Spend the money to get an IKEA one. Poor quality, the wooden pieces that connect everything easily snap when you put together. Worst quality. Save your self the time and hassle and buy from IKEA instead.

Does not assemble easily at all and parts don’t line up well enough. I’ve wasted so much time trying to put it together when the instructions say it should take 60 minutes. It is not sturdy at all which makes the build a lot trickier.To add to this, I was offered no assistance to my car when I purchased it- it comprises of 2 15kg long boxes which was not easy to manage by myself

Disgusting product. Flimsy, chipped and stained. Having to drill extra holes so we can attach it to the wall and to hold together shelves. Don’t waste your money. And to top it off, the communication between me and Officeworks for my delivery was horrible.

Bought this because Ikea had sold out of the Kallax. It is very clear that Otto copied the Ikea design, and from a distance it looks like a good job. When built, this unit looks pretty good. Inside however, this thing is made of the worst excuse for particle board I have ever seen. Have to be VERY careful to not over tighten screws because even at finger tight they rip the board to pieces. Fully assembled, the unit rocks left and right. It needs to be attached to a wall and I think this isn't to protect children, it is to stop the unit falling down by itself sideways.I regret the decision to not wait for Ikea.
I bought two of these. I am a bit of an amateur and found that putting this together took longer than expected. The result was a nice bookshelf, but a little on the wobbly side. If you had kids, I would recommend you anchor this to the wall. It works well in my office however and looks nice.
I bought this during stage 4 restrictions in Melbourne. I have a similar IKEA unit which was a breeze to put together but was unable to get to an IKEA store. This looked similar but I had 2 problems putting it together. The materials are of poor quality - 2 of the dowels caused part of the wood to flake off on the upright piece between the shelves. One of the screws snapped off on tightening so left with it not completely secure. Would not recommend at all!
Put this together fairly quickly. Some label stickers had fallen off panels but was easy to determine which they were. Unit is solid once fully assembled. For the price it does a great job.
Easy to assemble, and quality (and price) equivalent to Ikea. Suited as an extra surface and shelves for student bedroom.
I bought these shelves about a year ago. 2 of the shelves have broken through normal use. Compared with a similar product from a scandi superstore, which we also have, the shelves on the Officeworks product is thinner and clearly not suitable for regular use.
We have purchased 3 of these at different times, and they're excellent. Great quality comparative to others I've seen elsewhere. The shelving is strong and fairly easy to assemble.
