I found the Osmo system at the beginning of the pandemic and boy am I glad I did. It was the best thing I could have bought for my little one. We literally ended up buying almost all the Osmo sets available. They are not only fun but educational and the educational aspect the kiddos don’t even realize! They learn without knowing they are learning something new. I’ve bought Osmo sets for friends kids also!

We got the Osmo Little Genius Starter Kit to accompany our own iPad for our toddler a couple of years ago. He still plays with it all of the time. We have purchased the additional counting/math pack and purchased a few more of the apps to go along with the kit so he can play new games. He loves the creativity of helping complete the stories, he has learned so many shapes and how to construct them with the pieces, he uses the numbers to count and practice addition and subtraction. He has learned to navigate through the apps to find the activities he loves and always gets excited to show us what he is working on. Absolutely worth the investment as we feel he is learning so much while getting to have fun!

My son found Osmo between 3 4 and loved it from the start. These were his intro, teaching him letters, numbers, empathy and creativity. The starter games are great for every kid of that age, probably up to around 6. My one complaint is the story mode. It's a good concept, where you use the character cards to solve simple puzzles by finding useful items. The problem is there's only a few stories and we've been through them all so many times that he started using memory to complete them rather than problem solving! Thankfully we've got another couple of expansion packs since then.

A hit with my kids and I both!

I sit down with my two youngest kids, age 2 and 5, and have a blast seeing them have a blast wanting to play for long periods of time on the games for this Osmo Little Genius Kit. It's refreshing to find a learning game that they both can, and want to play for longer than just a few minutes. I even played the games right along with them and enjoyed it as well! Making learning fun is what the Osmo kit is definitely all about, and great at doing! Even my teen daughters were interested in playing along and watching their brothers play the Osmo learning games. I think the building and creating creatures and faces game was the favorite one for all of us, as the possibilities were endless for the creations you can make. The concept of the games were easy enough for even our 2 year old to play and figure out with limited help, so it's truly easy to adapt for a good variety of ages. The two little storage boxes with lids for storing the loose pieces was a great idea and is easy to keep track of when not in use. The boys even decided to make a game of putting the pieces in those boxes and then dumping them out. We all look forward to playing and learning with this kit for years to come, and looking for the other kits that Osmo has to offer as well.

Awesome Learning Program for Your Little One!

I have a two year old daughter (she’ll be three in two months) and while she is on the younger side of the recommended age for this program, she still found it very fun and was able to participate and engage. Some tasks were a little difficult for her being on the younger end, but we were able to adapt and do the tasks together which she loved. He introduced himself and then asked her name and she answered back like it was her best friend. He waved hello and she’d wave back at the screen. He was very kid friendly and engaging. The ABC’s game has three different features. First, it puts the letter up on the screen and allows your child to recreate the letter to learn how to write the letter. Using your iPad’s camera with the special stand that comes with this pack allows the game to really be interactive. The character then “pulls” your child’s creation on the screen in a side by side to the sample letter so they can compare how well they did. Next, the character tells your child what the letter sounds like and uses a word that starts with that letter as an example. My daughter had so much fun listening to the way each letter sounded and practicing with Mo. Last, the character shows an example of the word. For example, when we came across the letter E, he used the word “Egg” and then asked my daughter to create an egg with her game pieces and showed her an example of how to do that. This game was her favorite out of the four. She was able to try and piece together the letters and drawings on the play mat with help, but really learned from the character on what the letters looked like and how they sounded.The second game we played was the Costume Party. This was the easiest game for her to play. It was basically matching, one of my daughter’s favorite games. The character starts in basic under clothes and has several play pieces to mix and match creating several different options for costumes. It shows a thinking cloud with one piece of the puzzle to look for. I laid out all the pieces for her to be able to find and place on the character herself. She was able to do this with minimum help. The second part of this game teachers her colors. Once she’s selected all the correct pieces, it then wants her to change the color of a certain piece. It will show the color in the thinking bubble and then she has to select the correct color from twelve color paintbrushes on the side of the screen. We are working on colors so this was not too hard for her. However, I had to help her with knowing what to do with the color once she selected the correct color.The third game we played was Stories. This was the same matching concept as Costume Party, but a little more difficult. In the beginning of the story it quickly flashes three cards to dress your character up as and doesn’t give you a way to review it. For a younger player, this is a difficult task. It also moved the character and started the story as soon as my daughter had one piece of the three piece costume on her character. So she wasn’t listening as she tried to get the rest of her pieces on the character. However, she loves stories so for the character to read her a story kept her engaged after that. I also loved how it provided her with the opportunity to think about the tasks in this game. For example, with each head piece and middle (shirt) piece it has one to two objects on either that hat or shirt. This game asked my daughter to help during the story by giving a problem and having her pick the solution. If she chose the wrong object, it would keep going until she picked the right object and gave her hints if she became stuck. This is going to help her develop her problem solving techniques.The last game we played was Squiggle Magic. This was fun for my daughter because it was her drawings coming to life! In this game, Mo asked her to create a happy face and then pulled her image onto the screen. It then assigned a body to her happy face and had her create a robot head and assigned another body to her creation. She had fun drawing on this game and watching her creations come alive!I absolutely loved everything about this game! It’s going to be wonderful in helping her learn her alphabet, colors and tasks for years to come. The only thing I would like to see improved and the ability to move smoother and go back to a homepage between games. When we initially downloaded the Little Genius app, we had to also download each game individually and when you try to move from one game to another, you have to get out of the current game and reopen the main Osmo Little Genius app because it automatically opens each game in the individual game app (that you downloaded separately). I do love that there is a parent app that I could download and see progress on. It gives you updates such as recent activity, media gallery and achievements. This feature is great if you have children on the older side of the recommended age spectrum who can understand and play each game by themselves for independent play. If you have more than one child in the age range for this product, you can create a separate profile for each child.

Check compatibility with your ipad first

Make sure you check if your ipad is compatible with osmo before buying.We purchased osmo Christmas 2022 along with a newly released ipad and they weren't compatible. After looking into it the osmo website stated that compatibility for our ipad would come in 2023, it's the end of June and we are still waiting. Our 4 year old daughter was very dissapointed that she couldn't use it.

Definitely an educational game

I am glad that I got this osmo little genius starter kit for my 5 years old son. He learns while having fun playing with osmo. I am happy to see my son that he is enjoying the games. This kit has 4 different games that my son can choose from. He likes the costume party and stories the most. These games are very helpful for him because it gives him more focus in one game at a time until he finish it before switching to the other game. Anyway, the kit works well to ipad 6th generation which i used for this kit. So far I do not have any issue for this especially in installing the game. Very easy to install and very easy to follow the instructions. Educational Fun for the Tech Savvy Toddler

I’d heard of Osmo before and thought it looked pretty amazing, but never used it because my kiddo is only 3 ½. This fall we start the school journey with pre-k 3 in just a few days so I had to grab this new Little Genius starter kit for younger learners right away!Upon opening the kit my initial thought was the kit was so cute!!! It keeps my daughter pretty occupied for a good amount of time. I really love that there’s a place to store all the little physical pieces and the containers are dishwasher safe (bonus!).The costume game was lots of fun but Scribbles game was a bit more difficult and she got discouraged quickly. I'm hoping that they put some easier levels on the app as time progresses. I received this product a couple weeks ago and my son could not wait to set it up. It is recommended for ages 3-5 and my son is 2 but advanced for his age. He loved getting to play with the pieces even without the iPad but once we got the iPad set up he was even more interested in the product. The games are both challenging and simple so it makes it fun as well as educational. I like how it incorporates technology with hands on pieces so that the child is not just looking at a screen. The quality of the product is excellent and everything feels durable which is necessary for a young child's toy. The silicone and costume pieces each had their own storage containers to keep everything organized neatly to store away. One other con is that the Osmo base and camera attachment only works without the case being on which can be a pain having to remove it to play. I would recommend this product to friends and I would like to buy the other sets to expand our collection for even more fun. It would be a great tool to have in classrooms!

This kit is far ahead of it's time if that makes sense. I cannot get over how interactive it is and on top of that, how simple it is for my son and daughter to follow along and program/work with. The makers certainly ensured that they worked out the kinks and must have tested this on an array of children. my kids are absolutely in love! I sincerely hope that schools and daycares get funding for this program and are able to incorporate it into their classrooms. My daughter loves dancing around and I can visual and audibly hear that she is learning skills such as hand/eye coordination, creativity, and cause/affect. The kit is great for traveling/entertaining and it is something that is great when we go out for dinner as a family. I will certainly be purchasing this as an activity for my eldest son as they other have age geared products.
