A little big for what I need but it works great. I leave it in the ice tray/drawer in my freezer. The material stays pliable and does not get brittle at freezer temps, the handle is comfortable (unlike metal scoops - which the handle freezes your hand), and it's stiff enough to break-up some ice cubes stuck together. While it won't chip thru an ice BLOCK like a metal scoop might, but the soft materials also won't hack up the inside of my freezer. Now even when my kids don't listen and wash their hands before grabbing ice, they only grab the scoop!

Super nice and reasonably priced! The scoop itself is made of a pliable plastic, presumably silicone. Even in the freezer, it remains pliable The handle is a slightly harder plastic and fits your hand nicely. Surprisingly, though, it holds about a cup, which is unusual as most of the metal scoops we checked out had to be much longer to hold even 4oz. And it won't stick to our hands like a frozen metal scoop would! This one is 8" long (or slightly less) and fits in our ice bin perfectly. Very pleased with it, so we bought another! Another good kitchen tool designed by OXO. They make good stuff and stand behind it.

I bought a new fridge with bottom drawer freezer and I wanted an ice scooper to keep in my ice box and this is perfect. It's big enough to grab enough ice but not too big to take too much space in the box, it's not metal so it's not cold when grabbing it, it's a great design for scooping many things. I use if for ice but I'm sure it will be great for flour, rice, candy, coffee, spices that you need from a bog bag or a large container. I would highly recommend it. I like it so much I purchased one for a family member who recently bought a new fridge similar to mine and she loves it too.
