Will give this 5 stars but some issues . My olde English bulldogge loves it, but she chewed it a bit. Is an interactive toy, have to keep stuffing the squirrels inside, or she does not care. And 3 of the squirrels lost the squeak in a single day, and she pulled off the leaves, and I had to take them away for fear of her choking on them, but she Snuggles with it when she isn't Playing with it. However, for the price? She loves it! And may have to get another. Well worth the money for her enjoyment! We have squirrel time TV, from YouTube, so squirrels are her thing. Wish it was a bit sturdier, but my dog loves it!

Although the cardboard bottom was also plushy and could hold the trunk upright, after a few days of some serious playtime with it, the bottom became a bit crinkled and smashed. He also slept on it and used it as a pillow at least one time too, so he might have mashed it from that instance. Lucky Star doesn’t seem to care since he still plays with the trunk whether he plays with little squirrels in conjunction with it or not. The tree trunk also has four “knot hole” cut outs and one at the top to insert the toy squirrels or your arm for interactive play. These holes are well sewn and should stand up to many hours of puppy play with noses poking inside trying to pull out the squirrels or its human poking the squirrel in or out of the holes through the top of the trunk. I think this is the best part because I can play with my dog too! *The Toy Squirrels* This product comes with six plush toy squeak squirrels that are so adorable! They each has a big bushy tail, cute faces, a big tuff of hair on their lovable heads, and dark brown stripes on each sides of their little bodies. I got the biggest delight when I squeezed one, and it squeaked! I was not expecting that, and neither was Lucky Star! His ears went up, and he was at full attention. It was on like Donkey Kong! Play Time! He enjoys playing with the squirrels with or without the tree trunk. Sometimes he plays with one squirrel by running around the house squeaking it, running to another squirrel, grabbing the next one, then running around the the second squirrel squeaking, and over and over until he is exhausted and takes a nap. Using the toy squirrels with the tree trunk can provide all sorts of different types of fun games to play with your dog. “Which Hole is He In?” is an all time favorite. “How Many Can You Catch At Once?” is another fun game. “Peek A Boo, I Squeak You!” really gets a dog excited! “Toss the Squirrels” is a winner too. The potential games are endless. *Nap Time* After playing hard with the Hide-A-Squirrel, Lucky Star will snuggle up to his toys and fall asleep. The tree trunk is a comfy plushy pillow for him to guard his new squirrel friends after a hard romp in the house. And when all the dogs are tired out, it means I can sleep well too.

Max's new fav
22 July 2020

Max is our Jack Russel Terrier. He loves it when we receive a package he loves to play with the packing materials and rip them apart, But he was especially excited to be able to play with the contents of the package instead of just the packing materials, I could see the joy in his eyes. He loves this new toy. There are six durable squirrels with squeakers that can be stuffed into the very plush tree trunk. It has 5 holes which Max can fit his snout in and pull the squirrels out. The listing shows pictures of an upright tree trunk but in reality it will not stand up easily, but regardless, the dog will knock it over immediately to play with it. At first he liked pulling out all the squirrels and squeaking them. Now he seems to be more fond of the tree trunk that they ... MoreMax is our Jack Russel Terrier. Max is pretty rough on stuffed animals, he rips them apart pretty quickly. The squirrels are holding up well. Since the tree trunk it is more plush and the object of Max's affections it has a few pieces chewed off already but still in pretty decent shape after about a week of play. The price may seem a bit high but when you consider you are getting 6 toys rather than just one and one of them is huge it really isn't bad.

Piggie Loves the Squirrels!
18 April 2020

I received the 'Hide a Squirrel Fun Hide and Seek Interactive Puzzle Plush Dog Toy by Outward Hound' a little over a month or so ago. My pup Piggie loves it. Piggie is a very chubby toy chihuahua. The 6 squirrels that come with the toy are about 5 inches long and 3 inches tall - not counting the 4 in fuzzy tail. The tree is a foot tall and about 9 inches across at the truck. All of the parts are very well made using good quality fabric. The squirrels are tightly stuffed which has helped them not be destroyed by my vicious Piggie who normally kills lesser quality stuffed animals in a days time. She's played with it daily and the squirrels look as good as they day we got them. I have even washed one of the squirrels in the washing machine by accident. She's played with it daily and the squirrels look as good as they day we got them. I have even washed one of the squirrels in the washing machine by accident. Piggie had 'buried it' in the laundry stack on laundry day and I did not notice it until it came time to fold the clothes. It was no worse the wear. I don't know if they intended them to be washable but that one survived. Every night I pick up the squirrels and stuff them inside their holes in the tree trunk and put the toy out of reach of Piggie because as with any stuffed toys, pets should be monitored when playing with it. Every morning I put the tree down and the fun starts. Piggie pulls each squirrel out, one by one and drags it to her bed, then proceeds to shake it to death. The she goes and gets another and repeats the process. Or sometimes she hides them under the couch or takes them out onto our front porch. She loves resting her head on one of them when she having her daily sunbath. She never gets tired of them. I am constantly stepping over squirrels. She loves that there are soooo many of them. And the squirrels themselves are super cute. My bigger dog is not a fan of stuffed animals but she has 'stolen' them from Piggle from time to time. She's a 38 pound flat coated retriever. I thought the squirrels would be too small and be a chocking hazard for her but they are big enough to prevent her from swallowing them. We are all very pleased with this product and when the squirrels die, I will order more of them. Thanks for taking the time to read my review. Please see the attached photos of Piggie.

Posey loves her log!
15 November 2022

Our 8yo Vizsla loves her log with squirrels! It’s a plushy item so she’s starting to rip it up after a few weeks of play. But better than tearing up the kids’ studies like she normally does. She was excited to get this item, the squirrels hidden inside are a good size and I’m not worried about choking (but might with a bigger dog). So far no stuffing has come out but she’s getting into the log seams. 2 weeks in and still enjoying! Would buy another version of this in the future.

Soft Well Made 6 Squeaky Squirrels in Tree Stump
8 April 2020

So my little 10 lb. mixed rescue dog received a large gift and seemed to know it was for her even before I got it out of the box. She was normally given smaller stuffed toys that she would rip apart within minutes getting the stuffing all over the house. This one was almost as tall as her - a large hollow stuffed tree stump with holes that you put the squeaky squirrels into. So I stuffed the squirrels inside and gave it to her. Nothing. She looked up at me like I had something else for her to play with. I took them all out and squeaked them so she would become engaged and play. Then I left her alone with it and she dragged it up onto the couch and started to release the squirrels one by one. This is alot more engaging a toy for her to play solo with - the rope pull was a go to when we play together - but she was happy to take out one squirrel and see what damage she can do to it. I checked the quality of the tree stump and the squirrel and they are made well - very tight construction - and really soft and plush and so far they have held up to her one on one chewing of the squirrels. Update: After having the toy around the house a few days I find it is definitely something that needs to be instigated for use - she will only play with them when tossed or takes one to bed with her at night. Maybe it's too complicated for her but it is really holding up to her chewing.

The cats actually love it more....
21 July 2020

I received this as a product to test, and it hasn't disappointed- the many chipmunks are well-sewn, and each has a squeaker in it, which thrills the dog no end! But our ol' pupper's eyesight isn't as good as it used to be, so hunt-and-seek just isn't his thing, these days. He'll gladly run around with a chipmunk or two in his mouth, play keepaway, etc., but isn't interested in "finding" them in the log. But you know who is? The kitten that we adopted! So, this well-made toy is getting plenty of use, log and all, just probably not the way that the designers imagined. This is probably better for a terrier-type breed, something that LIVES to hunt things that are smaller- our Catahoula is a big fella, and likely could actually swallow one of the chipmunks if he had a ... MoreI received this as a product to test, and it hasn't disappointed- the many chipmunks are well-sewn, and each has a squeaker in it, which thrills the dog no end! But, our cats love this, too, so it's working out beautifully for all. I would definitely recommend this to folks with dachshunds, small terriers, etc., OR playful cats that like a challenge. It really does seem to be quite sturdy, the sewing is solid, and the squeakers seem to take a beating with no ill effects. Two thumbs up!

This toy is a HIT at our house.
21 July 2020

Both my little one and my big one love to chase squirrels in the yard, now they get to play with them in the house. My little one is the one who plays with this the most, she loves it. Her brother plays with it when she isn’t watching. The tree is made well and it stands up pretty good all on its own. The bottom is reinforced with a thin but more rigid material. All six squirrels fit inside with no problems. I put them in with a tail or a nose poking out to encourage the hunt. Each squirrel has a squeaker and they all work. The material is nice and they are very well made. I figure they will play with it for a long time. Fortunately they are both very good about not destroying their toys. Everything is made very well, so I don’t expect there will be any issues. How can you beat digging in for a squirrel and finding a whole family of them? Measurements: The base of the tree is approximately 7 inches and it is right around 13 inches tall. The squirrels range from 6 inches to 7 inches from the tip if the nose to the tip of the tail.

great new challenging toy
9 February 2023

this is a fantastic toy that really challenges my guy to pull all of the squirrels out of the holes, then proceed to try to "****" them. They are amazingly durable, and I'm going to order another entire set in large this time, plus a refill package of squirrels. This one is definitely a winner for my beagle who usually destroys new toys quickly. This one has a challenge built in, which makes it more time consuming!
