes like cough syrup. Endurance is another valuable feature that this product must possess because this type of drink promotes ā€œIncreased Energy.ā€ Also, focus is another thing that I decided to use as a rating criteria because I believe it’s what sets a drink apart from others. Focus can be misleading from people that drink coffee and think that the caffeine will help them focus more, but end up just feeling jittery and cause uncomfortable lapses of time after drinking it. Characteristics I have tried two different types of this product, Concord Grape and Orange Cooler. I would rate the grape flavor at a 6/10 and the orange flavor at an 8/10 with 10 being the best flavor possible for this product. For endurance I would rate this product a 9/10. The focus that this product allows me to have would be a 7.5/10. In my opinion, the best characteristics of this product is the endurance that this product has given me throughout the day. I can take a serving early in the morning before my workout and it will last me all through the day without any lapse in energy, no matter how hard the workout was. Some days where I get lack of sleep the night before I will take an extra half serving, but this product’s endurance is the most positive aspect I’ve experienced. Since using this product about a month ago, I have not experienced any negative characteristics for this product. I will continue to be a customer of this product because I am so satisfied with the results that it has given me.

Wonderfully tasting pre-workout!!!!

Absolutely LOVE the grape optimum nutrition amino pre-workout. If it didn't have the caffeine, I would drink it as water! It gives me the boost I need to either work out harder (heavier or longer) or stay up and do chores. And the amino make it even healthier in my opinion. I used to buy the same product in cans, but I prefer the powder more. If you are on the fence of trying it, don't hesitate and BUY IT! You will not regret it.
