I purchased this backpack for backcountry skiing. I haven't had a chance to use it in that context but I took it on a long hike and was really satisfied. It is extremely well constructed, light, and not bulky at all. After some trial-and-error, I was able to adjust it perfectly to my relatively small frame. I especially appreciate the shoulder strap design: I tend to hold a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders and the straps were super comfortable and distributed weight evenly.

I chose this pack for backcountry snowshoeing hikes. On my second try, I was able to strap them on I'm a way they don't stick down too far. I love the inward-opening zipper so I can access contents without unstrapping the snowshoes, and the sleeve to keep my bladder hose from freezing. I wish the hip pockets were big enough for my phone, or that there was a stretchy pocket on the front strap like on my running vest. Otherwise I love it.

Awesome functional pack for daytrips in the backcountry - great for helmet, jacket, skins, water and snacks.
Its high-quality materials on this backpacks - Osprey Sopris 20L. I'm glade is mine :)
Really like this backpack. Lightweight, but has all the storage space you need for shovel, probe, water, carrying skis, belt pocket and helmet carrier. Plus the padding next to your back feels like good protection. Having seen mine a friend has just purchase the same one.
I purchased this to use for skinning on my local resort and for backcountry day trips. As usual with Osprey, the materials and design are thoughtful and high quality. The verdigris green is a fantastic vibrant color. The waist belt is just right for added stability when you want it, but can be tucked away easily. There are two features I'd prefer different. The main compartment of the pack is accessible only from the back panel, so you can't swing the pack around and reach into the compartment easily. You have to take the pack off entirely and likely put it on the ground to get into the main compartment. I think front access to all compartments would be easier and faster, especially when grabbing or stowing extra layers.Additionally, a sleeve or dedicated place for a hydration bladder would be nice. Yes, sometimes hoses freeze with exposure, but they're useful most of the time. There's a hanging loop inside the main compartment, but placing a hydration bladder there means it's on top and in the way of all your gear when you open the pack (access to the main compartment is through the back of the pack only). There's no exterior pocket of any kind for a water bottle, so staying hydrated is more of a hassle than I'd like it to be. Front access to the main compartment would resolve both issues. I'll be interested to see if I adapt to the pack, or if these features become a hassle.
