Eventually realising that timber held against the opposite fence or resting a length across both ends of the fence resulted in the cuts which were off. I tried main times to set the fence, even after it seemed calibrated I'd realise that it wasn't. The adjusting screws were locked in and found that a test cut would seem fine. I was then surprised and frustrated intermittently with out of square cuts. Eventually realising that timber held against the opposite fence or resting a length across both ends of the fence resulted in the cuts which were off. I made the assumption that both sides of the fence would be parallel. I'd square up one side, the other and back, over and over again, it seemed impossible. I wondered if something was moving, considered whether vague detents added to screw clamp in the fence was unable to stop the movement. I tried adjusting the fence to the blade centred in the 90 degree detent, but still no luck. Eventually realising the fences weren't true, I tried bending it straight then filing it straight. After reattachment of the fence, once again, it wasn't square. There are a cumulative list of problems that add up to the flimsy weak design of the fence. It seems laughable all things considered, the reliance of the fence to set the rotation of the base places twisting tension. Added to provision on both sides for inserting hold down clamps against the fence. The strength of the fence both horizontally and twisting are compromised. The fence is attached by only one screw for each side. The walls are too thin, the underbelly is terribly hollowed / gutted out. That 'nifty' sliding section weakens the fence right where support is necessary, being suspended far into the span and opposite the round yoke sticking out with twisting force as well. The safety shield being loose is trivial and an easy fix. Observe the newer design for the cordless saw and note the different table clamp. If you happen to find that your fence is true and not slightly bent or twisted like a banana I guess it's possible that your lucky. In any case, it's inevitable that the fence will eventually bend out of alignment in use. I wouldn't recommend dealing with this headache even if you are a beginner. Unless you aren't motivated by durability or don't consider reliable accuracy as important factors for you.

Excellent value or money.

Unfortunately I discovered during assembly that the arbor on the saw was 30mm, but the diablo has 25mm (with reduction rings also). I returned to Bunnings the very next day with the unopened blade, and spoke to the toolshop guy who sold me the stuff. He was very confused also, and assumed that this Ozito saw was of similar construction to the other 210 mitre saw. Alas no. Please speak with Ozito and get the adaptor flange CHANGED and made to the 25mm standard. As it turns out, you can fit a Dewalt blade in the machine which was made for their cordless range, but that is the ONLY other blade that will fit.Despite this, I have already made a workbench stool/step which only took about 90 minutes thanks to the speed and precision of this machine. I am loving how fast and accurate I can get timber cut now, thanks Ozito. (now, fix the arbor size before I dull the blade!)

This saw out of the box is great for someone that needs 2x4-grade accuracy and a way to quickly cut things to length. I would NOT recommend it for people looking to get highly accurate mitres without fine-tuning the tool for each different cut. This tool can be set up to provide a lot more accuracy than it does out of the box, but I don't think it will ever be a precision tool, as there is too much play in the mechanisms. That said, use a digital inclinometer to set the 90 degree upright stop, and use a digital angle finder or a precision set square to set your 90 degree and 45 degree horizontal stops every time (don't rely on the inbuilt detents, they are way too sloppy for anything other than basic construction), and you can get some reasonably good results - it ... MoreThis saw out of the box is great for someone that needs 2x4-grade accuracy and a way to quickly cut things to length. I would probably recommend looking for a 254mm saw unless you know that you are only going to be doing certain jobs.Dust extraction capability is shockingly bad on its own, but so are most mitre saws - rig up a hood enclosure of some kind.

I bought this some time ago as my old saw died. I was impressed with the finish of the product but even more impressed with the performance of it. The bevel feature is easy to access and use, the sliding feature is smooth and precise. The saw is easy to use and makes very precise cuts. On my particular saw, I had to adjust the laser light slightly but this is a simple task easily done with the tools provided with the saw. It is light and easily moved from one bench to another. I found this to be a very able piece of equipment.

2 Issues1) The Laser is way off the actual Cut. Cut happens after 3 mm of the laser. Even after the cut, the laser is NOT parallel to the cut, Its at a slight angle.2) Even at 90 degrees straight cut, there is a slight angle. I had adjusted the angle by turning the nuts, however, after around 10 cuts it reverted back to being misaligned. Not a big angle, just 2-3 degree or so. However, it should at least stick to aligned value .We buy a Mitre saw as circular saw can result in inaccurate cuts, this saw is not a good substitute for Circular saw. Don't have time to always adjust it prior to cutting.Other than these two issues, the saw is good. 40 tooth blade cuts fine.If you want it for decking/ fence its a great saw. It’s ok but
23 July 2021

I bought this saw on the 6/7/21 because my old saw had become lose and didn’t keep accurate settings so I decided to get this rather then spending twice as much for a professional one.It cuts quite accurate and I love the laser guide it’s spot on. Angles are pretty accurate and straight. I love the width of the cut.My only gripe is the opening of the dust suction port behind the blade. Way too small and most of the dust just completely missed the target. The guard seems to be too short at the back so any dust just simply shoots straight past. For the price you get what you paid for. Simple low cost hobby saw. If I get 5yrs out of it then I’ve done good.

Not bad, but not good
31 December 2022

After looking at many different reviews for different mitre saws, I decided to go the cheaper side.Easy enough to take out of box and assemble (only a couple small pieces). The dust extraction with vacuum is non existent, if you can wheel your workbench outside, do it.I had a big problem with the laser that was no where near centre, so spent a lot of time to get close enough.Had to use a square to align the drop down as I found the angle markings not correct. Also there is a bit of vibration when cutting. The safety trigger is flimsy as (won't take much to break if you're not careful). It's Ozito. It's $250.What would you expect. It does the job with a bit of tinkering but I'm glad I didn't go cheaper.

Saw improvements

Exchange over due to power supply issues. The previous module had metal arm supports and higher wood guards. The saftey support was lockable where as now you can not.Dust bag could be a little larger, fills up to fast.Had to hook up a vacuum to collect dust.No 'bolts' to attach to the stand I purchased for the saw.Saw is a good machine where as would have like to purchased the 12 inch. They are only available in the US.

For the price - so far so good with this little saw. I was worried about it not being square, but even out of the box it was in a "close-enough" range. I'm sure with a fence adjustment it could be more accurate. I've only used it for 90 degree cuts so far, but the positive stops on the angle selection are a nice touch for when I start using it for mitres in the future. The stand that it comes with is very useful, albeit not the best quality (which is why I've given it 4 stars). One of the extension arms needs some pretty hefty encouragement with a rubber mallet to get it in and out, simply because either the arms is too thick, or the hollow support it sits in is too small. Either way, it still works and I just couldn't be bothered lugging the whole thing back to ... MoreFor the price - so far so good with this little saw. The rollers are nice, and being able to raise them and using the section below as stops for accurate, repeated length cuts is great. It's a small saw, but overall I'm really happy with it as my first mitre saw.

Works Well
28 June 2021

I read the reviews posted about this Mitre Saw and decided to look at one in store. The blade and motor do not give any run out so I bought it. Other reviews stated that the accuracy isn't up to it. I checked the saw all over with a set square and yes it was out a little. There is allen screws to adjust the fence and also to adjust the mount for the saw motor. Once I checked and triple checked everything it is cutting everything square and at angles properly. Very happy with my purchase. As for the person who reviewed it needing to straighten the fence with a hammer, gee, they didn't look too hard at it. For the money it is a good saw and I would buy it again. Comes with a 3 yr warranty. What more could you want?
