I have this amp in my podcast studio, next to my Ampeg bass amp. You can get great clean tones and you can dirty it up without using effects. I have a strat hss and Washburn JB-35 and have found a place for both with this amp. I can use it Mic'd or run it through my MacBook m1. It's got a loop, the tuner is handy if you're changing tunings frequently. I only have the two electrics so if I'm going from drop D to open to standard, it makes it really simple to quickly get the tuning right. The tone is t perfect it is a little fizzy and fuzzy but it can be dialed in and it is a blast to play! I can get great tone easily at room volume and it is built like a tank. For the price and build quality you owe it to yourself to grab one before they stop making this model. The reverb sounds great and the clean is very cool and responsive. I think being a solid state is the difference vs an all digital modeling amp.I'm very happy and finally found a keeper!

What a great choice this was. The amp is stellar with a beautiful clean channel and really nice Classic Rock style dirty channel. The effects loop works fine and the ME-80 produces incredible tone signals which the 35RT wonderfully converts to awesome sounds. And at the price point, I got the ME-80 basically for free with enough cash to get myself an Epi LP Modern to boot. Heck an Orange TH30H tube head with no speakers is $... Add another $ if you need the EZ34 rectifier tube instead of the effects tube. I don't think any of these tubes are really necessary. I am not a guitar God or electronic engineer. Most of the time I can't even hear the differences on comparison videos. So I am thrilled with the savings and quality of the 35RT.BTW, The Epi LP Modern with its coil splits and phase control sounds wonderful with the 35RT. Flawless. These are my opinions and I stand by them.

I've always heard good things about Orange quality and longevity. I like the Orange clean sound but I admit it's not for everyone. I play ambient guitar, mostly clean, with some overdrive from pedals. You'd think Fender would be my thing, right? Nope, the Champions just don't sound good compared to the Orange Crush amps. Plus, this combo amp is built like a tank. At the moment I'm running a stereo rig with the Orange Crush 35 and a Marshall MG15 (modded with speaker out pushing a Marshall 1x12), both on clean channels only, and it sounds really good. I have a Super Crush 100 head on ... Overall:Just got one in black a few days ago. Beautifully made little amp. I bought it to pair w a Roland Cube 40gx for a small stereo rig for small to medium size gigs. Size wise they are very close in stature. Both have single 10” speakers. The Orange weighs a few pounds more than the Roland. The Crush is a simple 2 channel amp. The drive channel is very loud and very flexible. It’s also a little hissy but not intolerably so. The build in reverb is in a word excellent. I really bought it for the clean channel and I’m a tiny bit disappointed. They should have also included a master volume for the clean channel as opposed to the single volume. The Roland is capable of a lot more clean headroom volume especially using the blackface setting. The Crush clean is extremely mid and bass forward. Beyond some warm neck pickup jazzy tones I’m not sure where all the video demos I watched got these funky quacky strat tones from. They really don’t exist in this amp. I emailed Orange and they told me that a heavy mids forward sound is the Orange clean tone and was what they intended this amp to do. Another word I hear people use to describe this amp is tubey but I don’t find that to be true at all. I have both ss and tube amps and this is clearly a ss amp. I have to admit that used in stereo with the bright mid scooped Roland the low end tubbiness actually works and the stereo wash is quite nice. I’ll use into a few gigs to see how it performs but at least one if not both of the amps will be mic’ed up. It’s frankly a little priced for what it is especially compared to a Boss Katana 50 and some other amps but if nothing else it’s a hell of a lot cooler looking. Lol.
I originally purchased the Katana but returned it for this. This is in another league than the Katana. While the Katana tries to model many other amps, the Orange IS its own amp and has its own sound and character. The clean channel is clean and warm which is great for jazz tones. The dirty channel is very flexible and sensitive as is the EQ. You can really hear subtle changes you make. I mainly like the simplicity and tone of this amp. What you see is what you get, and you do get a lot of great tone. No regrets here. The orange color grew on me. Now I'm a fan.

However, the send and return used with a pedal board loaded w/o overdrive properly transports this amp on the Clean channel to an extreme I've experienced on a tube amp level. I used a Walrus EB 10 parametric pedal then a reverb, delay and slight echo at the end of the chain. The amp incredibly warmed, thickened and boosted the tone to one that competes with any of the high end tube amps I have ever used. Totally shocked! I will experiment with the overdrive on the dirty channel and an OD on the front end very soon. I expect good results. Tasty crunch. Reverb is sweet. Very dynamic amp for the price and size. The output is seriously punching above the stats and the build quality is so far faultless. The range of tones you can achieve is good: I’ve got scooped metal and mellow jazz tones out of it no bother. Built in tuner is helpful if you don’t already have one. I would prefer the power switch on the top rather than the back, but there you go, it’s hardly a deal breaker. I will have to experiment with pedals before I can comment on the separate fx channel. The clean tones are beautiful, the added touch of the built in reverb is fantastic. The power behind this little unit can not be overstated, for a smaller “practice amp” it certainly packs a punch. I moved from a half stack to this and I couldn’t recommend it more, the versatility between the 2 channels when connected to an fx loop and pre line fx pedals is perfect . Sound quality and volume are ideal for home recording and for small gigs. The Orange build quality and warmth is not lost on this little unit, for the price range, I dare to say you’ll be lucky to find a better Amp.
I'm about a year into playing electric and have made the rounds of solid state amps. This certainly holds up to the rest for at-home playing, and beats most for simple versatility with good sound. Fast forwarding through several other amps, I've been mostly playing a Katana 100 (MUCH better sound quality than the 50 btw). If you connect the PC and use the app and spend some time at it, you can certainly make the Katana produce the same tones as the Orange, but I really appreciate what can be accomplished just with knobs on the Orange. Different amps, different goals, different results, both good. My first amp was an Orange 12 which I ultimately sold because the sound was too muffled, though great tones could be achieved. The bass I'd say is exactly what you would expect from a 10" closed back amp. It isn't thunderous or broad but it is effective and plentiful. In the short time I've had it I've been playing clean with a fender player strat and dirty with a epiphone les paul standard and enjoying both. This amp has one of the most effective gain knobs I've experienced. It is graded very well and will actually produce discernably different levels of grit, not just the sort of light fuzz or hair that most entry to mid tier amps do. I wouldn't have thought of the tuner as an enticing feature but I use it every time now rather than reaching for the clip on - works well and simply. Compact, light weight, looks at home in the living room and easy to move for cleaning and such.
