The best conversations I have had with my 100 yr old, very deaf mother! This phone is quite remarkable, after many frustrating conversations with my profoundly deaf mother, I purchased this phone with some trepidation....but am happy to state it was the best money spent. My mother is able to have a decent conversation with our families, without too many misunderstanding and repeats of conversation. My children can actually have a chat on the phone with their Grandmother now....something that was exceptionally difficult before. This has a boost function button which can be used when hearing aid batteries are getting low. Easy to use for a non-tech savvy 100 yr old.A very verty satisfied customer. Highly recommend to those who are hard of hearing!

My mother has dementia and is 95. To be able to reach her immediate network at the press of their photograph has been a lifesaver for her. She has difficulty understanding instructions and as she lives alone her phone is her link to the world beyond her home. The 10 preprogrammed numbers are within her capabilities too.The volume is loud enough for someone hard of hearing! My only comment is that the product would be excellent if the handset was portable for an individual who is not very mobile.Otherwise a great buy for a small price!

Great for elderly with memory and hearing issues, the picture/name buttons brilliant. No worries about remembering numbers for pre saved family members.Hand set doesn't need to be recharged, or go missing from the base.Easy set up too *****
These days the "Landline Phone (Home phone)" is connected to the Internet via your local router. Often-times the router has to be switched off and then on again to connect with a reliable server. The same conditions may arise for a number of reasons, changing power sources, mains failure etc. One would expect that a modern phone like this would be designed with a non-volatile memory, and that is what I assumed when I read the advertisement. In the User Guide, on Page 12 there is a Note: "If the telephone is diconnected or loses power, any stored memory information may be lost." One can only fearfully imagine the consequences of some unsuspecting, vulnerable person requiring to dial a number in an emergency only to find that the phone does not work. I am not sure how to read this but will have to do some trial tests to find out. If the memory is lost I shal have to dispose of the phone because it would be too dangerous.William. MSIEE (Retired)
I bought this for my mother as she is 90, extremely deaf and very easily confused with technology. So far she has found the phone easy to use and when I talk to her she no longer asks me to repeat myself constantly like she does with the other phones in the house. She currently still has a landline phone service so I am hoping once I move her onto the nbn, this phone will be just as clear for her when using the VOIP service she will need to use then. She can easily change the volume and really likes the Boost button. My sister has setup the Memory buttons for her which she can work well. I am very pleased we bought this phone and would recommend it to others with hearing and cognitive issues.
Bought this phone for my mother who has Parkinson's and can't hold a receiver and needs to use a speaker button. Was shocked when it arrived with no speaker button, the maintenance man who was there to install it was also shocked, as we have both never seen a phone without a speaker button. Called the Oricom customer support team who said there was another option with a speaker button, so I guess I'm meant to zoom in and check all the buttons on the phone to ensure a key feature that you would expect to be there is. My feedback was that it should be made clear on the website, which was brushed off with 'we'll pass that onto the marketing team'. Now they want me to pay to return the phone even though it was not clearly stated on their website that the phone does not ... MoreBought this phone for my mother who has Parkinson's and can't hold a receiver and needs to use a speaker button. Now they want me to pay to return the phone even though it was not clearly stated on their website that the phone does not have the speaker function that every phone has & you would expect it to have. Considering this is a product for the elderly & people with a disability, zero empathy or care was shown.
My hearing impaired Mum who still lives alone in her own home is now able to hear her family when they ring her just by pressing the 'Boost Button'. She is happier and more confident now that she can have a conversation with us. Oricom have been excellent to deal with and delivery was very prompt. It was also very well priced. So, so happy with this phone. I only wish I would have discovered it sooner. Thank you Oricom.
Phone is as described. Big buttons. Memory buttons. Adjustable volume levels. It works fine. There is an unacceptable amount of interference noise when using the phone though. Seems to crackle, hiss and have white noise whenever the handset cord moves.
We paired this phone with a 3G / 4G LTE dialer (available elsewhere) for my Mother in Law who lives in a Aged Care home and where landlines cant be organised into the rooms and works great giving the simple functionality of a traditional phone but without a landline, particularly with restrictions on visiting Nursing homes during Covid19. The phone has a nice solid feel to it and the handset good size which the elderly are more used to as the problem we had with using a mobile was it not being always held to the ear properly and therefore could not hear us properly. With the boost button, it also simply boosts the audio if needed. The 6 easy push buttons now makes it a lot easier for her to call family compared to the Mobile she had. Highly recommend this phone ... MoreWe paired this phone with a 3G / 4G LTE dialer (available elsewhere) for my Mother in Law who lives in a Aged Care home and where landlines cant be organised into the rooms and works great giving the simple functionality of a traditional phone but without a landline, particularly with restrictions on visiting Nursing homes during Covid19.
