Beats the name brand. I've purchased these, and the name brand alternative at Woolies, and these ones win hands down. The name brand version, I went through a whole packet in a couple of months, with a tear or snap happening each week. Disheartened, I bought the Oscar Orsen ones because I wanted to spend as little money as possible if I was going to have to buy a new packet every few months. What a surprise it was to find these elastrics stretch better and have more give to suit your needs (my hair is thick and dense so I have all the needs!). They also don't tear away at the join for months, and I've never had one of these snap ever. My one packet has been going and going for over a year now and still the packet is over half full. Great value and great quality.

Strong & Stretchy Hair Tie. I use hair elastics all the time to tie my thick hair, particularly to keep my hair back when cooking. These Oscar Orsen Large Flat Elastics have lots of good features - metal free, strong, no snag stretchy elastic. They hold my thick hair and because they are flat they sit better. They are very good value at $6. 80 for 30. They come in a handy soft plastic pouch. There is no getting away from the fact that these are made in China, as are all similar products. Thank you Bunch for the opportunity to try and review these Oscar Orsen Large Flat Elastics.

Great everyday hair elastics. These were strong keeping my thick hair in place. The 30 pack will be useful so I can keep some in my bag, at work etc. I was disappointed the band on the outside of the pack snapped when I tried to use it. These were extremely hard to find in any of the 3 Woolworths near where I live. They were always unavailable but the other colours were there. My hair is very dark brown so I prefer the black hair bands.

Great elastic for thick hair. I have used them for myself and my daughter. We both have thick hair and prefer scrunchie over elastic usually. These elastic hold our ponytail well during HIIT classes and running. They are quite gentle and don’t pull as well. I would definitely recommend them. They are always out of stock at our local, grab as many as you can if you find any!

Quality bands. I am impressed with these bands. They’re made in China, but are a reasonable price for 30 compared to other brands. The package is sealable and handy for storage, though I found the one attached to the front of the package difficult to remove because of the small cable tie. The bands are flat and metal attachment free. They are slightly thinner than other bands but have more elasticity and flexibility, which I liked. They held my long, thick ponytail well and in place while I was at work and did not catch or knot on to any hair when being removed. Highly recommend.

Thick, sturdy and hold their shape. So I road tested these on my toddler going to daycare. We are constantly buying new elastics for her due to them snapping or stretching out of shape. We pull her hair up quite tight most days (prevention is the best cure when head lice are concerned), often the elastics will stretch and staff at her daycarr will end up having to redo her hair. Also worth noting she has incredibly long, fine and curly hair which also makes removing elastics difficult. We have had 0 issues with these. They stay in, don't stretch and don't pull any of her hair out. They do cost a bit more, but you get multiple uses out of them compared to the cheaper ones. Also they are a nice size to start with and fit on your wrist without digging in.

So far, so good. They work well. Elastic seems to be holding up with no thinning, don't snag on hair when pulling them out, overall good experience. Obviously haven't used all of them and time is the ultimate test, but so far so good. UPDATE - So this update comes after they've gone through some solid use and they have started thinning and breaking. Potentially a bit sooner than you would like but not bad overall.

Great value for money. 30 elastic bands for this price is an absolute steal. As someone with quite thick hair, it can easily hold my hair up with just 3 loops and so far has not slipped out of my hair like some other elastics do. I also like that it does not have a metal connector as quite often most of my elastics break at the metal section. Overall it is a great product, however, I do wish that it was a little bigger or more elastic so that it can comfortably fit on my wrist without cutting off my circulation. 100% would buy again once I lose them all.

Great hair ties. Both my daughter and I have tried these hair ties and love them. We both have thick hair and skinny ties just don't hold our pony tails. These bands are great - good hold but still easier for younger girls to use - lots of flexibility. They don't seem to damage our hair either. We love having a packet of these hanging around! Would love to see them in other "hair" colours.

Good stretch, no tangles. I have long, thick, curly hair. When I tie it in a do-dad (our name for hair ties), it needs to tie around my ponytail three times. Twice is too loose, & four times is too tight & gives me a headache. These do-dads tie three times &, most importantly, they don’t get tangled coming out. They are very neat once tied and based on all that alone, I’d buy them. The only draw back was, I pulled six out of the packet randomly, to be my sample. Of those, two snapped as I was using them for the first time. At a failure rate of 2/6, I wouldn’t buy them. One expects do-dads to snap eventually, after many uses, but not straight out of the packet.
