It's also able to charge one battery at a time where as the cheaper Panasonic one can only charge in pairs.

It is so much better to have the peace of mind to know that the charger is taking care of all the finnicky details of getting a charge right, so that I don't have to worry about damaging my batteries. No worries about overcharging, or charging in pairs that are well matched so one does not get over charged, or if it is fully charged yet. I should have spent the little extra years ago.My only negative comment is that this charger refuses to charge some of my old batteries that have already been damaged by low quality chargers (e.g. they only hold 75 charge). So I have to use the old chargers for those batteries, but realistically I should probably just throw those old batteries away and save on some hassle.

Vs the overnight charger, I'm glad I went with this option. The fast charge is much better than waiting overnight - for practicality (and convenience) sake. The indicator lights per battery are an awesome addition. Only thing to take note of, I found, was battery config if charging solo/odd numbers (detailed in the pamphlet that comes with; easily followed). Because I initially thought one of my batteries was a dud (different brand - recharging those, too) - until I checked pamphlet and put in correct slot for charging a solo battery - voila, issue solved. It does what it says it will - charges fast, is user friendly, and (as alluded to), does recognise other competitors batteries as well - major bonus here, as I have more than a few of a different brand before ... MoreVs the overnight charger, I'm glad I went with this option. Absolutely the best!!

I was lucky enough to win a Christmas competitions with the rechargeable batteries both AAA and AA with a charging port and it has been an absolute lifesaver. These batteries last longer then your usual disposal batteries and the charging port is so easy and efficient to use I would highly recommend investing in these, no more forgetting to get batteries or unnecessary waste. Thanks so much Panasonic Australia I highly recommend these products.

Best money I've spent

It's really a very smart NMHI charger. It's able to charge individual cells or a pack of 4 or any combination. It will also diagnose a cell that's failed. It also shuts off when the batteries are fully charged. This is exactly what I've been looking for. Highly recommended.

Excellent & informative charger

Previously I've used the NC-MQR06 (until that blew up) followed by the BQ-CC18this is the best Eneloop charger I've used. It charges each cell independently and most importantly it does it fast! When I first received the BQ-CC55 I popped in a few of my existing Eneloop cells to see how they fared. This turned in to working through all my batteries until they were all at 100% (most of them were not, even though a lot of them had recently been charged with the BQ-CC18). The whole process was completed in an afternoon. I could not be happier with the BQ-CC55. To be honest I don't see the point in Panasonic offering anything less than this, it is perfect.

Great Reliable Rechargeable Batteries

I have been using the eneloop products for years, relaible and always ready when you need them. Great value expecially if they are on sale. No issues with these batteries seem to have better logevitiy than some other brands. Charge retention is exellent so you are able to keep a bunch of these charged up in a draw ready to go for months.

Great recharger and batteries

We have struggled for years with rechargeable AA batteries - they take so long to recharge and their usable life too short - until we found the Eneloop system - it is fantastic. We can now recharge 4 AA batteries within a few hours and they power our radio on an average of 3-4 days with quite substantial use. Cannot recommend therm highly enough.

Not as good as you'd think

Compact charger but can be used only with N-Mh batteries. There are 3 different coloured lights for each of the 4 channels to indicate state of charge, but they are difficult to differentiate. The charger sacrifices battery longevity for charging speed, and some of the batteries get quite hot. If you can get one at 50% off as I did, it's worth it otherwise there are better and more consistently performing chargers.
