Good but could be better

Upgraded genius microwave to newer model as was very happy with old one. New model good but has two annoyances. Clock light is blue and extremely bright, lights up the room enormously (large room) at night and even bright during day, and doesnt have a, one second button, only 10min, 1min, 10seconds. Probably not everyone needs the second button but comes in handy more often than not in our house. Sensor reheat works really well and very easy to use.

Good but quality not as good as older model

Very similar to our previous model from 8 years ago, but the door opener seems very flimsy and already after just a few weeks, the plastic over the 10 seconds button and 1 minute button is starting to bubble. Also, the previous model had a "seconds" button where this one does not which is a bit annoying. Also, new models seem to need to have the "stop" button pressed in between individual heatings. Everything else works good.

Its a very good microwave in most ways,I replaced an earlier model of this microwave. My old micro had a cooling down feature which was annoying ( machine kept running for certain number of seconds when it had finished cooking) they have eliminated that which is a positive. The two main differences otherwise are a negative in my eyes. If you are microwaving a few things in a row the machine requires you to hit reset before allowing you to simply dial up more time eg if melting butter and put in for 10 seconds and want 10 more need to hit reset 10 and start. Might not seem like a big deal but becomes very annoying. The other issue is no seconds button which was very handy in old machine. The sensor reheat is brilliant. Great microwave with just a couple of drawbacks
13 November 2021

We've had this microwave for just a few days and generally we're very happy with it, particulary for the price. It's stylish without getting carried away and the buttons and door operation function well. It's also lighter than the competitor 13-year-old model that it replaced, which is good news for the shelf! Still, there are two downsides which are a bit disappointing. One is that the stylish dark glass makes it pretty impossible to see what's happening to your food, even if you try and hide the reflections. You can see in the photo that the light's trying to do its job, but what you can't see in this photo is that there's actually a jug in the microwave. You can see in the photo that the light's trying to do its job, but what you can't see in this photo is that there's actually a jug in the microwave. The second disappointment is related to one of the main reasons I bought this model; the sensor. I really liked the idea of throwing a plate of food in there, hitting 'sensor reheat' and letting the microwave get the food to just the right temperature. But on reading the manual (and this should be clearer in the advertising write-ups) the sensor only works when the food is covered by something that forms a seal - specifically, plastic wrap - so that the sensor can correctly measure the humidity of the food. This sensor is also how most of the other functions work. I don't want to use a sheet of plastic wrap every time I want to heat food. We're still happy with the microwave but had we known this was the requirement then we would have been less swayed by the fact the microwave had a sensor. However, in our case this model was priced better than competitor options with or without a sensor, so we're still very happy with our purchase.

Makes high pitched electrical noise
9 June 2022

Wanted to like this microwave but it makes a high pitched electrical noise at random times. Multiple times a day. I asked for a replacement since I thought I got a dud initially but the second microwave (same model) still has the same problem. I'm going to be looking into getting a different model, maybe a different brand too. This issue is too big for me to overlook. Otherwise works great.

Overall good unit. A few dislikes. Stainless Steel surround add-on is too expensive!
31 August 2021

Things I didn't like (1) Internal light is not bright enough. It could be brighter to be able to see progress of cooking better. (2) There's no single second button for setting cooking times - only lots of 10mins, 1mins, and 10secs. (3) The price for the official Stainless Steel surround kit is almost $300 !!! So you might wanna think about that. Do you really want a pretty surround that will almost DOUBLE the financial outlay when buying this unit! *** Other than those things (overall) it heats quite well and evenly. Good, adjustable power settings. And the auto re-heat feature - for the most part - seems to sense the temp OK and do a good job. Though we found that always choosing the 'Less' setting option when using this feature helped to prevent over-heating ... MoreThings I didn't like (1) Internal light is not bright enough. Panasonic Microwave NN- ST665B 32L

This appliance functions perfectly but ..... I am elderly and the operating panel FONT is JUST TOO SMALL & light TO READ WITHOUT A MAGNIFYING GLASS. I have had to make an enlarged copy with -BOLD PRINT (laminated) to keep beside the oven. Also find the dark oven a retrograde step. Hard to see product being cooked. I could not recommend it from that point of view! Definitely not the best for elderly users

Works well, but it's hard to see the program labels
6 October 2022

There were two layers of plastic sheeting over the control panel. The first was obviously packing protection, as it was already peeling off. We got worried when some weeks later there were bubbles over the program labels. We found no instructions or advice, but we got brave and peeled the second layer off as well, and now it's sleek and smooth! The printing is very small and the panel has no lighting, so it's hard to read. The microwave sits on a low shelf, so we have to bend down to try to see. It would be better if there were small bumps over each control to feel where to press.

excellent product
30 December 2022

Easy and quiet to use and great quality overall. I am still trying different functions, but very happy so far. It is a compact unit, yet has a nice wide turntable and plenty of capacity and power for its size. The only shortcomings so far are that finger marks show easily and that 'defrost' is not on the main menu - not a big deal though. It would have been better if the functions were back kit for better visibility.

the best microwave we could find
19 December 2022

No 'cooling' feature was high on our list, and this doesn't have one. excellent! All the usual features in spades, and definitely plenty of power. Easy enough to use for people like me who heat and reheat mostly though my partner does lots more, and has no criticisms. Some said the view through the glass from outside is not great. They are right, but it's not a showstopper for us. so 4.7 stars!
