This is terribly disappointing and we will no longer be feeding this food.

I have fed my two female miniature Dachshunds since I got them as pups. I never started them on puppy food it was either Original or Six Fish and occasionally Regional Red. They are both very healthy and thriving on this kibble and I wouldn't change it for anything. It is expensive but I feel it's worth the price to have such healthy looking and acting dogs. When you feed a quality kibble they waste is much less than cheaper food and doesn't seem to disintegrate as fast. We live on a large property and they do their business in an area away from the house so we don't have to dispose of it and it's usually gone in a day or two. It is easily digested by my dogs and we have no problems with smelly anal gland issues. Try it you'll be impressed with this dry food.

They explained that my kitty would definitely sense any changes in food and he may not like that bag, but they’d be happy to give me a coupon for another one! I was flabbergasted at their positive response. I didn’t expect anything of it but soon I was expecting a coupon in the mail, but I received a curated care package for my cat with treats and a sample of the Six Fish food instead! Loki loved the food, and we made the switch! This is truly such a well run and reputable company. After reading high reviews for this food, I purchased it for my 7.5 month old French bulldog, hoping it would help reduce his shedding. Unfortunately, it did not suit him at all. I tried to stick with it to allow his tummy to adjust to a high protein dog food, but it just did not work out for him. My frenchie’ suffered from severely smelly gas, excessive shedding, and very loose stool. I finally took him off this food and switched him to freshpet and homemade ground Turkey food, and his issues have been resolved.Based on my limited experience, I would not recommend this food for French bulldogs.
We did the research and decided to give it a try. It is appropriate for what we read dogs of different sizes and ages.We found our big husky and little rat terrier love it. They are extremely healthy, beautiful coats, beautiful teeth. It is expensive, wait for sales and stock up. Best dog food we’ve ever used for our dogs. The rat terrier is a rescue, informed 5 years old. She looks so healthy, teeth are beautiful, our vet thought the rat terrier was about 2 years old.
My 13 yr old Min-Pin has a history of skin issues so feeding him a healthy fish diet and/or supplementing with a salmon oil has always been the way to minimize problems. Recently, he started to snub the food he's been on for quite some time so after research I tried this one. Both he and the maltipoo seemed to love it the first couple of feeds but refused it from then on. I could get them to eat it with a supplemental topper for digestion but after a week or so they caught on and began to pick out and even just lick the yummy off and spit out the kibble. I found also that even when they did ear an entire serving they acted like they were starving long before their next mealtime. I have been feeding my German Shepherd Orijen 6 fish for over a year... over the last 3 months something has changed in the recipe - although not listed on the package (I believe companies have 6 months to adjust their packaging to list new or modified ingredients). Last two bags caused incredible itching, and ear infection due to an allergen that was not there before. I changed to open farm in between the last two bags and itching was drastically reduced, then just bought the 6 fish again as an experiment and dogs are itching again like crazy. So disappointed, was really happy with this food in the past even though it is expensive it was worth it.... Not sure if the Mars buyout has impacted the ingredients ... but something has drastically changed.
I was very excited to start feeding my rescue dog Orijen even before we got her. Started her on the Original recipe but found that she has major sensitivities so we tried Six Fish. Her skin and coat are now healthy and soft. She is at a healthy weight, good stool, and overall has more energy. I feel great knowing i am feeding the best quality, nutrient dense, biologically appropriate food for my dog. Very grateful for Champion Pet Foods.
