Not had Ovaltine for many years. Now has a vile burnt taste - and nothing else, Threw the drink down the drain and the jar into the bin. Bon Appetit.

Switched to this after seeing its higher rating compared with Horlicks. Even made with whole milk, this is a thin, rancid concoction that tastes nothing like the rich, malted drink it claims to be. One sip and I'm done. It's disgusting.

I absolutely love my mug of Ovaltine before I go to bed . I first had it when I was in hospital as little girl ever since then it's been my favourite bedtime drink .

I only tend to drink hot drinks in the winter & as I am not a tea of coffee drinker this is a delicious alternative to having hot chocolate. I have to admit that I don't ever put 5 teaspoons in as directed and find 3 more than enough.
I was an Ovaltiney - yes I am that old! This is not Ovaltine as I know it. Won't buy again. Only tried it because Horlicks has Palm Oil in it now. Much prefer it. Please remove the Palm Oil so I can drink a proper malt drink.
Not as nice as Asda Instant malt drink or Horlicks when they are made with milkI bought all three so I could compare them - Ovaltine, Horlicks, Asda Instant malt drink.I like the taste of malted barley.Whilst Ovaltine has more than double the amount of malted barley than either of these, Ovaltine includes cocoa and its taste overwhelms the nice malted barley taste so I can't be bothered with it.I found that Asda Instant malt drink, when made with milk, was as nice as Horlicks. I prefer them both to Ovaltine.Asda Instant malt drink, including its milk, costs 28p a mug.Horlicks, including its milk, costs 33p a mug.Ovaltime, including its milk, costs 39p a mug.
So easy to make and enjoy. We have been enjoying ovaltine original add milk for the last 58 years. It must be good.
I love bed time with a steaming mug of Ovaltine. Cosy, comfort, nostalgia.
love this, always have! Not only is it tasty you get a boost of vitamins with your hug in a mug. Haven't tried the water version as i always think the added calcium and vitamin D from the milk is good for me.
I bought the light one last time which is to add to water and loved it so much I wished I had bought two.. This shop I didnt look properly and selected this one but got the two I wished I got of the light one and what a mistake I made! Such a disappointment I found out the hard way.. I added it to the boiled water as usual and noticed I bought the wrong thing instantly!! Was thin and tasteless and decided to keep it and not waste but then I just didnt drink it! Woke up this morning thinking I would do it as per instructions and make it up with milk but honestly it made absolutely no difference! I guess it was slightly creamier because of the milk but literally that was all! It was still tasteless and almost as thin I dont know what the big difference is in ... MoreI bought the light one last time which is to add to water and loved it so much I wished I had bought two.. Added chocolate and nope!
