Perfect result every time with any kind of roast. I like the easily visible screen, and the spike cover is printed with a handy list of temperature guides for all types of roasting.

It is a basic, good thermometer. works well, particularly useful when I'm annoyed at the digital leave in with outside temp read. I really wished for one that had a bit smaller face. This one does not fit in the drawer.

Purchased this meat thermometer to replace our old one we had for 19 years and it is working great. I highly recommend this model. It has markings that indicate how deep into the meat you place it to get an accurate read, the dial is easy to read, and the thermometer cover has all the proper temperatures for any particular cut of meat or poultry. You cannot leave this type of thermometer in your meat while it is cooking, and the instructions wisely remind you NOT to submerge the temperature dial under water ( that is how our old thermometer met its demise).

This thermometer is great if left in a large roast. When trying to get the temperature of a smaller steak, cut of chicken or fish the weight of the thermometer is too heavy to stand up.
This meat thermometer does not tell the accurate temperature. I have tried it on multiple pieces of meat and it always says they are not to temp. Although I can clearly see that it’s done & my digital thermometer says it’s done. Only cool thing about this thermometer is the fact that the cover tells you what temp everything should be.
I can’t read the small print on the thermometre. My eyesight is excellent but the print is so small, I have to open oven door and pull pan out somewhat to read it. I wish I could exchange it for another more readable thermometer.
I gave this thermometer only 3 stars but still wanted to recommend it for both its merit and fault. Merit: it Is good for what it is meant for, quick in telling temperature of a big chunk of meat, by "big" I mean that it has to be almost 3" either in longth or width. Fault: it is almost useless for anything else, because you are supposed to insert the whole almost 3" long grey area on the probe into the object that you want to take temperature for, anything that is smaller therefore does not allow inserting the whole length will not do. I took pains to find out these things because I have little confidence in digital thermometers and really wanted this thermometer to work. I took pains to find out these things because I have little confidence in digital thermometers and really wanted this thermometer to work. I put it into boiling water to test its accuracy the first thing after receiving it. But it reached 180f and refused to go to 210f, which is the right temperature. Then I read the manual and realized that it was accurately reading the average temperature of boiling water and the cooler air on top of the water. I would recommend this product to those who need an analogue thermometer only for big chunk of meat. I had to retuned it, for I usually cook smaller portions.
This thermometer would be good for someone who makes huge roasts or turkeys, etc. You insert it about 3 inches. It is very easy to read. I’m returning it because we need a smaller one.
Wanting to ensure my meat & fish are cooked thoroughly, I purchased this & it iworks great! I have other temp probes but they do not perform as well as this one. I even bought one to put in my out of town friend’s Christmas box & she loves it too!
Never had a meat thermometer. Purchased approximately 1 month ago to use for an oven baked/broiled ribeye steak. I wanted one that could stay in the oven while steak was broiling as I like my steaks medium rare.OXO came to the rescue. Worked liked a charm!I love OXO products.
