I ordered this colander two years ago because my daughter asked for one for Christmas. I'm so glad I got one for myself also! It is strong, and does the job or which it is intended. It has a large capacity for big jobs. The non slip handles are a must when working with wet hands. Clean up is easy.
Oxo Good Grips has never disappointed. Got this for use in an RV where space is limited and sink is small. It fit perfectly.Construction is study. Vents to allow water through are a good draining size and the feet lift the colander sufficiently off the surface. Dishwasher safe made it an ideal choice.

I recently purchased this colander to replace an over-the-sink mesh strainer that was such a pain to clean (it was a registry gift). It is fantastic! My husband really wanted the over-the-sink strainer because he doesn't like when the food can touch the sink and he loves angel hair pasta and most colanders can't drain that without losing a bunch. This colander is fantastic. It's sturdy, I love the feet to keep it elevated, the silicone handles don't get hot from steam and make it easy to shake excess water off, and the slots let very little angel hair fall through. It is also really easy to clean. We have a bottle brush that works well to clean the slots if anything gets dried on. Great product!
This is replacement for one we bought maybe 8 years ago. We cook a lot and use it all the time. Do not hesitate to purchase this. Alton Brown on his show Good Eats uses it as well!
I am extremely hard on my kitchen stuff. I cook everyday, and I go through a ton of stuff because It isn't of good quality. I trust and adore OXO, I have all kinds of things from them. So when I say this is a GREAT everyday, basic colander, I mean it.The handles are covered in the silicone as OXO is known for, they are hard and sturdy.The whole item is very durable, and sturdy.The holes I feel could either be a tad bigger, but they do not cut down on the draining aspect of it. It has feet on the bottom of the colander making it easy to sit and not go everywhere.I am very pleased with my purchase, and I would buy this item again!
