This has been a complete disaster for me. For a start they don’t tell you that texts to abroad from Australia are not included - so when you go to send a text you have to buy more credit- but the system sends you back to the deal you bought in the first place which does not include the texts!! So you keep paying for something you don’t want! Rubbish & it’s not clear at all what credit you’re supposed to buy- never again -

The most frustrating was activating the SIM card I did it on the phone and they said it was not authentic. Then I called the number you have on the card and I could not speak to a real person. So finally I had to go to Optus store to get it activated. LOTS OF FUSTRATION to activate. After that is was great! You need to have a number on the card that connects customers with a REAL PERSON.

The conditions of this SIM card are great. The problem is the activation. It’s not really a travel SIM card because you need a local address to register. In my case I had to youse a Airbnb or a fake one to register for my 24days trip. All in All I like the offer

Technically, there is really nothing to complain about for an expat living in Australia for 2 months having 35 Gigs in the best available mobile network available for any kinds of internet needs - more than enough! Also the 0.1 AUS-$ per Minute for an international call is a fair offer. But the really outstanding customer support (Thank you so much, Sandra!) made it happen that the SIM-Card finally was delivered to a 2nd adress since Australia post failed to deliver it to the 1st given adress. By express delivery without any on cost. Answering even im Sunday’s - this is an really amazing attitude towards us, the customers. Very well done, SIMCorner - thank You!
I purchased 2 SIM cards, 1 for New Zealand, 1 for Australia. Both SIM cards were not activated, luckily in NZ there was a Vodaphone booth in airport next to where we got coffee and they activated it for me. In Aus I had to go online and fumble through activation, luckily I had internet access via family. Please let people know of activation required prior to travel. Otherwise it worked well for us with travel SIM's so we were connected.
Thanks so much. My sim cad arrive on time. There was no issue with activation. I get so much data 20 gb my phone was working perfectly. I wish to have exactly same service and price what I have in AustraliaThank You again
SimCorner was great for my recent trip to Australia. For around $30 I got one month of cell service with 6GB of data and unlimited talk and text. Way better than the $120 Verizon wanted to charge me. Once I got the sim card activated, everything was great. There were a few places out in the whoop where service wasn’t great, but that was expected. I am very happy with my choice.
Super nice experience, especially when i was travelling to Australia for the first time. So happy to know that the sim card reaches my hotel even before my arrival. Activation of sim card is easy and it takes just minutes. It is also easy to track the data usage and call usage using the Optus app. Overall, it's a great experience for travellers like me. Thanks Simcorner!
The servicing of Optus requires improvement. I could not use the Optus prepaid card at all, because the shop agents were (in CBD, Elizabeth Street) inept, hostile and useless. On requesting them to put the prepaid card in my dual sim phone, they first mangled my phone (so that the tray could not be put in to begin with) and then insisted that Optus cards do not work with dual sims unless they were the primary sim card. In the end they did put it in tthe second sim slot but during activation of the sim they messed up to such an extent that I could not use the 5$ extra which was to be my passport to international calls. A horrible experience.
Tried to activate the sim card while still in the UK could not do it. spent a over an hour trying to activate it in the phone when arrived in OZ still would not activate. went into Vodafone store they said the sim card had not been scanned to prove its location of purchase. they said it was counterfeit and made the card none and void. to say i'm disappointed is an understatement as this is for a 81 year old on his first trip to oz if i wasn't with him god knows what he would have done. he had to buy a new sim card
