This is the only protein powder I've tried, as Optimum Nutrition was highly recommended to me as the "gold standard in protein powders" by several weightlifting enthusiast friends of mine. Luckily, the first flavor I tried, Chocolate Malt, ended up being amazingly delicious to me, so I never had to buy and try any others -- though they have so many different flavors, I'd like to try some of the ones that sound good, such as the coffee, the vanilla, or the mint chocolate flavors. Anyway, I use whole milk and drop a spoonful of this whey powder in a Blender Bottle, shake the crap out of it, and enjoy it after lifting. This powder blends REALLY well *with a Blender Bottle*, and I rarely get clumps/bubbles of dry powder. This powder blends REALLY well *with a Blender Bottle*, and I rarely get clumps/bubbles of dry powder. I tried using a spoon and stirring once, and got tons of clumps. This powder is packed full of protein, as it contains a form of whey that packs more protein per volume when compared to regular whey which some protein powders use, which means you have to use more of those powders to get the same amount of protein as you would with Optimum Nutrition's. This product also contains a bunch of the BCAA (branched chain amino acids) that the human body requires after exercise in order to repair/build muscle. The only thing this powder lacks is ingredients for muscle recovery (chiefly, my favorite, L-Glutamine), things regularly found in nighttime/overnight muscle recovery/repair formulas. This product doesn't need it, but it would round it out as the perfect after-workout protein powder if it had L-Glutamine in it (but that would be unnecessary if you lift/drink these in the mornings). Instead, I just add a spoon of pure L-Glutamine powder to my Optimum Nutrition shakes and I'm good to go! Anyway, obviously, I really, really highly recommend this brand, this product by them, and this flavor of whey protein powder for all your "gain" needs -- Get those gains!!! đđťââď¸

Best protein on the market. For everyone saying the formula has changed... as far as the Double Rich Chocolate I've been getting for YEARS, there is no change as of a week ago (Jan-2018). No Sucralose. Just avoid flavors like Cake Batter, Ice Cream and BananaI ordered the double rich chocolate (DBC), thanks to reviews indicating it did not use sucralose (and it does not as of 06/12/18).I've never used ON before, I do not know if it "used to" taste better. As of 06/12/18 the DBC flavor tastes roughly like burnt brownie flavored cardboard. Thing is, I understand without a SUPER sweetener, it can be difficult to achieve flavor, but be forewarned, it is AWFUL tasting. Consistency remains almost the same as whatever liquid you have mixed it into (adds no extra thickness). I tried both water and milk.On the positive front, it is jam packed with goodies with every scoop. It mixes extremely well (I use milk mainly) and when mixed with other powders, it continued to mix well (I add extra probiotics and stuff for my joints).I let it sit for a few hours on the counter, everything settled and needed a slight jostle, but (aside from being warm) mixed right back up and tasted exactly the same with the same consistency, which is great as I have had powders that turn to sludge if you let it sit for too long. For the price @5lbs and 30g scoops, you can't beat it. There are better tasting powders and better powders overall, but you can expect to pay $50-$60 for 2lb for those, I find this powder to be an excellent middle ground if you can stomach it, especially with the prevalence of sucralose finding its way everywhere. For those not in the know, please Google sucralose, it won't bother everyone, but if you're like me, it did affect my digestive system negatively and since removing it from my diet I have been doing much better.

This protein powder is really worth it because of its price and amount of servings also not to mention all of the ingredients. The flavor is a good 10/10 and it blends really well in the shaker bottle I have. So I really recommend you get this protein powder.Since I started using Whey Protein, I felt in love with it. I've been using it for almost two years now, and I don't see me stopping soon. Really good flavour, you can taste and see the effects of the product. Give yourself time to read the labels of the package. There's a lot of very valuable information there. I say this because I personally know a ton of people who do not read labels of products, and end up misusing them. Totally recommend the product.Honestly this is one of the few Whey proteins powders ... MoreThis protein powder is really worth it because of its price and amount of servings also not to mention all of the ingredients. The packaging could use some improvement. That said I didn't take any stars off, but I love the strawberry flavor, and it mixes not too bad. Overall this is perfect for me. Inexpensive compared to other brands and doesn't cause any unnecessary ache.

I'm not an athlete. Iâm exercising more and plagued with bad muscle aches and cramps that didnât ever seem to get better. Iâve been like this my entire life, including my athletic teen years. I was always extremely sore after any workout. Anyway, after logging my food for awhile I realized I have low daily protein intake, around 20-35g/day, and that apparently can cause the soreness and cramps I described. So I gave this a shot after exercising and noticed that I donât feel the same amount of soreness. My muscles still feel tired but not nearly the same. Could be a coincidence, but Iâm sold. The mix tastes good. I got the chocolate malt flavor. I had it with milk the first couple of times (no cold drinking water), and could barely tolerate it. I got the Gold Standard Whey Protein for my teenage son and he is loving it. It was very easy to mix in and the powder dissolves completely so there was no gritty taste. He really liked the strawberry and cream flavor! He has used it with milk and water and liked both but preferred it more in the milk.I love that this protein powder is giving him the proper nutrients that his body needs! He plays football and soccer in school plus works out daily so his body needs the best nutrients that he can get, and I feel like this is perfect for that!I also tried this and found it to taste great. It was not too sweet tasting which I like since I normally just drink water.I would definitely recommend this to family and friends!
This whey product is a top pick by Consumer Labs, an organization that tests products for content and purity. My husband and I are in our 70s and need to add more protein to our lives as we are losing muscle faster than we can build it at our age. This whey product not only mixes excellentlyâŚbefore we bought a shaker, we just used ann old water container, nothing special, and no lumps or clumps. We chose the vanilla ice cream for the flexibility that it gives us to add it to oatmeal in the winter, or add to a fruit smoothie (although itâs better to eat your fruit that put it in a smoothie). We tend to add crushed ice to it. I have mine after Iâve walked our dog in the AM; my husband after hiking or playing tennis since downing protein after exercise is the best time ... MoreThis whey product is a top pick by Consumer Labs, an organization that tests products for content and purity. Iâm not into body building. Iâm a 58 yr old guy who lost a lot of strength and weight during a period of ill health and Iâm striving to regain my previous âbuffâ physique. My supplement of choice that worked well in the past is no longer sold in the UK. So after a lot of reading, I opted for ON Gold Standard due to the positive feedback and high protein content. I am simply going to report as I find:1. If you want a thick âMcDonaldsâ style shake â this is not for you. If you follow the ON instructions and mix one heaped 30g scoop with 180-240ml of water, you get a drink that ranges from the same consistency as tinned condensed milk at 180Ml to the consistency of normal milk at 240Ml. However, on the plus side, it means it doesnât sit heavy in your stomach if you take it before a gym session.2. If you like your drinks sweet â you will be disappointed. The Banana Cream I bought has very low sugar content and lacks any sweetness at all. However, I find it a re-assuring sign that ON are selling a clean protein supplement with each 30g serving containing a huge 24g of protein - thats 80%.3. It mixes easily with cold water and if you give it the full recommended 30 second shake-up, there is no residual grittiness. No complaints.4. Flavour â disappointing. I bought Banana Cream and couldnât really smell anything when I opened the tub and found the flavour almost non-existent to the point it tastes like semi-skimmed milk with only the slightest hint of banana. Maybe I just got a poor batch but I donât find it flavoursome and tend to down it in oner to get it over with.5. Results â this stuff works. I started to see results after just 4 weeks back in the gym and Iâm seeing gains in my arms, chest and shoulders faster than I expected. So despite the flavour issue, this product delivers where it counts and I am satisfied so far.

Bought this online from Superdrug. Came in super quick time and service was excellent but the seal on the product was broken. 75% of the seal had come away. I looked at the powder and thought I'd take my chances consuming the product. The sheer hassle of getting on touch and dealing with the return and ordering another one led me to do this. However, I just can't be confident that it is genuine. Everytime I take it I'm consumed by the question of weather it is genuine or not and it has made the expirience of consuming it unpleasant. Someone could have easily filled it with cheap chocolate powder and I would be hard pressed to tell. Not saying that that is definitely the case but a broken seal can make a man's (or woman's) mind run wild. It's a shame because I would ... MoreBought this online from Superdrug. Blended one scoop with two handfuls of baby spinach, some frozen pineapple, filtered water, a little capful of vanilla extract, a tablespoon of ground flaxseed, and a few teaspoons of stevia. The taste was fantastic. This doesn't taste like fake strawberries but like real strawberries, and the smoothie felt creamy as though it had been made with milk. I've tried whey protein powder before that left a gross aftertaste or felt gritty and didn't blend well, but this Optimum Nutrition powder performed well. I like that it has a reasonable amount of protein per serving. Just enough to serve as a meal replacement. Not too much protein which wouldn't be absorbed anyway, but just enough. I liked only having to use one scoop because that makes this economical too.
