This is an awesome scale - I use it nearly every time I bake. I love how I can measure things quickly and accurately with this. It’s relatively small - 9.75 inches L x 7 inches W x 1 inch tall. The pull out display is so helpful when measuring things in a big pot that would cover the monitor in its normal attached setting. I love how it converts in oz, lb, g, kg. What I love the most is when I’m wanting to measure something in a cup without it going everywhere. All you have to do is put the cup or bowl on the scale, press the Power/Zero button and the scale goes to zero so you can accurately measure whatever you need to measure inside the cup or bowl! Highly recommend!!!

Excellent Step up in the product line. Winner, Winner, just a Winner!

I have used several different OXO Good Grips scales. They have all been good. This scale at 11lbs and with more features is a champion. Very quick reacting, has a nice large workk surface area so that I rarely need to poll the screen into a forward position. The fact that it can "sleep" and then recall the last amount weighed is a great help. Also, the auto shut off feature is not too quick (you can always turn it off at any time you want to). All in all this scale works fits my needa very well. I still have the other OXO Good Grips digital scales in use also for lighter weight chores. The lagger size of the 11lb stainless steel scale is an advantage and like the other scales the work surface removes for cleaning if necessary.

Excellent scales!

Not surprising that these scales top all of the product reviews. They're well designed (love the pull-out display and holding the tare for up to 15 mins), also they're rapid, stable and accurate. Just to clarify a small point: some reviewers complain that these scales only only offer a conversion to lb/oz and not ml. Scales can't measure volume, only weight! The ones that do offer a ml. measurement assume you're adding a liquid with specific gravity close to 1.0 (water, milk, etc) and give the same reading as grams. Other denser or lighter liquids will not be measured accurately. Eg, 100ml of cooking oil weighs about 90g.

Good quality - easy to use.

Well, you get what you pay for. Not the cheapest, but sturdy, neat, lightweight, looks the money. Four 'normal' batteries (supplied) not the fiddly disc things that no shop has when you need one, and easy to open battery compartment. Controls simple to use, figures clear and easy to read. Pull out control panel is a great idea for the occasional times when you have a large container.One point - downside for some maybe - it has weight but fluid units. For me that is no problem because for practical purposes 1ml of most liquids = 1g and although I had that facility on my old (broken) scales I never used it.Overall a good purchase, and I recommend it.

Good scale, nice features

I've had my eye on this scale with its pull out face for a while, so it was an easy choice when my 20 year old digital kitchen scale went irreparably awry. The other features (tare weight, choice of pounds or kilograms) are pretty common. It's larger and takes up a little more counter space than my old scale. Clean lines, attractive, the stainless is pretty neutral. Only rated 4 stars because the stainless weighing platform is highly polished, and already acquired 2 small scratches just from the clean glass jars I used to test it out. Brushed stainless wouldn't look quite as fancy, but would be a better choice by the manufacturer, IMO. Clearly, this is quickly going to get scratched up through use. Great choice for a kitchen scale

There are less expensive scales for your kitchen available, but I doubt there are any better than this one! It is extremely user friendly as well as easy to clean/sanitize. Secondly the low overall height of the scale means you can slide it into the shallowest of drawers or storage spaces. The stainless steel weigh pan is removable and easily cleaned and if something is spilled on the control panel, it can be readily cleaned with a damp paper towel or cloth. Battery-powered, this can be moved around your kitchen to whichever area or spot you need to work in. BB&Y had this in stock as well as an excellent percent-off coupon to further reduce an already good price. Auto-shutoff as well as 5 minute display rest mean the batteries will last a long time. A must have for any diligent home cook.

Great stainless steel digital scale,very satisfied

Like it thus far, only have had it for a month and not used it much. I did test the accuracy and seems to be fine. I love the stainless steel, easy to clean , lighter than glass ones and I don’t have to worry about the glass, accidentally falling out of my hands and cracking. The pull out feature is pretty cool. You don’t have to pull it out if you don’t want to but if you do have a larger bowl to measure, I do see that that would be useful easy to read digital numbers and offers pounds or kilos and ounces. A little more than I wanted to spend but I am confident in the OXO grips brand and hope this will last for a few years.

New vs old...

I've had the earlier model of this scale for 11+ years; it still works great but thought I'd try the newer version. It works very well but I think I prefer the readout of the older model which measures ozs/lbs in fractions (1/8, 1/4, 1/2 etc) whereas this model measures totally digital (ex: 1 1/8 lb would read 1.2 lb). It does not do tenths of grams, only whole numbers which isn't a big deal unless you're trying to cut a recipe in half or thirds. The newer one is improved in that it stays on longer. Overall it's a great scale.

Saved me from some terrible scales. Work perfectly

Wonderful. During lockdown my scales died and the only ones I could find were some ritzy expensive ones and they are hopeless! Won't measure in less then 5m increments? Really no use to me when I need to add 18g of salt to the sourdough. Well, I can eventually get it to measure 18g by putting in too much and taking it out! Weird. Anyway, a friend recommended these. They came up on a KD email and so I bought them. Wonderful. Exactly what I need. For the big bowls that I make the sourdough in I can pull the display out, but generally it stays where it is. AND IT MEASURES IN ONE G INCREMENTS.

Straightforward "honest" Scales

These are sturdy, straightforward-to-use scales, that do an honest job. Easy-to-read display which "holds" the recorded weight, giving plenty of time to add further ingredients. The pull-out facility is a bit weird though, hence my 4-star review. It's not the drawer that I was expecting but a loose dangly thing which is quite difficult to slot back into place afterwards, unless the scales are held upside-down! I've found it more convenient to weigh in small bowls, so that the large easy-to-read measurement can be readily seen. Bought these as a replacement for Salter scales bought from JL last week, which I returned as the measurements were all over the place and the scales conked out after only a few seconds.
