Enjoy piece of mind and convenience with the Orion security range. The Smart Wi-Fi Entrance Lock is designed to retrofit your existing door handle or knob that uses a standard 54mm diameter cut-out. This product contains a range of unlocking methods to suit your needs. A fingerprint sensor allows for quick and easy daily access, while the backlit keypad supports temporary codes for guests and ongoing codes for regular users. RFID tags and mechanical keys are also included with the product. You can add dozens of users, with a secure locking mode that can restrict access to administrators and physical keys only. Pair your lock to the Grid Connect app to enable notifications or view a log of recent unlocks. Fingerprints, tags and codes can be linked to names or accounts to easily see which user has unlocked your door. Generate single use codes or set scheduled, time-limited access for guests. This device uses 4 AA alkaline batteries (included). Low battery warnings provide reminders when the batteries need to be replaced, or you can check the battery status in the app. There is a microUSB port for backup power, and the mechanical keys can also be used if the lock has run out of battery. This entrance lock uses a 54mm diameter cut-out at a backset of 60/70mm from the door edge, and requires the door thickness to be between 35-55mm. The product is suitable for DIY installation on doors that already have a suitable cut-out, and requires an additional mounting hole to be drilled above the main cut-out. The product is not designed for DIY replacement of mortise or rim locks, and professional installation is recommended for new doors. Installation videos are available on the Grid Connect website. This product is compatible with the Grid Connect smart home automation system, built to optimise your everyday living. Simply download the free Grid Connect app on your iOS or Android device and use your home Wi-Fi or mobile internet connection to monitor, customise and automate your products. It takes only minutes to set up, and there’s a wide range of products available that allow you to customise your system any way you like. What a piece of junk. Won't lock from the inside using the locking tab, overly complicated setup which after months of trying I still can't get it right. Excellent product to assist you local crim with their next home invasion. Direct sunlight s eems to make the lock start talking to itself, I ended up have to buy a traditional deadlock and just use this useless piece of rubbish as an expensive passage set. Do not buy this product if you actually want to do something crazy like actually lock your door from the inside.

Installed with little to no issues at all, wishing I had a third arm, once installed looks nice and acts as expected. The wifi notifications are a bit slow running between 5 seconds to sometimes 30 despite signal strength being max. The handle itself could be a little sturdier and wouldn’t feel the most safe if this was the only thing on the door but more than security it adds convenience. I might end up getting a smart deadlock system installed if I want something more secure feeling. As for the accompanying grid connect app, wish it was more intuitive and user friendly, as of now a lot of the useful functions are hidden behind at least 3 unnecessary windows.

I was looking for a replacement for the existing Gainsborough Trilock that the builder installed. The dimensions that are available are not sufficient to judge whether it would cover the old holes and lack of paint, so I had a bit of a discussion in Mindarie about returns. The distance from center latch to the bottom is about 60mm and covers everything in my situation perfectly. Changing from left to right was very simple. I needed one additional 8mm hole for the install, that was all. The latch has less play than the Gainsborough lock and overall the lock makes a good impression, not cheap and nasty. Teaching in codes, fingerprints and the 4 included RFID tags worked flawlessly. I tried 125khz HID cards for fun, they don't work. Teaching in codes, fingerprints and the 4 included RFID tags worked flawlessly. I tried 125khz HID cards for fun, they don't work. The fingerprint reader seems to be reasonably reliable but I would always program a code too. Some complaints on here are not quite justified. For example the secure switch on the inside only locks out anything but administrators. This is clearly described in the quick start manual. Pairing with the app went well too. Push messages work well within the limitations of the technology. After waking up the wifi needs to connect, obtain an address and sync to the grid connect cloud. This will take a few seconds. If it was permanently connected it would burn through batteries. The entry request function via push works well. The time window may be a little short. As far as I can tell users can't be cleared from the lock via the app. The assignment of names is more to make the history readable. User deletion happens by credential number on the lock itself. I had it now for 24h so can't talk about long term reliability but for now I'm positively surprised at this price point. A full manual with detailed dimensions would have helped in my case, I couldn't find that on the website. A white or stainless steel version would have looked better on the white door. The black looks quite bulky.

I got this lock that replaced a relatively expensive Gainsborough nonsmart entrance lock. It was a quick and simple swap-over. LItterly 10min. Hides the two big holes needed for the previous lock and looks good. I had issues programing at first as the instructions do need to be improved but once you understand how to do it it makes sense. I think having a noisy house didnt help as its hard to hear the voice prompts. The lock has proven to be reliable for finger scan, pin and RFID as backup. It also has two step authentication eg Thumb and either pin or RFID as extra security which is great. The only time it has issues is in the morning or night with condensation on the finger reader. Just give it a quick wipe and press a bit harder than normal and it will work. Just ... MoreI got this lock that replaced a relatively expensive Gainsborough nonsmart entrance lock. During day there is never any issues and it opens up within a second of putting my thumb on it. One thing i would like is to be able to set schedules or tempory blocks on programed users. It does have an option in the app to have schedules random or perminant pin numbers but would be great to be able to do it on the finger and rfid tags too. For Price its great and really no point spending more on a smart lock as it does the job well. Its also made by Yale if need proof of quality.
Does what it says on the tin although I would have appreciated if there was an option to remotely lock or unlock or if it can tell the status of lock - locked or unlocked. Very easy to install - just follow the instructions. I have been using a lot of different products from Grid connect and the experience has been satisfactory. Price is reasonable too and the lock looks reasonably premium. Go for it , you will not regret. You don’t need to hire anyone for the installation. Just follow the instructions in the YouTube video.
Purchased and installed a few weeks back. If you want to get frustrated so bad you want to smash it with a hammer buy this one. My wife is set up a as an administrator yet it won't let her unlock the door. She has been locked out the front more times than I care to remember. Have tried everything it's so frustrating I'm not far off returned item to the store. Don't get me started on thier smart deadbolt!!!
I’ve bought this yesterday and installed. Usually I go for Samsung locks but the door thickness was 35mm internal width but solid door for entry to house from garage. The Samsungs seem to go down to 40mm from what I could find. Replaced an existing Kevo which was showing its age. Fitted neatly into standard internal door hole, a small extra hole in the door was required. Learns fingerprints, cards and codes no problem. Might be better when setting up users to make them all admin as the switch on the inside locks out non admin users. Tested the remote unlock, was pretty happy that works, and set it to passage mode so it doesn’t lock every time I go to the garage. It looks good and installs easily. Bought for my mother after we installed and discovered the convenience of a smart lock at our house (different brand). Our experience with the Orion was, on the other hand, terrible. As two engineers who had done this before, I didn't expect it to take us hours for my husband and I to get this thing in a workable state. Their quality control must not be great, because the door would only engage when the handle was rotated up. When rotated down (AKA how 99% of people open a door), there was too large a gap for the hinge to engage and push the slide that moves the latch in and out. My husband managed to fix that with a hammer. Then the latch on the back doesn't work - even if the switch is in the unlocked position, the door remains locked from the outside - unless you ... MoreBought for my mother after we installed and discovered the convenience of a smart lock at our house (different brand). The features are nice (RFID, fingerprint unlock, doorbell and remote unlock requests). Just wish the build quality was better...a lot better.
Installed it for my home three weeks ago, was easy to installed and looks good too. Works with fobs, key, passcode and fingure touch. The programming instruction is not very user friendly ( a bit confusing) and the fact that it comes with chinese language by default is annoying. But you can change the language to english which makes setup much easier. Heads up, unlike what you think, you can't open the door through the app unless conditions met ( which is for security of course). Consider the price and features, It is pretty good. I gave 4 start, just because of instruction issues, and chinese default language which was annoying. Other than that, it is pretty good so far
Pros: - Looks great! - Perfectly hides Gainsborough "Door Death by Trilock" - Has Fingerprint scanner - Has 4 Tags - Passcode Cons - No Alexia / Google Assistant connectivity! Can't ask Alexia to check the door is locked! - No remote management of any kind really. - Grid App defers to lock for basically all core functionality which is a PITA. - Cannot lock / unlock at all via smart home app - Passenger mode can only be enabled /disable by directly engaging with the front face of the lock l l, standing outside!? - lock security is 100% predicated upon door trim ability to prevent user getting access to the strike. Really, my biggest issue with this lock... it lacks so many features that I feel are required to be deemed a smart lock.
