Awesome! Keep it in the trunk of my car and whenever I have time and see a great place to float - I stop and unfold and off I go! Loving the peace and calm of floating and drifting on lovely ponds and lakes in New England!

I bought the Lake after a disappointing experience with a previously purchased folding-kayak, that turned out to be too heavy and to sink. The Oru Lake was a welcome arrival. I can carry it easily. It has opened up new kayak experiences (with my dog). I could not reach before! Very satisfied!

I put it together and took it down in my front room. Waiting for the ice to go off the lake before trying it out. The assembly was easy and taking it down went well. Who knew reading the directions could actually help

I called to get information as to what model of Kayak would be best suited for going down rivers that may have some rapids. The two reps that I talked to didn't know anything about the kayaks. It seemed like the sport of kayaking rather it leisure or about speed, was foreign to them. They seemed to know less about kayaking than me, and I'm a beginner. Based on the customer service and as one rep named Jose put it that the kayaks void the warranty if you take them out on anything that isn't listed online and they rip or tear. He also said that the kayaks were built for mobility and not durability. He said it is what it is. What a way NOT to sell a product. I told him that in the state I live in people like to kayak down rivers because we don't have may lakes. I was looking for something versatile and asked what he would refer. His response was oh well I guess that cuts out that whole state for buying that item. Very rude! Based on the customer service alone. I wouldn't spend my money on this product. The two reps talked me right out of it. I'll put my money elsewhere, or figure out how to build my own.
I purchased a Lake and Bay ST at the same time to replace my hard shells. I thought I would be using the Bay ST exclusively and I do love it. But I am surprised at how often I throw the Lake in the back of the car for those quick outings that still last hours. Lake is stable- the only water inside where I paddle is from my feet. It’s a surprising boat I can set up in 1.5 minutes and be in the water- If I can get past the other paddlers who want to see my backpack turn into a boat. Thanks for this great design.
It is so easy to meet friends and go kayaking. It fits in the trunk of my corvette! I’ve even went solo several times, locking up a bike downtown Chattanooga and driving to put in on chickamauga creek. Down creek, into TN river and down to city pier. Lock up kayak, bike back to vehicle, then pick up kayak.
Just got back from Kauai. Paddled 6 out of 8 days including the rivers and inshore reefs. Kayak draws lots of attention. Love the portability and quick setups. I feel very comfortable in it. I have 4 kayaks and this one is my favorite. Great job Oru!!
I got my kayak this summer and was able to get out at least 15 times on local lakes. It's well named, it definitely does best in gentle water. The kayak is sitting idle now in the Pacific Northwest fall and winter. I can't wait to get out on it again when the weather warms up next year!
I was lucky enough to be early to join the Kick Start for this amazing little Kayak. I was expect an August and SURPRISE, I got it on my birthday weekend in June!!! I have taken the lake out several times since and love the way this little kayak handles on the water. I’m pretty much a novice but have paddle rental kayaks and I feel this lake handles just a well as the rental kayaks. I am very happy with this Oru Lake! I have recommended it to several of my friend and they are seriously considering getting one for themselves.I live and travel full time in my 25ft sprinter RV and Oru has given me the greatest option to own and travel with a kayak in limited space without sacrificing how the kayak handles on the water. Thanks Oru for a great product!
It doesn't tell you anything. It sort of shows you what you should be doing but it is really NO help at all. The lake is so new there aren't any other videos available to walk you through it. Very disappointed.Again, not in the kayak itself. Just this video
