Good Basic Metal Cut Off Saw

I have only recently purchased this cut off saw and have found it to be a good saw for the price. Now I have noticed that the Ozito Blade it comes with is just crap as it guts fine but then it will flex away from what you are cutting so in the end you will not have a square cut but a cut that is around 3 to 5 degrees out of square. I would strongly recommend purchasing a top-quality blade when you purchase this cut off saw. All in all, it is a good saw but the factory blade lets it down. It is definitely NOT a commercial grade saw, but good for a DIY handyperson around the home, etc. plus a 3-year warranty is also good.

Will suit most home handymen very useful.Works well will easily cut tubular steel. Cuts solid 20mm dia. I cut 35mm dia solid OK but speed does drop off so would struggle on multiple heavy cuts.My branded machine had more consistent power but did also burn out so the tip is don't overheat power tools.

Good build quality

Very impressed. Used it to cut unistrut 4mm thick wall 40mm X 80mm cross section multiple cuts and it cuts squarely and clean. Any burring was light and easily shaved off with a Stanley knife blade. Vice grips well. Be sure to familiarise yourself with cutting techniques to get the best result and prolong the life of the blade and don't force it. Move the fixed vice jaw back for larger sections so that the piece you are cutting is behind the middle point of the disc. The blade is still good after 30 cuts plenty of life left in it.

Good for the money
6 November 2021

I purchased this saw around 1 month ago to cut some 50x50x3 square hollow section mild steel for a project.Initially, I spent at least 10 minutes to only grind away a 3mm width track in the top of the steel which remained white after attempting to cut, caused by excessive heat of trying to grind rather than cut.HINT: Throw away the CRAPPY Ozito branded cutting disc (provided with purchase) that DOES NOT cut through steel and purchase a good brand name cutting disc (Flex something) from the same place for around $10.00.The saw cut through my material with less than 0.5mm run out of square over the depth of cut, easily compensated for in a root gap if welding.Overall, after changing the cutting disc I'm rather impressed with the quality for the price, every ... MoreI purchased this saw around 1 month ago to cut some 50x50x3 square hollow section mild steel for a project.Initially, I spent at least 10 minutes to only grind away a 3mm width track in the top of the steel which remained white after attempting to cut, caused by excessive heat of trying to grind rather than cut.HINT: Throw away the CRAPPY Ozito branded cutting disc (provided with purchase) that DOES NOT cut through steel and purchase a good brand name cutting disc (Flex something) from the same place for around $10.00.The saw cut through my material with less than 0.5mm run out of square over the depth of cut, easily compensated for in a root gap if welding.Overall, after changing the cutting disc I'm rather impressed with the quality for the price, every person who plays with steel (welds, sculptures) should have one in the shed. The saw can require a very small amount of time to reach full cutting speed but if used as intended and not forced though the cutting (everyone does it) it works well.

Good saw, terrible cutting wheel!
18 December 2021

You might read the other reviews and think "well, how bad can the cutting wheel in the box be, I'll use it for just a few cuts before replacing it." DO NOT DO THIS! It really is shockingly bad. Bin it before you even start the saw up and replace with a good brand name wheel and you'll be very happy with this saw for light fabrication work around the home.

Great Saw for a really good price
9 February 2023

I bought this to build a lifting bed base out of 30mm square tube and it's worked flawlessly. I used the original blade and also purchased another blade from a different brand because another review said their blade wasn't good but I've only used the original and had a great experience with it. You'll need another blade at some point but this one is no slouch. I would highly recommend getting this Cut off Saw especially at this price.

Great saw, just use it correctly and not for huge jobs.
1 August 2022

For the price, a great little saw. Doesn't cut really quickly but if you support your work and use it correctly and don't force it, it will cut straight. I note some people complaining it doesn't cut straight and the clamp is too weak but cut some spacer blocks out of timber or metal the thickness of the bed for a good cut. Expecting the clamp to hold the weight of the metal is unreasonable in my opinion as it is not designed to do this. A good saw for the DIY'er or small business owner who doesn't use it for huge projects. Far easier, safer and more accurate than an angle grinder.

Not the greatest
25 April 2023

Doesn't cut straight whatsoever regardless of the pressure you apply, have had to scrap multiple pieces now because of it and has cost me lots in wasted material. Blade also went very dull after very little cutting, probably wouldn't recommend to anyone

So so
26 March 2022

The quality of the saw itself is not bad, just that it’s very “sparky” because the blade is wider than a hand held grinder blade so cuts more material which has to be spit out somewhere. It’s also slow and if you lean on the handle it bends the blade producing a curved cut. However, If you are patient and don’t use force it should be ok.

TERRIBLE PRODUCT DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
26 June 2021

Terrible in every way , nasty .. when tightening metal against fence with vice the piece attached to the vice is unevenly balanced twisting your metal laterally and horizontally making an unsquared cut .. ESPECIALLY ON ANGLED CUTS ..also when setting the fence angle , no matter how tight the bolts securing the fence are when tightening the metal with vice it always puts the set fence angle out .. Don’t waste your money and time…
