The Olympea perfume is still being talked about and I like the original quite a bit, but don’t own it (yet). I found a sample of the Intense flanker in my fragrance horde, and it’s ok. I do like it, it’s exactly the type of perfume I wore years ago. Strong Amber base, with some vanilla …and toss in some salt too? Sounds good to me. I love salt in my perfume, but with this one it doesn’t tickle my fancy like the original. Maybe it’s bc there’s also a hint of pepper and some citrus going on. Wood too. But as it dries down and some time wearing, I mostly smell the amber, vanilla and woodiness. Occasionally I’ll catch a whiff of the salt and any florals in it, (I can’t quite identify them)but otherwise if you like not too cloying gourmands w/ syrupy sweet amber and ... But know (as in the original) there is salt in this scent, which can turn some ppl off quickly. It really depends on your nose and chemistry. I think it’s a good scent for a date night or whenever you want to be noticed. A few spritzes are all you need, it projects well, and is *very long lasting. I enjoy it, but would probably buy the original over this one.

If you're looking for something bold and truely unique, this is definitely worth a try. The Olympea series is my favorite set of perfumes. I have 4: Original, Intense, Aqua, and the limited edition Onyx. Intense is my favorite and the first I smelled. The DNA is very consistent across the range, so if you love you'll probably like the others. This original is the most floral from those mentioned with ginger flower, Jasmine and green mandarin at the top. I can't pick those out personally, as it's such a well rounded blend. The heart of this perfume is it's salty sweet, musky, vanilla, the dry down softens into an elegant lovely sweet vanilla cashmere. It's a very bold and addictive feminine fragrance. But after some research and an imaginative description by a YT review, where she recalled her childhood by the sea and paired that with vanilla and flowers on a hot day, it clicked. I don't like Paco Rabannes other fragrances. The lady million series does nothing for me, and i dont like XS, but this truely unique Olympēa collection is a masterpiece to my nose and my signature.

Paco Rabanne Olympea is a beautifully feminine fragrance for grown-ups. Warm but not overpoweringly spicy, fresh but not sickly sweet, this starts off quite citrus-fruity and dries down to a flavourful finish. Think an aromatic warm winter cocktail garnished with orange, vanilla and a dash of salt. Long-wearing and sits well on my skin, changing as it warms up with no powdery pong. Interesting that a lot of reviews think of it as a summer fragrance, for me it’s definitely more of a winter vibe. Packaging is pretty, with a strong feminine feel. I was kindly gifted a sample for trial and review and I can see myself reaching for it as a daily wear – would definitely purchase.

nooo sephora didnt publish my original review, so here it is againI used to use Bath Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar as a preteenteen. I grew out of it and into aquatic scents, but Olympea has made me love this fragrance family again Olympea is a grownup, sophisticated version of WVS.I absolutely smell salted caramel as soon as I spray it. However, after a few minutes, it dies down into a more subtle sweetness with lingering hints of the saltiness and a bit of floral. Like WVS, I smell the vanilla and sugar notes. Surprisingly, this wasnt oriental or spicy, as Paco Rabanne describes it. On my skin, Olympea does also impart a slightly woodyamber quality after a few hours.Lasting power is up to 6 hours on my normal skin. Sillage is not too highstrong, but lasting power ... Sillage is not too highstrong, but lasting power is pretty good...by hour 3, it smells almost like freshly washed skin cough cough Clean Skin this is how you shouldve smelled like. A little salty, a little sweet without going into candysweet territory...almost like I wasnt wearing anythingGorgeous bottle, but the cap is flimsy compared to the rest of the bottle, so be carefulIf you love the BBW Vanilla Sugar but want something a little more grownup aka you dont want to smell like the candy aisle with more than just a blast of sweet sugar, youll love this. Otherwise, steer clear. My current fave is the Chloe EDP... its my ideal scent, and this comes a close second. I wouldve given 5 stars had it been a touch less sweetcaramely and had slightly longer lasting powerAnother scent Id compare it to is the Viktor Rolf Flowerbomb, which I hate but is similar in sillage and lasting power to Olympea. Olympea is also considerably less spicy and floral.
This is how far behind I am Paco Rabanne has already got Olympa Aqua on the perfume counters, and Im just getting around to reviewing the original Olympa. Ive actually had the sample for a bit, but its mostly just sat there, waiting while I reviewed other, more likely candidates. The folks over at Paco Rabanne have done a great job of keeping the brand relevant with the youth market, but have not shown much interest, so far, with the notyouth market, which of course includes me, and partly explains why the lack of interest is pretty much mutual. I did review Black XS For Her way back in 2007 but I skipped Lady Million altogether. I did review Black XS For Her way back in 2007 but I skipped Lady Million altogether. Kevin, however, gamely reviewed Invictus ugly, he said, and I wholeheartedly concur, so here I go1with Olympa, the fragrance for the modern day Cleopatra. As is so often the case with these big designer launches, it took a team of big name perfumers Loc Dong, Anne Flipo and Dominique Ropion to put it together. Its advertised as a fresh oriental and as a a unique fusion between a sensual salted vanilla accord and refreshing floral notes,2 and thats all reasonably accurate. Olympa starts with a very juicy, very green citrus overlaid with a decent lashing of ginger. It announces its fresh orientation right out of the gate, with vague allusions to Glade and LEau dIssey, but its otherwise a nice enough start. It sweetens up as the top notes fade, with candied but watery floral notes and then creamy vanilla over a woody musk with salty solar undertones. It has a summery, almostbeachy feel neither caramel popcorn nor coconut are listed in the notes, but there are faint strains of either or both, and theres just enough powder to lend a velvety finish to the far dry down. Verdict Its just fine. Its reasonably wearable and reasonably pleasant if applied in moderation despite the fresh and watery notes, it is not really a sheer scent. Not surprisingly, I found it both too sweet and too synthetically fresh for my taste, and in general, it called up modern youth on spring break more than Cleopatra. Still, not bad, and a far cry better than Invictus. If you want something along the same lines, but maybe a little more sophisticated, you might try Calvin Klein Reveal. If you want more fruit and less fresh, you might try Thierry Mugler Womanity. Paco Rabanne Olympa is available in 30, 50 and 80 ml Eau de Parfum and in matching body products. I think there was originally an Extrait as well, but perhaps it is already sold out The notes include mandarin, ginger lily, aquatic accord, jasmine, vanilla, cashmere wood, sandalwood and ambergris.

This has become one of my favourite perfumes to use. I use this for everyday where going to work and it usually lasts me the whole day. It's beautifully designed bottle makes it so simple to fit in your purse or bag and is just as attractive as it's scent. I carry this everywhere with me just incase I ever need to top up. This is wonderfully made for those who aren't into the super sweet scented fragrances. The compliments I get from wearing this has been so nice to hear. I was gifted a sample to trial and review which I loved so much that I had to purchase a full sized bottle for myself! Keen to try out the other ranges from Paco Rabanne as well!
