Ozito 100A Gasless Inverter MIG Welder Kit

This Gasless Inverter MIG Welder is perfect for creating clean welds on thick or thin materials. IGBT inverter technology eliminates power fluctuations and provides a stable output current. This makes it suitable for a wide range of applications such as trailers, gates, steel sections, car panels and general fabrication. Flux-cored (gasless) wire protects the welds without the need for additional gases. The carrying strap and absence of a gas cylinder allows you to easily move the welder around your home or garage. Get started right out of the box with the included 0.2kg welding wire spool, hand-held welding mask and wire brush / chipping hammer.

Best buy in it's class!

There aren't a ton of welders available for $199, and of those that are available, this Ozito was the only one I could find that had both Feed Rate and Voltage dials that could be fine tuned with the default alternative being a Feed Rate dial and either High or Low voltage setting (eg. Cigweld 100A kit). This Ozito kit includes everything you need to get started except a pair of welding gloves and I'll admit that both the "wire brush" and "mask' that's included leaves a lot to be desired but those are easily replaced later on if needed. But let's focus on the main attraction! Now I have done my fair share of stick welding (AC and inverter) as well as a bit of normal solid strand / argon MIG welding, but I haven't welded in years. Being completely new to gasless inverter MIG welders I watched a couple of gasless how-to videos on YouTube, set the welder up according to my newfound knowledge and laid down a perfect bead on my first go. Its dead simple. And with a 3 year replacement warranty, this little welder can't be beat! Absolute legend!

Best cheap welder ever.

Most gasless migs overheat with constant use. I've welded guttering with this welder up to 12mm plate. It's adjust range is brilliant.

Compact, easy to use for beginners

I've only ever used a mig twice before and even I managed by my standards a decent weld for my third time ever and first time on this mig, honestly if you're a good welder you could use this and do near perfect welds, minimal splatter and easy setup and adjustments. Disappointed

I'm disappointed with this model, I had 1 of the older ones that I used and abused for just over 3 years ,this model I'm onto the 4th one .There's next to no adjustment with its controls!

Excellent product. Faultless performance

Worked perfectly for welding thin tubing. Especially suited to tacking anything. Earth clamp adequate. Shield supplied very basis a Self adjusting helmet a recommended additional purchase. No trouble in set up and changing spools relatively easy.

Great little budged welder...just hang it on your sholder and you can weld anywhere...it is not heavy and easy to go around the workshop or yard to go and fix things.

Great little gasless mig welder. Purchased 2 mth. ago and used once to weld two pipes together as a try out. So far so good, working perfect as long set up is adjusted correctly. Next task will be a stainless steel with 316 welding wire. Highly reccomended, well done Ozito.

Not a bad little gasless MIG for the price.

I purchased this to go alongside a Unimig Viper Stick welder in August 22, in order to be able to work with thinner guages of metal that my stick welder is not suited to. At the time I was looking at a Unimig Viper 120, however based on the reviews I read regarding this unit I decided to give it a go, and have been very surprised by it's capabilities for $199. It tacks 0.6mm mild steel sheet without burn through (recommend using 0.8mm gasless wire, tack for a second, stop for a few, tack again) and gave it a go on 2mm flat bar with continuous beads, although anything that thickness or thicker, I generally use the stick welder. Should be great for 1.6mm fencing tubular steel.I find that for thinner gauge metals you can set the dials to the same point on the semi-circular markings and get good results, however I found thicker welds required driving the voltage to a higher setting than the feed rate. However again as stated above, 2mm and above metals with these little units are really domain of the stick welder or a more powerful MIG unit.If you're only doing DIY/hobby/home use then don't be afraid to give this unit a go. Just make sure you do the following when you buy it, since these are the reason for the 4/5 rating and not a 5/5:(1) Pick up an auto darkening welding helmet and some decent gloves, both are worth their. weight in gold. The one packaged with the Ozito is useless. Also get a P2 respirator/mask as the fumes from Gasless wire aren't great for your lungs unless you're doing all your work outdoors. Really for a welding kit, these should be included.(2) IF you're not too fussed about the warranty, unbolt and ditch the crap ground clamp (worse than the clamp on a pair of jumper leads) and buy a Bossweld 200amp ground clamp (also from Bunnings) and bolt that on. This yields a dramatic difference when starting the arc at lower power settings due to more surface area/copper to conduct current and therefore less resistance to current flow.Well worth the price for home/DIY use at this price, particularly if you end up finding that welding isn't your thing, OR you find you love welding and inevitably upgrade to a larger unit :-)

So simple to use
13 March 2023

I bought this last week and opened the box today. For an extreme novice I found this unit very easy to set up and was ready to go in minutes. My first ever welds were terrible so no pics of them. This as no fault of the machine just my pure lack of experience.I did find that by near the end of my job the welds looked somewhat better than the start.Once again cleaned the welds up and grinder the excess build up I was pretty happy as it is doing what I need it to do.I added the plates to the underside of my trolley to be utilised as an additional storage space for my music stands when lugging my gear to and from gigs.I pulled at them pretty hard after the job was done and I am happy with the strength. Need to give it a lick of paint to complete the look.I ... MoreI bought this last week and opened the box today. Based on those reviews I opted to purchase a better helmet and some gloves. This one s a product I will be wearing laying with more and more as the ideas I have are starting to flood in.I recommend this for the novice and the diy’er.

Brought this for a small project, and am pleased with how it performs. The included accessories are largely useless, and I would recommend buying an auto-darkening helmet along with the welder. The only issue I have had is that the voltage and feed controls are not labelled (they are just "less" or "more"), so you cannot set up the welder according to a chart and have to instead do a few test pieces and refine it from there. That said, the fact that you can get an inverter welder for 200 dollars is outstanding. The machine is compact and lightweight, and powerful enough to weld 5mm steel bar without maxing out the voltage. The arc is smooth and easy to control. I have not used flux-core wire before, and after a few test pieces it was going fine.
