OXO Good Grips Herb & Kitchen Scissors

OXO Good Grips kitchen & herb scissors are a kitchen drawer staple. Use them to finely ‘chop’ herbs, cut kitchen twine, vegetables and even meat. The two holes above the handles are herb strippers – use to strip leaves off the stems of hardier herbs like rosemary and thyme. The inner parts of the handles have soft cushions that absorb pressure when cutting. The blades have micro-serrations to help grip even wet items. Use both hands to open the scissors as far as they’ll go – the two halves will come apart for easy cleaning and drying. OXO was founded on the philosophy of Universal Design, which means the design of products that are usable by as many people as possible. The company has been recognised globally as an example of how a well-executed Universal Design philosophy creates products that are beneficial to end users. OXO study people of all ages, abilities and from all walks of life interacting with products and identify opportunities for meaningful improvement. Their thoughtful, “question everything” process and relentless attention to detail uncovers the best solutions for life’s everyday tasks. Hand wash only.

"Buy the best and cry only once" - these are the best kitchen shears that I've ever used

This is a really nice pair of kitchen shears that will cut through even punishment food (kale) stems. They of course disassemble for cleaning and go through the dishwasher like a champ. They fit nicely in my large man hands (XL sized gloves) which I greatly appreciate because I love to cook.

Best scissors ever! Stay sharp forever!

These scissors are so strong and can manage chicken bones with ease. This is my second pair but for some reason the new pair (which are identical in make and size) will not attach to the older pair? Stay sharp and wash without tarnishing in the dishwasher. I would highly recommend them.

Excellent scissors

I am delighted with my purchase. The scissors are strong and good to use. Washing them is easy because they come apart, which is very useful. I ordered the scissors when there was free delivery and this was the only item I ordered. However, they were sent in a large box which would have held twenty or more pairs. Surely they could have been wrapped in bubble wrap and sent in an envelope.

Fell apart
27 March 2023

I bought these for the Good Grips brand - couldn't try them as they were in a locked cupboard in store and there was nothing obvious to say they came apart (and it's not mentioned on the web description). It'd be a good idea if they only pcame apart when you wanted to clean, but mine came apart when I wanted to cut flower stems. Without a locking mechanism they separate all too easily and one half fell in the floor rather too near my foot. I just assumed they were faulty and was amazed to be told it was a feature! I clean my scissors in the dishwasher which works fine without separating them into two blades.

First rate kitchen scissors
19 January 2020

We had a pair of supermarket branded scissors which were beginning to cause more irritation than satisfaction. I saw these GoodGrips in our local John Lewis and Partners store and decided to give them a go. One of the things that my wife had said would be useful to have would be a herb-stripper for our home grown thyme and rosemary. Lo and behold, these scissors have two different sized notches just for that purpose. These work really well on all but the thinnest twigs which just pull straight through the notch. That is a very minor issue. Otherwise this ambidextrous design (we have a right hander and a left hander sharing them!) is comfortable to use and very sharp. The two sides actually separate for washing. which caused some consternation the first time it ... MoreWe had a pair of supermarket branded scissors which were beginning to cause more irritation than satisfaction. Good, useful kitchen scissors
19 August 2023

Sturdy scissors that seem able to tackle everything required in the kitchen so far. They're able to strip herbs from their stalks but I haven't tried that yet. They come apart for washing really easily, which I found a bit odd at first, but now think is a great idea as you can be sure you've got them clean. And they clip back together easily too. My only criticism is that are big and quite bulky. I have small hands but a smaller size wasn't available. Sill fine to use though. Early days but they certainly look built to last!

Great Scissors
1 June 2024

These are lovely sharp scissors. Being able to separate the blades for cleaning is wonderful, you know they are getting a good clean in the dishwasher. They are comfy to use and great for left & right handed people.I have banned anyone from taking them out of the kitchen so hope they never disappear.

Great kitchen scissors

Great kitchen scissors. Good cutting motion. Easily used with my arthritic hands which is a big plus for me. I haven't used them for stripping herbs yet but assume they will strip fresh thyme in a jiffy. Essentially you can put these in a dishwasher. Very pleased with purchase and would recommend.

Strong, quality product
15 November 2024

I bought these kitchen scissors for my daughter. I recently stayed with her and was totally frustrated with the cheap and nasty scissors she had.She is over the moon with the OXO scissors. Makes preparing food and other kitchen tasks a pleasure. A little expensive perhaps but worth paying the extra.

WOW - what a difference!
5 June 2024

Having spent years with cheap kitchen scissors I decided to go up market for my next pair - and WOW, what a difference!Comfortable, easy to use and clean, and can tackle anything in the kitchen from opening packaging (plastic bags to thick carsboard boxes) to preparing vegetables (such as cutting peppers into strips).Should have bought this years ago, it would have saved me time and effort struggling with inadequate kitchen scissors.
