Purchased about 3 months ago to help me cut timbers for the fence in our back yard did okay however a couple of points which in my opinion detract. 1. When move the table to do mitre cuts thie click was vague and it resulted in cuts being out by a couple of degrees. A more solid clik in place for when you reach say 30 or 45 degree angles would be great. 2nd motor had some serious sparks coming out after only maybe 15 hrs of use (at the most). Has the makings of a good product if above can be fixed

Bought it few months back. Used it to cut pvc pipes, skirting boards, floating floors etc. the laser is weak, and soon get lost. The degree is not 100% accurate, so if you are expecting a very fine and accurate cut, this is not the best option. But overall, it did what it supposed to do. I’m happy with it. I saw the review about “loose degree click”, actually, you don’t have to use the preset degree positions, you can use any degree within it’s allowed range and tighten the gauge by twisting/fastening and red knob/handle. So I don’t see that’s a problem. Did notice some vibration when sliding cutting towards to the very back end. For the price, this is a good beginner’s home DIY tool.

Item performed well because of its power. It is small enough to be carried easily and cuts most standard pieces without issues. Initially ordered a Metabo 316mm but cancelled because of backorders. This came is as a surprise search and complemented my other saw sizes. Has a three-year warranty so keep your receipt photocopied.

I am not a professional builder. I don’t know enough about mitre saws to be able to give a detailed critique or to nitpick at small details. But if I did, I wouldn’t buy a cheap one and then complain that it wasn’t up to the professional standard I required, as other reviewers of this item seem to have done. Anyone who complains this saw is sub-standard is delusional. It’s a $179 saw and it does what a $179 saw should. I’ve used it for several projects around the house and it’s been great. It’s made the jobs a lot easier and hasn’t caused me any issues. If you’re after a well priced saw for jobs around the house, get this one. If you want a saw works like a $1,000 saw, then buy a $1,000 saw.
Perfect for my needs (amateur woodworker). You have to keep an eye on the fence adjustment to maintain squareness and also depth setting which can move during use. But for me it's a very useful tool.I had no issues with dust collection, you just need to ensure the bag is attached correctly.
Unsatisfied customer: Poor swing mechanism design; thin check strap material bent.Pay a little more for a better product. It will save you time and the unecesary headaches.
I've owned my saw for close to 3 years. I do a lot of DIY and hobbyist woodworking. The saw is OK at the basics, but if you're want precision mitre and angled cuts, don't bother with this. It uses a very crude angle adjustment system which you will find is constantly moving, even when tightened - in fact because of how the system works, tightening it in-place will actually cause it to move. If you're doing anything more than crude DIY construction this inability to keep things square will quickly become frustrating. I suppose for the price you can't complain too much, but honestly, if your budget can stretch further, and you think you will be wanting some level of precision and accuracy in your cuts, look at something with a superior angle adjustment system (be ... Easy to set up and use. As a beginner I had no problems at all using the saw. Attaching it to the stand was trickier but manahable with shorter bolts.
This is a ripper unit. Purchased this one as i needed it for jobs around the house. A few people warned me about it might not be precise enough for mitre cuts advised me to spend hundreds on the other brands. So glad i didn't listen to them as this is one is fantastic! some reviews mention the dust bag not collecting anything. Mine works perfectly and collects it all. My first job i needed 8 mitre joints cut exactly the same, this did it no problems at all and saved me so much time i was happily surprised! It's also well made but i will be going back to buy the Ozito saw stand as it will make it easier to use as it's pretty heavy. So far nothing bad to say about it other than the blade it comes with is fine but i will be upgrading to a better quality one soon for ... MoreThis is a ripper unit. I have no complaints about my new sliding saw, Ozito. Its cuts clean and straight and the bevels are neat which is why I bought it. I have no experience working with wood. Fabricating starts with cut parts which are the right size. I have more to learn about woodwork and I think my investment in my Ozito is a wise choise. The quality of its manufacture is very satisfactory and works very well straight out of the box. Safty features are good. Thanks Ozito for supplying products I can afford for my home projects.
