For fun and easy salad preparation, try this salad spinner. Simply press the soft, non-slip knob to start the basket spinning. Easy, one-handed operation makes this spinner a pleasure to use and a built-in brake stops the salad spinner so you can unload it. A non-slip ring keeps the bowl steady on the countertop and the elegant clear bowl is ideal for serving or use the basket separately for rinsing berries. The lid disassembles for easy cleaning and the knob locks down for compact storage.

Sundays are for meal prep in our home and produce alone usually takes around 3 hours. Not anymoreeeee. I love that I can vinegar soak, baking soda fizzle, rinse AND dry (ish) all in the same bowl. Everyone (6, 1 and 30) enjoys pressing the spin but I personally enjoy the break button. I do wish I got a smaller size. She’s a 10 but she’s thicker than a snicker. Gonna need some decent storage space for this one.

The OXO Good Grips Salad Spinner I'm a big fan of.It shipped well with zero . I appreciate the packaging to get rid of was minimal. It emitted no weird odors or alarming chemical like smells. It is generous in size (Bowl capacity is 6.22 qt/5.89 L; basket capacity is 4.95 qt/4.68 L) I can hold a full head of lettuce with room to spare. It has three parts which are the main outer bowl, the inner spinning basket/colander, and the upper lid.The bottom bowl is crystal clear. There are no scratches or distortion to speak of. I like I can use this bowl not just to contain water from what I've dried off but as a serving bowl for salad during our meals. The spinner mechanism with non-slip knob with built in break is so easy to use. I have had other spinning bowls ... MoreThe OXO Good Grips Salad Spinner I'm a big fan of.It shipped well with zero . I appreciate the packaging to get rid of was minimal. I have had other spinning bowls before in which you would crank. This plunge/push down style of this is far preferred. I never have aching hands or arms in using this. It is so easy that even my younger children can help out with it.It doesn't take up a ton of space in my cabinets. I like you can lock the knob in place so it's not up but down instead.I have washed this by hand and in the dishwasher. It is holding up well with no spots or other signs of wear.I am very pleased with the quality and ease of use and highly recommend this product.

I have the larger (approximately 10" diameter) OXO Salad Spinner, and like it a lot, but the capacity is much bigger than we need for most meals, and it takes up a lot of room in the kitchen to store. The 8" diameter of the OXO LIttle Salad Spinner may not seem much smaller, but it really makes a difference: plenty of room for salad stuff for 1 or 2 people, and stores easily, nested in some of our other cooking pots. These salad spinners feel well made, are easy to operate, and come apart easily for cleaning. One press of the button is all it takes. I like the spinner brake, and that the button 'locks down' for storage. No ropes or strings to get wet or break.Salad spinners are really handy for cleaning and drying leafy foods: lettuce, spinach, etc., but also ... MoreI have the larger (approximately 10" diameter) OXO Salad Spinner, and like it a lot, but the capacity is much bigger than we need for most meals, and it takes up a lot of room in the kitchen to store. Just got it and read the cleaning instructions printed on the product's container. No way was I able to remove the portion that needed to be removed for cleaning. So I found a video online and the user, who liked the product very much, showed how to disassemble for cleaning: He used a screwdriver! I wish I had seen the video before purchasing. Assuming that most other people have figured out how to clean the product appropriately, I'll just say 'buy it but watch the video first.'
I have had and used my OXO Salad Spinner for years, and when my son-in-law asked me about it I decided to get one for them too. We eat a lot of salads in our family and I like to wash even the "triple washed" lettuces.I like the size of this spinner. It holds enough to be able to make a good sized family salad in one take. That's a time saver.I like the mechanism for activating the spinning. With the top - down pushing action, combined with the non-skid feet, when you spin the lettuce you're holding the product in place. I had another brand in the past that was very much a 2-handed job - one hand to turn a spinning handle and the other arm to hold the spinner in place. It doesn't sound like a big issue, but this is just a better design. I had another brand in the past that was very much a 2-handed job - one hand to turn a spinning handle and the other arm to hold the spinner in place. It doesn't sound like a big issue, but this is just a better design. It's more ergonomically designed for function. And the little brake to stop the spinning? Another inspired idea to solve a problem I didn't even know I had! It saves a few seconds of waiting, but I could be doing something with that extra time. It's also convenient to be able to take the spinning bowl out and use it as a colander for other veggies once the lettuce has been spun dry. Why dirty another colander when this one does the job perfectly well? Finally, I like that I can disassemble the lid for thorough cleaning. I don't like the idea of dampness harboring bacteria in my food prep tools, and with the OXO design, this is never a concern.
I've have a salad spinner from another brand before. I always felt like I could take it or leave it. The OXO feels completely different on my hands. First of all, it's big enough to make a family salad; in not saying it's for a huge family but if you have 4 or so in the house, you won't be running batches. Another thing that struck me right away was the sturdy strainer. It is really quite strong and you could easily use this for your daily vegetable wash. The package isn't really clear on why the 4.0 is different from the models before it but I can say there are a lot of smart things going here. The lid comes apart, and without a dozen pieces to worry about. Pull, wash, dry, clock back into place. The colander insert is designed well for this. The herbs don't end up hanging out of it. Sure, some went through when I washed dill, but that's bound to happen. You can always put herbs in a reusable mesh bag before spinning. That will hold everything together but still let the water spin away.
4 1/2 stars for the OXO spinner. It's quiet and will spin fast on its own after you stop pumping. Occasionally it slows soon after a pump but repositioning the salad helps. Easy to clean. If you're going to wash the salad anyway, might as well do it as far in advance as possible, leave it in a colander/let dry/come back to it later. Now when you go to use the spinner its already partially dry. No reason to wet the salad then try to spin it right away (unless you have no spare time at all). This applies to any spinner, actually.
The OXO Salad Spinner has quickly become an essential part of my daily meal prep, saving not only time but ensuring I no longer have soggy salad! I like to have a salad every day either for lunch or as part of my dinner. I usually purchase salad in a bag that has lettuce, carrots, and red cabbage. Even though the bag says it’s pre-washed, I prefer to wash it again to make sure that it’s clean and free from any dirt or who knows what! Before, I got the salad spinner, I would put half the bag of salad into a colander and keep running it under water. Then dump the salad into a bowl and add the dressing. It was a constant battle to try and get out as much water as I could it, inevitably there was always excess water clinging to the salad. It was a constant battle to try and get out as much water as I could it, inevitably there was always excess water clinging to the salad. To make matters worse, the holes in the colander are so wide that some of carrots and cabbage would slip through and end up in my sink! So, I just started using the OXO Salad Spinner and I cannot believe how much better my salad tastes because it’s now free from excess water. As an added bonus, because the strainer basket has narrow slits to let the water pass through, I no longer lose bits and pieces of carrots and cabbage in the sink! It works great washing my grapes and strawberries too! I just do a few simple pushes of the easy grip pump, to quickly spin the water away, and the built in “brake” is a cool feature as well! Luckily, the plastic bowl has a non-skid surface so it doesn’t go flying off of the counter! That would not be a pretty sight!
Bought this small salad spinner a month ago, and now use it almost daily after being disabused of my belief that "triple pre-washed" lettuces and veggies were ready to eat straight from the bag. (The downside of dating a microbiologist!) Experts say all pre-washed greens and vegetables should be washed again before use, so having decided to follow that advice, I wanted a more compact spinner that I'd be more likely to use regularly.I first put the greens in the basket and fill the bowl with water and a small dash of white vinegar. (At the risk of seeming like a nerd, I'll share that a Japanese study found vinegar effective in killing food-borne pathogenic bacteria, including E. coli and salmonella. (At the risk of seeming like a nerd, I'll share that a Japanese study found vinegar effective in killing food-borne pathogenic bacteria, including E. coli and salmonella. And adding a dash of salt to the vinegar water supposedly makes an even more effective combination). After a 10-minute soak (the small amount of vinegar will not "pickle" the greens), I rinse the greens and start spinning. While I've never found any salad spinner that gets rid of moisture as thoroughly as I'd like, this one does a good enough job. After spinning, I flatten the lid and put the entire spinner in the fridge to chill the greens. Now my greens are clean and free of most pathogens, and they're much perkier and crisp than pre-washed veggies served straight from the bag. The little bit of effort is well worth the results, and any leftover greens be stored in the spinner and will keep fresh and crisp in the fridge for another 2-3 days. There were no instructions in the box, so it took a moment to realize that when flattening the pusher so it's flush with the top of the lid, it needs to be turned instead of pushed down. The entire spinner is easy to clean, but I found that the lid requires drying overnight, as some water gets trapped in the grooves inside the lid.
We used this OXO Good Grips Salad Spinner to mix our homemade salad with salad dressing. First thing that I noticed about this salad spinner is the size. I really liked how big the bowl is. It is perfect for serving multiple people as well as storing the leftovers when there are only a few people eating. A colander basket also comes with this salad spinner which allows to rinse veggies separately. The lid has a one handed pump that when pressed down, allows the colander to spin. There is also a patented brake that when pressed down, stops the spinning. The storage lock allows the one handed pump to be pushed down into the colander/bowl for easy storage. In other simple words, add your ingredients, place the lid back and press the pump. The whole spinner is also lightweight and easy to carry, just be careful with the bowl and lid as they’re made of plastic material. It is also dishwasher safe. It’s like a two in one product as leafy greens can be washed in the colander and the whole product used as a mixer. It’s a must have for any veggies and salad users.
