I bought this shaver a couple of weeks ago after reading a ton of reviews. Despite the manufacturer's recommendations, I bought this to shave my head and I was not disappointed. The shaver is easy to hold and glides over the skin. Not only is it more comfortable than a wet razor shave, it's safer with no nicks or cuts and delivers pretty much the same result as a razor shave without the fuss. Can't say it is quicker than a wet razor shave as I do a few passes with and against the grain to get a totally smooth finish and this shaver does it. I also love the cleaning station, it gets the shaver clean and like new everytime.

This is without doubt the best shaver I have owned! I migrated from Braun to Panasonic many years ago and haven't looked back. This latest model is very quiet and adjusts really well to the contours of your skin, giving a good, close shave. A pleasure to use. The cleaning station is also quieter than earlier models and does a great job. Highly recommended.

Tried Philips S9000 Prestige but similarly as Braun 9 shaves are not close enough and it also gave me a lot of skin issues. I almost gave up and accepted the fact that no electric shaver is going to give me satisfactory shave and manual shaving is just not an option for me. Panasonic ES-LV9Q is the first shaver I used that provides manual blade close shaves which last the whole day. It is noticeably closer compared to Braun and Philips. It's quick and does a terrific job, and it's converted me from blade shaving. It's not too heavy, which means you don't have to be a weight lifter to use it. The self cleaning is a awesome. Put it in the dock for charging, and while it's there start the cleaning cycle. It washes and it even dries - so convenient.
Writing on behalf of my brother and father :) They enjoyed using the electric shaver for the first time! Complained a little at first about the weight of it, but got used to it quickly. Have to undetstand, they were using flimsy diposable razors compared to this fancy thing. I just love my new shaver (ES-LV9Q) ! they have knocked it out of the park with this one! It so far has way surpassed my expectations. Ive had Braun series 9 and the older Arcitect.... what stands out is just how efficient and smooth this shaver is. It takes less time than others to do a better job. it is also by far the closest shaving. Cleaning station is exceptional too. Im a Panasonic lifer now. lol
Did a LOT of research before buying this one, mostly tossing up between Panasonic and Brauhn. By most accounts, Panasonic's 5-blade has the edge, and this doesn't disappoint. Extremely well designed on every level. My previous Panasonic lasted me for many years, so fingers crossed for this one. Have previously only used an electric to finish off after razors & oil, but thing can you from 3-day beard to "baby's bottom" in 2 or 3 minutes. The shave quality is really quite astonishing. Thumbs up.

Golden rollers on the shaving head look terrific but are also practical in ensuring shaver glides over the face - reducing unnecessary frictions. - The shaving head is large but in a good way - you remove more hair in less strokes. It also moves in many directions - in/out, left/right, slides up/down, swivels up/down, swivels left/right. This ensures that the shaving head adapts to face contours and has good contact with the skin at all times. The only small drawback is the fact the it comes with a very mediocre soft case, while competitors in this price range offer something a lot sturdier.
