Just used this pack for the first time for a 4 day / 3 night hike of the Thorsborne Trail, starting weight around 18kg (carrying extra with 2 kids). Pack was very comfortable, no problems breaking in at all. Weight distribution to the hips was perfect once I got the adjustments correct for my fit / size. Front opening and bottom access were both handy, more than I expected. The left hip pocket fit in my smart phone, which is not a small one. Only criticism would be that the water bottle in the side mesh pockets couldn't reach while wearing the pack; but that seemed to be the case with all of us and our various packs. Good quality, heavy duty material. I highly recommend this pack.

Amazing pack!

Has all the features I was looking for (opens like a duffle bag, removable daypack, and shove-it pocket in front), they've thought of everything in this one! I always end up overpacking or don't have the space for everything I want to bring, and at 70l this will definitely eliminate that problem. Such incredible quality too, this pack will last me a lifetime!

Big fan so far!

Bought this a few weeks ago for a backpacking trip to Olympic National Park and it’s been great so far! I’m a 5’9” woman with athletic/curvy build. Thoughtful compartments, detachable smaller pack, built in rain cover, and seems pretty lightweight to me. I love the green color of the pack and the neon green color of the rain cover. My other pack is a 45 Osprey from 4 years ago and this frame seems more supportive/better padded.

Fantastic pack for mountaineering, great on petite

I searched high and low for a large 65-75 liter pack that would still fit my short torso, and this bag was the answer. I took the Ariel Plus 70-Liter pack on a 3-day climb of Mount Rainier and it had all the straps, buckles, pockets, and extra space I needed to fit crampons, trekking poles, ice axe, water bottles, food, clothing, sleeping bag and sleeping pad, and 2 pairs of hiking boots (trail boots and double insulated climbing boots)! The bag just kept expanding to meet my needs, and I was impressed at how well-designed it was. Most importantly, my pack was 40-45 pounds, and the weight distribution of this pack allowed me to carry that heavy load up the mountain. I tried so many backpacks, most of them built for men or larger frames, and this bag was perfect for my needs. It's expensive but very well made, and will last many years. The 70L is perfect for a 3 to 5 day trip, I got the 100L Aether and my girlfriend bought this and between us I feel like we could spend a couple weeks in the wilderness with all the gear and food we are able to bring with us!Well built, stable & very comfortable with the amount of padding on these packs.Should last us our lifetimes...and the warranty doest hurt either ;)

Great pack!

I used this pack on my first ever backpacking trip, and though I have nothing else to compare it to, I thought it performed great. Given that I ended up with a pack weight of 42 pounds (!) it was pretty comfortable. I did have little trouble getting the strap adjustments correct, but I think that was probably user error and lack of experience. Overall, I loved the components of the pack and loved that the brain turns into a daypack, which was really convenient having to check my pack to fly to the trip destination.

My pack has just turned up. I love the colour. It’s the same pack I brought for my husband but the female version. I have used his and although it was a little big for me it is a great pack.Lots of handy zips and pockets.

I have the Osprey Renn 50L which I took on the West Coast Trail but my space was limited. I plan to hike in Iceland this summer snd needed something a bit bigger. This pack is perfect! So many great features and super comfortable!

This is a great hiking pack - fits a lot of gear and is comfortable. I love the aerated back feature and all the straps which are handy. Tom’s outdoors delivered it quickly and with recyclable materials which was great!
