Panasonic 2.0X Teleconverter DMW-TC20GC

This Lumix 2.0x Teleconverter lens can be attached to the Panasonic Lumix Leica DG Elmarit ES200 lens to increase its f-number to a value two steps higher than the original values. This effectively doubles the lens’s focal length from 200mm to 400mm. The teleconverter easily screws to the ES200 so it can be attached and removed quickly and it includes a carrying pouch to protect it when not in use.

I have use to it compare to the actually 400mm, it is not as Sharp as the native lens, but it still give me a very good image with regular lighting condition, but not in low light. I am very satiny with this product. But I think the 1.4 is a better choice for the list of lens, if you have the 100 - 400 also.

Fits Olympus 300mm f/4

It does fit the Olympus 300mm. The auto focus and exposure are working properly. I have not critically evaluated the picture quality, but have high hopes because lens and teleconverter seem to work quite well together. Olympus and Panasonic continue making compatible products that work well together.

I am using this with the PL50-200mm, which is an exceptional lens. This TC is tricky. IF you use it with the lens at maximum aperture (f 8) its output is simply not up to the ability of the lens. It's got halation, CA, and it's just not that sharp. HOWEVER, stopped down to f10, you can get some VERY good results with it.So, if you can work within that limitation, it is a great option, especially when bundled with the 50-200mm for $100 more, as Adorama has. If not, or if you require lower light shooting, then it's not a good choice.

Partial compatible with Olympus
31 January 2019

I had previously said it works with Olympus. It does, but the image stabilization does not recognize the teleconverter. The 300 mm lens gets IS for 300 rather than 600 mm. It still works well, but you do need a higher shutter speed.

I finally received the lens and was able to use the teleconverter. All that it said it was and more!

Works with more than just the 200mm!

I'm not sure why Panasonic lists the 200mm lens as the only one compatible. The PL 50-200 f/2.8-4 lens works perfectly with this teleconverter. I purchased the two together and am very happy with the combination. When you put this 2x teleconverter between your lens and camera you immediately lose two stops of light. So, in my case, I get a 100-400 f/5.6-8. That's a bit slower than the dedicated PL 100-400 f/4-6.3. However, I didn't want to buy the 50-200 alone and still be wishing I had the reach out to 400mm, only to have to turn around and buy the 100-400 anyway. All lens functionality works, and the metadata is accurately portrayed (pictures show 400mm when taken at maximum focal length, etc). The biggest downsides are: loss of 2 stops of light, softer image ... MoreI'm not sure why Panasonic lists the 200mm lens as the only one compatible. The first two are expected with any teleconverter. The third... well, keep your eyes open for deals and bundles.Overall, I'm happy I got it. It's allowed me to get up close and personal with some of the small birds that regularly call my yard their home.
