Because of small size and a multitude of adjustments, controls serve several functions which does take time to master despite an easy to navigate menu system. For buyers not requiring advanced capabilities there are less expensive compacts available. For those not requiring the longer zoom there are other excellent cameras in this class with 3x zooms available although they may be more expensive. Although not simple to setup or as easy to use, under the right conditions and settings, results can be excellent and may even approach those of our other Nikon and Canon DSLRs.

I had received a B&H gift certificate from my son. I was in the market for a new Lena for my Nikon 5600. The last minute I decided I wanted a point and shoot. I was put in contact with Jeremy in the tech help department and after telling him my needs he recommended the Panasonic LUMIX ZS100. I love this fully loaded camera. I especially like that it also has a view finder besides the good size screen. The pictures are sharp and it is easy to carry around the city. I was very impressed with the technical help I received from B&H. Thanks.

I am still in the early stages of using the GH5 Mark II, and so far, I am impressed. I decided against buying the GH6 because I only do stills. All of my Olympus lenses work perfectly.MY only gripe (if one can call it that) is that the function buttons on the back of the camera are very small and a bit fiddly to operate. If there will be a GH7 at some time, perhaps this could be improved for easier handling?
I ordered the GH5 ii on sale as a third camera to go with my two GH5s. The new menu system is great but somehow the footage looks noticeably worse than my GH5. The colors just don't look natural and there seems to be some smearing in the skin tones, shadows just look bad. I thought it might have been the noise reduction so I turned it down a couple of notches which made the image look a bit more natural but iso 3200 which I never had problems with is now nearly unusable at how grainy it is. The Cine D 2 is also unusable. It looks so blotchy and seeing some weird color shifting. I want to love this camera but I have had nothing but issues with it since I got it. I want to exchange it for another to see if its just my camera or is the OG GH5 better.
Bought this initially for the extra stabilisation since I mainly film aerial subjects. It turns out this is essentially a new camera as opposed to a GH5 upgrade and now I'm selling my GH5. Color science has improved, raw stills are now 14bit and Panasonic have added DR into the highlights creating much better roll-off and toning. Some of the profiles like L Neo Classic and Flat give interesting options especially in able to give a Kodak Portra look when printed on paper. Stills auto focus is lightening fast and looks very capable in video though I prefer manual. Excellent cammera and value.

I use the Panasonic DMW-XLR1 mic adapter. It is (almost) perfect. (I wish the knobs had a little more resistance to them, they feel slippery and it makes me nervous.) Single shotgun mic with a y-adapter gives me great audio with a safety channel. BMPCC4K can't do that.V-Log L. It's included and it looks great as long as you're in 10bit.I love, love, love the GH5 II. It is totally underrated.(The GH6 is $500 more and what do you get? An extra stop of dynamic range at ISO2000 + bad streaking around windows and other bright light sources + mis-matched memory card slots + a body the size of a freight truck? Pffft. No thanks.)What would make the GH5 II better?- Full v-log, like its Panasonic FF brothers.- ProRes Proxy. That's right, I said proxy. I shoot 6k open gate and deliver HD on YouTube and Bluray. Proxy is plenty. I like my file sizes small and easily digestible, thank you.
I bought this in hopes of replacing an older Panasonic camera, but I have returned to using the older camera. Several times, I accidentally pressed a function button while trying to do something else. I also had difficulty with the screen turning off when I was shooting in tight spaces and dim light. When everything went well, the camera is very good but all too often something went wrong. I read some suggestions online, but none of them solved screen turning off problem. It seems to only happen when the lighting is dim and I am holding the camera at unusual angles or in tight places, but unfortunately for me that happened too often.
The GH5 is still a great hybrid camera with awesome (4K) video features and now it's a very good deal, especially used (in near mint condition for close to $1,000). If one knows how to optimize its AF, including the installation of the latest firmware, this is quite usable too. I have been using 2 of them with Panasonic pro lenses for shooting indoor interviews and small products in 4K video with ease of use and high quality results. Until I have a need for higher than 4K they are going to remain my cameras of choice. My "no" for "easy to use" is not because the camera is complicated but because it has so many features that one has to spend the time necessary to learn how to use it to its best.

I generally have both a full frame and a MFT and use a lot of adapted film camera lenses. This combo makes each lens have two effective focal lengths. I think the image quality of the MFT format equals that of the full-frame in good light.
